Staff, quiet, great diving area! Pool had alot of sand in it and surface floting debre. 100% happy ! It was a peacefull and amazing vacation! Staff wasperfect and went out of the way to make sure we were so happy. Thanks guys and girls!

Intercontinental- Presidente is a nice fading upscale hotel - after check-in we were IMMEDIATELY directed to a desk to sign up for sales pitch to their vacation club in exchange for breakfast and a 24 hour car rental. The "club" gives you a room triple the size and double the ammenities (two sinks, bathtub, sofas & chairs) of non-club members who pay triple the price for a VERY average room. We didn't know that the free breakfast included the company of the salesman. The "club" category room is very nice, but was not available for us as non-club members even though there were several available. The room we paid quite handsomely for was not adequate for three people. Staff is very friendly, english comprehension is marginal. Food is delicious. Plastic bar glasses observed simply being rinsed off and reused. Beach lovely. My son & husband obtained their scuba certification right on site. Seems to be a fun family place with lots of little children. Older children kept us up several nights playing beer pong below our deck. Desk was responsive with each phone call made about the yelling and screaming throughout the morning hours. We paid a decent amount of money for a very marginal room. Members of the vacation club pay less than we paid and get a room triple the size and double the ammenities. The knowledge of it all put a little damper on our vacation which was important to us because our college-age son wanted to go with his friends! I'd recommend the place - the spa was great - again, if they can't read or understand english, they probably don't understand your health issues - point ! If you are not a member of the vacation club, try to pay about $.

The snorkeling off the resort was great. The service was top-notch. I would recommend renting a car if staying here though so you can easily go into town for a meal.

Excellent service, excellent (some of best on island) food, good snorkeling, easy to get to town. Room smelled like mildew - staff was quick to act and provided dehumidifier that resolved issue within 24 hours. We felt Presidente was far better. Food is very good at Aura, but excellent at Presidente. Same for service. Also - the all-inclusive Aura attracts customers who drink a lot resulting in some occasional loud obnoxious folks that wake you up late at night on their way back from bar. If you want peace and quiet, stay at Presidente. If you want some folks to drink with, stay at Aura. Aura (mostly adults) is way above the other Wyndham next door to it.

We just returned from 6 nights at the InterContinental Presidente. Definitely, if I was going to return to Cozumel, this is where I would stay again. From driving around the island in our rented Jeep, it was clearly the nicest resort on the island. If you are trying to decide if Cozumel is the place for you, please remember that it is a DIVING island. Everyone there is scuba diving or snorkeling. That also means that the resort is rather low-key because divers don't tend to be party animals. You can't drink and dive! The food at Presidente is good. We got the Beach Front Superior with Breakfast and that saved us about $37.00 (US) a day. We ate from the buffet for breakfast each morning. The service in the restaurant on the beach is great and they get to know you quickly. The bar is also friendly. With our beach front superior room we had a nice patio with a hammock, first floor, with a walk right to the "beach." I say "beach" because it's man-made with a wall, and the beach itself is rocky. Also, I like to hear the waves crashing when I'm at the beach, but you couldn't hear it at all because it is so calm on this side of the island. The waves are on the other side of the island. We had an outdoor shower in an atrium in our suite that was amazingly wonderful. Loved that! We both had massages in the spa. Beautiful spa but I though it was expensive. They are working on the top floor of the south part of the resort where we were. Those rooms were totally gutted. The noise was not a problem. I would stay there again, no problem.

The hotel staff had a warm inviting presence when you entered the lobby. The feeling of warmth was maintained through out our stay. The staff took time to put hibiscus flowers on the bed and on our towels. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and courteous. The staff observed privacy when people were on the beach or pool area, but ready to serve you if you had any need. Wonderful area to snorkel right off the beach front. The entire hotel was clean. Restaurants had excellent food with local specialities. Spa was delightful and relaxing and one of the best I have enjoyed at a resort. Highly recommend for an anniversary or romantic getaway!

The Intercontinental Presidente is a great hotel, probably one of the best on the island. The staff is friendly and corteous. ScubaDu, the diving center on site, is a very good operator. We felt safe diving with them. The rooms were very clean and overall, the hotel maintains and takes care of its property. The wireless Internet was free, however we had problems getting a signal. It's probably because the walls are concrete. There is a business center though for you to check your email. The only thing we didn't like was the noise. We stayed in the middle building on the property and you could hear every little thing outside the door. I think it's the way it's designed. Noise just echos and bounces off the concrete walls on the outside walkway. Other than that, I would make sure you get a receipt for everything you eat or drink on the property because it adds up and we couldn't verify the costs on our checkout bill because they give didn't give us receipts. Also be prepared to pay a service fee that is added for each day you are there. Ours was about $12 a day and added to the final bill. I wasn't aware of it. They say it pays for the housekeeping. Also, be aware of the resort fee that is added each day as well. Ours came out to $75 for five days. Orbitz made sure we were aware of this upon booking the trip. As usual, the drinks are expensive and the food is pricey. But overall, I would go back in a heartbeat! It was a relaxing and enjoyable trip.

It was the best experience that we have ever had. The hotel was awesome and the staff so friendly. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Every single one of the staff was helpful. The service was the best that we have ever dealt with. I recommend this hotel/resort to everyone. It is so beautiful and an experience our family will never forget.

We just spent 7 days working in Cozumel staying at the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental. Life could not have been better. First class in every aspect. This is a hotel worth spending a little extra for on the island of Cozumel. Nothing was wanted. First class accomodations, the staff was impecible. The restaurants were exquisite. If you can afford the small difference in price between this hotel and four stars in the area, it is well worth your while. We have visited lots of places on the island, nothing compares!

We have stayed in this hotel 6 times and although I can't imagine how they could improve on perfection, they seem to surprise and please me more each visit !! I will NEVER stay anywhere else in Cozumel.It deserves more than 5 stars !! It is worth the extra money and frankly, I am glad it is a little pricey because that means the hotel guests are generally of higher standard.

The food was greasy and way overpriced. The hotel is far from the shops and requires a $5 taxi ride each way. The accommodations were nice, but eat somewhere else and swim somewhere else. Also, the spa prices were twice as high as anywhere else.

Upon our arrival, the staff was so welcoming and the hotel was strikingly beautiful. Our room was enormous and housekeeping did a fantastic job every day. The choice of 2 pools and beach area gave us plenty of opportunity to enjoy the Mexican sun. Our favorite was the very cheerful, always whistling cabana gentleman (he along with all the rest of the staff) made for a very memorable stay. The bed with it's very soft bedding is also worth noting, (wish I could have taken it home). The dive staff was very good at their jobs - we felt very comfortable diving with them and the diving was amazing. We could not have chosen a better hotel. We had originally looked for an all inclusive but choose the Presidente instead. Have never been happier. A short taxi ride to town provided for exceptional local cuisine. Wouldn't change a thing.

This is our 4th time at this resort...the first was 25 years ago and we returned again this time for our 25th anniversary. It was great - even better than before. We had a beach access room - wonderful!

Location, quiet. There were no wall decorations in the rooms. El president is recovering from the devastation of Wilma but is not 100% yet. The snorkeling is not what it was and the details were not uniform ally right (no soap in the spa showers or robes in the rooms. Much training of new staff was underway and there were many instances of very friendly and competent service. We will go back!

This hotel is perfect for relaxing and staying away from busy life. Everyone is trying hard to make your stay enjoyable. Snorkeling was a major factor for us and even though the water was clear and beautiful, but the reef were badly damaged due to hurricane. The beach is very nice for relaxing but rocky for swimming. Dining menu need more selection and wish they would add cover charges to the food, find these practices irritating. Breakfast buffet 20/person, lunch 30/person, dinner 30 and higher without alcoholic drinks. We stayed and Front beach superior averaging 455 per night. From outside, I found beachfront rooms much better than the reef rooms. We saved more than 200 by paying cash and not using credit card. The hotel charges 10.85 peso per dollar. My credit card company charges 3% transaction fee and they would not tell me their conversion rate (guessing 10.30 to 10.45 peso/dollar). Don't understand the TV channel line up. Cheap hotels give you 70 or more channels and this hotel had around 15 channels that my 4 yr old often had issue to find her favorite cartoon. Overall worth every penny to stay there.

We didn't have one bad experience at El Presidente. Service was excellent. Loved all the animals made from towels. The complimentary coffee was a real treat and right at 7:00 am. as I requested. The room was very large with great furnishings. The bathroom had a large shower and soaker tub with a view of the carribean. All employees were very professional. The food was great, although a bit pricy. We'll go again!

We selected this hotel in order to enjoy a dive vacation. The rooms were very clean and well prepared, and the service was friendly and prompt. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The dive operation was well managed and the boats and crew superb. The restaurants are much too expensive for the quality of food, and the cover charge to eat at the upscale restaurant is unjustified.
