The " all inclusive" is not what you think. The breakfast & lunch was good but the supper food was not good. There is only 2 resturants open at night and they never change. Taxi ride to downtown Cabo's is about 30 minutes. Please be careful if you book any fishing from the hotel. What they show you are going to get isn't what it is when you get there. Go downtown and book your fishing.

Close to beach. Very poor directional sign to buildings. I fell down a step that was not marked while searching for the building I was to occupy. This was one of several safety concerns I had after traveling all day, no help was given or offered to get me to my room.

Upon arrival at the airport you are bombarded with people trying to sell you packages of acitivites and transportation. Do not do this. Try to book any activities such as ATV, Jetskiing and such through travelocity. While there they can charge up to *for an hour of jetskiing. Also if you do make sure your fee includes transportation to the place. A taxi to Los Cabos from San Jose is about * for a 30 mile trip. The hotel was decent and the food was good. The pools were very warm but it was 100 degrees outside. Also the drink cups were small about 10 oz cups not nearly big enough. The staff was polite but not friendly. It was very hot when we went in July, apparently the hot times are July through August. In the end it was a good trip.

We enjoyed the resort and the service was great and could not be beat. We went into downtown Cabo a few times, which was a 30 minute drive. We went Zip Lining and rode ATV's, which was absolutely breathtaking. :) The only downer was that we were not allowed to go into the Sea of Cortez

Beautiful Location away from the crazy side of town in Cabo. Still close enough to go to town when you are in the mood for action. No swimming on the beach but you don't need it with the three pools with ocean views. Food was great. Service was Awesome. The people that work here are friendly, helpful, and continually work all day serving. Nice evening music and karaoke once a week, entertainment with their Fiesta. Most of all relaxing! With all inclusive you don't have to worry about anything. Relax and enjoy. We will definately be back.

I have stayed at this hotel many times before. The hotel was in great shape but their lack of restaurants and limited food menu was not good. Last time I stayed their the hotel has 5 restaurants opened this time their was only 2. I guess it's the economy. Also at night they would have a Mexican fiesta or a Beach Party theme on the beach, but this time their was nothing. I was disapointed about that. But if your going for rest and relaxation with out much noise from the younger crowd then this is the place.

My wife and I stayed here first week of June for a honeymoon getaway and that's exactly what we received. I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews about the food, the timeshare sharks, and the security.... but my expectations were far exceeded for the value! Restaurants were decent to very good. El Patio is a wonderful contemporary restaurant with excellent service that could rival some of the better restaurants in Chicago. If you come here and expect to eat the same stuff that you do at home, then you will not be happy, after all, it is a foreign destination! Breakfast was great- fresh fruit and local specialties. The Wednesday night Fiesta is incredible! We were looking for a quiet, restful vacation away from the young springbreakers and party people (which is what San Lucas, the other side of town is about) and got exactly that. Nice beach with security, plenty of room at the pool (with an excellent bartender- Jose!!), and very cordial staff. No safes in rooms but an efficient safety deposit box system at the front desk with 24 hour access. Rooms were very comfortable with great view of the shore. The bed was a little stiff for my liking but not a big deal for me as we spent plenty of time laying in the hammocks along the beach. We walked in to San Jose the last day to buy souveniers (remember to barter the price down, once we started to walk away- they gave in). I have absolutely no complaints of this hotel and will definitely go again!

* The hotel didn't have a shuttle to/from airport (BTW, taxi's are an easy and affordable alternative, our friends had travel vouchers and that ended up being more of a headache) * We upgraded our rooms to beach front, our room was right next to the dining area so it was really uncomfortable trying to lay out in patio since the dining room directly overlooked us. * Seems like every turn you make you have time share vultures trying to get your attention or make you commit to something, I couldn't believe hotel encourages this, we were trying to relax and vacation but felt like we had to keep our guard up against the salespeople, they attacked us at the beginning during an "info" session where they tell you where your rooms are, they attacked us again the next day while we were trying to get a table for breakfast and then breakfast was completely akward because every other table was really a business meeting over food where couples and families were being questioned about what other hotels they'd been to etc. * Food was okay but it was also a bit weird that select items on the menu were for pay * Outside of a few select staff members that were rude or just disinterested, most people there were really nice, helpful and wanted to make your stay as pleasant as they could, the bartenders were really funny and serviceable people * No good place to hang out or dance at night, the lobby had a bar but not very fun atmosphere since you are literally in the hotel lobby that daylights as a info area, bars closed at 11:30pm and after that you couldn't get any alcohol, weird schedule, no nightlife * Rooms were very clean, fixtures in room and surrounding areas a bit dated but kept clean and pretty well-maintained. * We spent one day in Cabo San Lucas, Cabo Wabo was a must go to for us, then we went on a dinner cruise to the arc, was beautiful and good party fun on the boat on the way back * Overall hotel was a good experience, was just shocked by what I would consider some unortho

In 2007, we stayed at the Melia Cabo Real and loved it. Because of the price increase at the Melia, we chose the El Presidente. First of all, not all rooms have safes and my husband had to pay the front desk an extra 50 which I am sure went into his pocket, for a room with a safe. Meanwhile, during the time we were there, two young couples without safes had their rooms broken into with money, passports, etc. stolen. What we disliked the most was following check in, we were approached with a sales pitch to join what seemed comparable to a time share, although they said it's not. They give you the usual free land tour and a bottle of tequila. Two days later, there we were, in front of a sales person, who was not only rude, but pushy, obnoxious and hateful. Worst of all he said we were liars and did not vacation to all the places that we listed. The project managaer, R, was told about this and he tried to make good with apologies, but it left a very bad impression with us and we will never go back. The food was very mediocre and the menus never changed at the El Patio and Terrezza restaurants. The Napa breakfast was OK. I will say, the only positive thing about the entire place is the staff. They were better than great. The grounds are kept immaculately landscaped.

My husband and I travelled recently for our first anniversary and we absolutely loved the hotel. The room was spacious and very clean. We read a lot about the bed discomfort, but found it very comperable to our expensive mattress at home. The weather is perfect and the pools are wonderful. The staff was extremely accomodating. My husband loved the food and I found it to be "okay". The buffets were better than the a la carte dinners in my opinion. We highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing trip.

Everybody was very friendly, the food was delicious all the time, a lot of food, the room was super has a ocean front view just perfect, the activities were very entertaining, when they said all inclusive they mean it! We just have the best vacations ever!!!

Great/friendly staff, decent food/variety (especially considering it's all-inclusive... the breakfast is fantastic), beautiful location. The "adult" pool was serene and totally relaxing if you don't want the party atmosphere at the "activity" pool. Bed was super comfortable. Rooms clean and spacious. My only complaint was they wouldn't allow a check out later than 1pm and our flight didn't leave until 7pm but we were able to keep our bags with the consierge. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back.

This hotel was fine for the money. It was nice to be able to walk into San Jose. It wasn't 4-star, but we didn't pay for 4-star. The food was mediocre and the drinks weak unless you asked for extra.

We stayed here for 4 days and that was about right for us. We did some biking and walking and lingered at the pool. Food was adequate, not exquisite. Would probably return in the future for a short stay.

We were a middle aged couple on our honeymoon looking for a romantic resort, El Presidente was perfect at a great price. It was very clean, the food was great, (especially the fish, Sea Bass, Mahi-mahi, & the fruit was fresh & sweet), there was plenty of room at the pool, (Marco & Jessica make great drinks and are very friendly), and the weather was always nice! We enjoyed the bike tour into San Jose, we rode horseback on the beach, (cost extra), and I went fishing and brought our fish back to the hotel and the chefs even prepared our fish on the grill out by the beach, it was a wonderful climax to our dream honeymoon! The only thing I missed was American beer, but they had Tecate on tap which is a good Mexican beer, and you can always buy some American brew in town if you wish.
