The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly but at check-out all kinds of fees are charged.

Facilities, swimming pool and the private beach. Extra chages when cheking out. The hotel is excellent to stay in Vallarta, however I was very disappointed when at the end they charged about 25 USD per day for what they called the resort fee, this is the first time I see this and most of the guests were complaining about this. They said that this was for the use of the facilities, I think they should just include everything in the full fare they offer.

Hotel is old, rooms are larger than average, however furntiure are old, sofa was full of stains, decorative pillows with bad odors, carpet between the 2 beds was dirty, towels were old and not soft, food are expensive, for 2 coffees, orange juice & 6 slices of toasted bread we paid 30.00 usd, there are better options in PVR

Went hotel for a wedding. Hotel staff were great, friendly. Food and dining was great. Only problems were that staff not attentive to details like stocking room with towels, handtowels, or coffee for coffee pot. Everyday you had to ask for something. Also, don't know how well things were cleaned in room ie never saw floors mopped.

If you like a more private beach, beautiful views, and warm and friendly staff - this place is for you. The front desk was very helpful. Our room was kept very clean. We told our maid about a light that went out in the bathroom and it was fixed immediantly. Morning and evening room service was quick. The guacamole is incredible! Flowers everywhere. Very nice grounds. Downtown is a 7min taxi or bus ride away. It was very nice to visit the busy downtown area, then go back to our quiet room and sleep like a baby. I'd go back tomorrow! The only thing that bothered us slightly was the firmness of our bed - a bit more firm than I'm used to.

The view from our room was incredible. Friendly staff. We attended a wedding on the beach which was stunning! I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to PV who is looking for peace and quiet.

Private beach. Pushy staff. The room, location, and beach were the best! However, we felt the staff was cold and inconsiderate, esp. Because we did not attend a presentation. There was a distant vibe from the staff.

In over 25 trips to Mexico this was the worst experience we ever had. They embarrassed us in front of our realtor saying he could not go to our room. Raised there voices at me in front of other guests. Half the services did not work. Internet was out even though they charged us. Our cards would not get us into the business center or gym as promised. We were told we had to pay a $16 dollar a day resort fee, when asked what for, "just because". No manager was ever available to speak to us day or night. the room was never really clean. we opened a mirrored door that had a 2 ft diameter pipe behind it that you could hear stuff draining into in the night. Very rude night security and front desk person. We will never go back

My husband and I recently stayed at the Presidente Intercontinental in Puerto Vallarta Mexico (Dec 2008). The hotel is south of the city, about 15 minutes by taxi or city bus, and about 30-40 to the airport. Taxi to and from airport $28 USD. The hotel has two nice restaurants, however I felt that the breakfast buffet was rather pricey. It would have been nice if they changed the buffet daily. Nightly buffets were offered, but we didn't try them, rather pricey. Christmas eve dinner was awesome-6 course really nice dinner. The swimming pool was large, clean and warm water with swimup seats for the bar. Great service at the bar and great pina coladas. The beach is very slanted down to the water, due to sand erosion. Still plenty of sand, nice chairs. Waves were huge and powerful the entire 5 day stay, not recommended swimming in ocean for small children, or even some adults. They will definitely knock you down and out of the water and on to the beach! Kayaks and hobie cat available for renting. Vendors on the beach selling junk were adament, plentiful and annoying. Hotel should run them off, as they said it was a private beach. The room was HUGE, nicely kept, except it was hard to get replacement coffee, tp, etc. An iron took 4 days to get and only then got one as I caught the maid in the hallway. Hotel has a small store on the 5th floor. Bellboy was readily available to get taxi or give information. Buses to town can easily be caught right out front the hotel and run about every 20 min. 60 cents to town. Saw whales and dolphins from the room balcony. I would recommend this hotel, if you aren't worried about taking the bus to town. Nothing else within walking distance of the hotel and narrow curvy street with fast traffic. No sidewalk in most places. PV has many awesome restaurants, timeshare sharks were rampant.

The rooms all face the bay and have spectacular views. There was only one restaurant there and it's theme is Italian. The hotel is beautiful with many flowers hanging on the outside. We stayed in a single room with a king bed. We loved the room and the bathroom was nice, the bathtub could have used some work. The view on the balcony was absolutely gorgeous. We actually saw whales from our balcony. It was a little cool when we went so we did not swim, but they have a nice pool and beach. This hotel is ten minutes from town and is more secluded, so cab fare is a little more expensive. I would love to stay there again.

I stay in a lot of Intercontinental hotels and because of this always get up-graded to a suite and have free mini bar drinks. I stayed here last month 10/2008 and booked on-line with a $* per night rate. I have stayed here before and enjoyed it. When I was checking out I was charged about $* more than I should have because of the taxes that was not mentioned on the internet or when you check in. BE PREPARED TO PAY A LOT MORE WHEN CHECKING OUT! Also the food is terrible! $20.00 for breakfast? A few eggs and (fresh fruit?). The fruit was old and a lot of bugs on the table!-----------------DO NOT EAT THERE!

Beach was great. Hotel was good, the location was away from downtown , which was nice to enjoy the beach, but limited selection of restaurants. We ended up going to the town frequently for food. Staff at the restaurants was very friendly, front desk staff was not very friendly though. What put me off were the hidden charges revealed during checkout. The hotel added $12 per day Service & resort fee, and additional $100 resort fee per stay.

We enjoyed ourselves. This is a very nice hotel, it is very clean and they work non-stop maintaining it. The service is wonderful, the staff was very conscientious and concerned that their guests have a good time. The food is exceptional, we made sure they knew that. The only negative thing for us when we arrived was we were informed that there is an additional $30.00 a day resort fee. That amounted to over $200.00. This information was not provided by the online travel website. Neither is it on the hotel web site. We would have liked to spend that money in a different way. The hotel took us back to the airport free of charge when we left. That was their way of apologizing for the extra daily fee.

The Intercontinental Presidente was a nice resort. The rooms were big and clean. The area was beautiful. We saw whales and dolphins jumping in the bay right outside the hotel. We even saw a stingray jumping/flying. The hotel is located at the end of Puerto Vallarta, which is good and bad. It was great for quietness and no bothersome venders. It was bad for the food part of it. The restaurant selection at the hotel was very limited. For dinner, you had a choice of a Italian restaurant(fancy) or a buffet at $25 per person. We were looking for something less expensive and more casual!

Hidden costs, hidden fees. Add about 30.00 us funds to the cost of your room offer at check out. Very nice overall, inconvenient to Downtown.

The staff was friendly, and beach was small but beautiful. Rooms were spacious and clean.Restarants averaged $80/dinner and food was average. Dining rooms were empty. We switched to the Sheraton. $10 cheaper, beach 3 times larger and breakfast buffetts were much better. We ate downtown because the sheraton is right downtown. The peso exchange rate was also slightly better. The location is just too far out of town.

limited sun hotel is on north facing cove- quaint but lacks ability to take a walk or jog along the beach only one pool- not so good to mix all client types together, and again it lacks good sun and beach exposure staff was friendly, exercise room was small and equipment limited, no view , j old and outdated equipment. not the easiest to get to other beaches or to town

Price was O.K. You guys gave it 4 stars. It should be more like 3 stars. The place was nice back in the 50's. Today, like old starlets, the hotel is in need of a face lift. The bed and sheets were what you would expect in a Motel 6 and the shower was prefect if you were under 4'11". Had a nice ocean view but could never enjoy it since it overlooked the pool where there were drunks down there until the wee hours. At the pool you had to basically serve yourself since there were 6 servers milling around the bar but not one came to our table to ask if we needed anything.
