THE best location in Rome! just up the spanish steps. More costy are the rooms with the view, but what a view! We definitely recommend this hotel for it location and view.We will keep fantastic souvenirs... Grazie

this hotel offered no amenities for the price you payroom was small ,and in poor condition no turndown service, no newspaper and the bathroom was inadequatly prepared/This hotel calls itself Intercontinental but it is a poor Holiday Inn.For the price they charged there are numerous better choices.

Great hotel, great location, good space given it was Europe. We loved the location, quality, and staff in this hotel. European hotels can often be small as compared to US standards, but this was more spacious. We stayed in three different rooms. The restaurant was very nice and the service, both in the restaurant and at the hotel was excellent. We were very pleased with this hotel and I am encouraging my parents, who are both 70, to stay here on their impending trip to Rome. I feel confident that they will be safe and well attended to at this hotel.

Intercontinental De La Ville is perfectly located right on top of the Spanish Steps. We had a huge triple room which was very comfortable. Internet is expensive. The continental breakfast is lovely with a huge spread of fruits, cheeses, cereal, breads and anything you can think of. The stay at this hotel was very pleasant I would recommend this hotel to future travelers!

The hotel is great, located a few steps away from the spanish steps, great rooms, cleaned everyday, great view if you get a balcony. Staff goes the extra way!!!! Would go again without a doubt

We stayed at the Intercontinental de la Ville for three nights. A family of four, we requested two adjoining rooms. We were given 515 and 516, not only adjoining, but contained within an alcove at the end of the corridor, with a private outer door. Both rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable. A wonderful surprise was that one room had a tiny balcony with a wrought iron table and two chairs; the other had a larger enclosed patio overlooking the courtyard, with table and chairs and a chaise lounger. These were great places to cool off, relax and rest before dinner. The beds were firm but comfortable, with luxury sheets and snowy white duvets, leaving little doubt about cleanliness. Marble bathrooms were large, modern and clean, and the terry robes new and soft. There was internet availability, but at a cost, which I still think is cheap, but universal. There was no coffee maker - a disappointment. The breakfast buffet was extensive, and good, although not exceptional. The Intercontinental excels in two areas: the rooftop terrace, with its unparralleled view of Rome, and its location at the top of the Spanish steps. It is right next door to the Hassler, which costs twice as much. Its location meant most destinations could be reached on foot, and a host of wonderful restaurants were steps from the door. We will definitely stay here again, next time for longer.

We stayed here in late July after departing from our recent stays in Paris and London with my faimly of 5. This hotel was a huge disappointment compared to our Intercontinental room in Paris. And this hotel was even more expensive. Our 2 rooms on the first floor were very old and VERY small. I was in shock when I first saw them. The carpet must have been 20 years old. The lobby looked old and had cheap furniture. Our view out of our 1st floor room was a construction site acress the street. Now for the good - the staff was fine and helpful for the most part, the location near the Spanish Steps was excellent and the room had a decent but small bathroom. Wireless internet service was 30US per day (free at Intercontinental in Paris - what gives??). If this is the best Rome has to offer I'll pass on returning to this city. Nonetheless I'd suggest you check out the Westin or the Villa Medici next door which looked MUCH nicer by comparison. It seems this old small hotel tries to get by simply by their location.

My wife and I will never forget the view from our terrace during this very special trip for us.All as been organize for us to make our stay the most memorable one. Service and kindness of the staff, location of the hotel and view of its terrace should be the best in town.If you decide to stay in this hotel, you should reserve a room with view or a terrace.

Good sheets and bedding, good location Get ready for add on charges and expensive services This hotel over rated. Begin expecting charges, starting with upgrade offers on check in, internet (Euro 23), telepones, and expensive bar (Euro 18 a drink) and restaurant (expect $100 a plate). 6th floor terrace has view, except that construction blocks much of it. Rooms, like most cities, are small, but good bedding and bath, but furnishings starting to look worn and outdated. Lobby is small and crowded, making check in and out a challenge for this star rating. Conceirge less than helpful; more interested in selling upgrades and added services. Good bellhops and luggage handling.

This is a beautiful little hotel in an excellent location. We had a room with a balcony. It was quite spacious for a European hotel room. Our room was immaculately cleaned everyday. It is within walking distance to two subway stations and great shopping. We were thrilled with our choice for the price.

Concierges were excellent and most helpful, location was great and not too congested, near the subway and an elevator at the Spanish Steps. Concierges would not tell you about the elevator, had to find out from others, would not tell you anything about the subway, which we found very easy. The hotel is in a great location, not too congested. Everyone at the hotel was very courteous and helpful, especially the concierges. Bed was comfortable, room was clean but very small. The bathroom was nice. Don't know why they will not tell you about the subway and the elevator, which is right there and easy to figure out. Nice restaurant, but very expensive.

Staff and location could not be better. Rooms were not cleaned well. Internet cost wasoutrageous. The hotel feels like a small boutique, but has all the facilities of a large hotel. The location and staff can not be beaten.

It was fantastic to get a such incredible view for my wedding anniversairy trip! My wife and I will never forget it. Staff is also perfect and very helpful.

Location. Run down, difficult for staff to meet your simple needs, small room, not 5 star caliber in the slightest. This hotel was in a great location. I have stayed at other Intercon hotels in the past and they have lived up to my expectations. This hotel however was the complete opposite and if we hadn't gotten such a goodprice through priceline, I would've walked out. The room was dirty, lampshades ripped, we were given the run around when we simply asked to borrow a cheese knife. No turn down service, no pool, concierge unhelpful, room small and very hot without a way to turn on a fan or cool it down.

"This hotel is wonderful! The location is excellent. The rooms are well-equipped (smallish by US standards, but generous for Europe). The staff was very accommodating. And the buffet breakfast was wonderful (but make sure you get the rate that includes breakfast). It is not cheap, but it is worth the money. We are going back next year."
