The location is great. The lobby and the pool/beach are perfect and the staff was very friendly. HOWEVER, once you go upstairs to the rooms, it's like you're in a different hotel. Apparently, the renovation of the hotel ended on the first level. The hallways were old and dirty. Dirty carpet and old plaster on the walls. The room was average, but the bathroom was very outdated with a very small tub. The room did not at all match the first level of the hotel. Aside from that, we had a great time. It wasn't crowded at all (maybe cause we went in July), and the food at the hotel restaurants was great too.

The atmosphere; very relaxed. The carpet was old in the hallways. Overall, besides the carpet - the room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel was not worth the money and the service was a big disappointment. The management of this hotel seems to walk in very tight shoes. Only one restaurant was open at a time and the selection was quite limited. However the breakfast was excellent. We did nit touch anything in the mini bar, but they still charges us for the 2 bags of coffee they had left next to the coffee maker. The transportation costs for the airport shuttle bus was announced to be $9.00 but we were charges $33.00 from the airport to the hotel and $24.00 from the hotel to the airport. The servants at the breakfast buffet were nice and polite, but the bartenders were flat out rude. The liquor selection was quite limited although I noticed a bottle of Crown Royal. When I ordered a Crown Royal on the rocks I was told that this could not be served as it was import. However, when the bartender was told that I of course would pay for it and that I was not an all inclusive customer I was served and paid &22.00 for the shot. The beach and the service at the beach chairs were good with polite waiters, but everything was overpriced. Although it is not announced in the brochure or at the website, this hotel is for All Inclusive Visitors. This is our last trip to the Intercontinental Presidente in Cancun.

The hotel location was great. The strip of beach was small but it had the best water and the water was so calm you could lay in the water, great for kids and families. The bathroom could have been updated the tub looked outdated. Service was great but I did feel that the "Presidente Club" people were annoying as they tried to sell the club, but after affirmatively telling them we were not interested they stopped. The hotel is closed to shops within a 10 minute walk, or 5 min bus ride. There is a small market across the stree where you can purchase food. No mini fridge or microwave so you are basically forced to eat out or at the hotel.

It had a beautiful beach and were very accommodating for early check-in and late check-out. Food not so good, halls a bit dingy. Not sure ice was filtered water. The best beach along the coast as far as I could tell, but a bit crowded. The pool was very cold - but it was a cold week. Staff was very, very nice and the room was spotless and cheerful. Grounds were pretty and clean, too. They were very accommodating about checking in early and checking out late, which was really terrific as our flights did not correspond to check-in/out times. One thing for those with kids - the kids club, we heard, was closed in February, which doesn't make any sense to me. No beach toys or playground.

We went with our family, including 2 kids, 2 years and 4 years old and this place is great. Excellent pools, excellent service, great beach, great food...no doubt about it. It is a nice location, walking distance for some places....nice area. We got a great room with ocean view. Take it, trust me !!!

My trip to Cancun was for bussiness reasons but staying one more day for fun at this hotel make it worth it. Great beach, lots of chairs and space for kids to play in the sand and the beach looks like a pool. Clean room, comfy beds, nice toileteries and even ocean view just because it was available! I would have like some kind of breakfast included deal so I could have start my day just at this site and enjoyed the sun.

Nice Beach, Friendly Staff Dirty interior, Poor Food, Room AC did not work, Not a good location It definetly is not a 4 star hotel. Exterior is fairly nice, lobby is OK. Rooms and Hallways are dirty and need work. Our AC did not work and they were slow to help with this. Food is Poor and expensive, Hotel was dead, no people hardly and no entertainment or functions.Would not recommend this hotel.Beach was good.

The presidente is well worth the moderate cost. We only stayed for four days but will certainly return. The beach is very wide, powder white sand and water only chest deep at 50 yards out- very safe for kids and roped off for added safety. This beach will probably stay unaffected by future storm damage due to the specifics of its protected location. The dozens of large thatch umbrellas and lounge chairs with fixed tables enable food and bar service right out to the sand. Shade or sun without moving at all. The pools are spotless; the lobby, restaurants and bars elegantly done. There are tour operators in the lower lobby who will sell you trips but they were not pushy; we had rented a car so we simply did our own thing. We did breakfast included (till 11 a.m.) which was better than most buffets -including champagne- the day usually started with more than two! It was well worth the cost. We ate out at larenziellos and limoncellos- two restaurants that rival anything in NY or boulder. The front desk didn't have our room ready on arrival so with a few drinks on the house at the beach bar we waited a half hour while our BETTER ROOM/ocean view was prepared- no additional cost. Our car was at our disposal within minutes- yes, you should tip. The flight crews also stay here- they must know where the best places are. It is not a loud 20 something place- for that there are many other hotels. If you are into relaxing this is a true value. It is a gem.

This was an unbelievably relaxing, enjoyable location. The food was great, the room was perfect, and the beach was amazing! Every meal we had was well prepared and presented by the amiable staff. Our room had a balcony (highly recommended) and faced the pools, beach, and water. The beach itself has to be the best in Cancun. No rocks, large, plenty of seats, umbrella's, and palm trees. I was totally impressed with this hotel, and will be back again next year!

Good location and pool area. The staff and their unwillingness to accommodate. Long story short, the room smelled and the maid just sprayed deodorizer on it instead of cleaning it. After that we had to fight with the staff to be given a different room.

it's a very nice and clean hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. The beach is gorgous, with white sand and, what was very important to me, calm water. There were no strong waves so you can relax and sit /literary/ in the water. I will come back there. ps.There is a supermarket right across the street from the hotel with very resonable prices. Tulum is A MUST. Unforgettable place. izabela from New York

The hotel charges for everything. The Wifi is overpriced, they charge for bottled water, for coffee. The walls were quite thin and could hear the conversations in the hall. We had a baby next door that woke me up every night multiple times. I would have switched rooms but that would have been too much of a hassle (we shop alot) The beach is pefect. just as quiet as everyone says. Service on the beach was impecable. the minute we put the flag in the sand for service they were right next to us, lunch on the sand was great too!. Go on the sailboat in the bay with [...]. share it with another couple for a good price ;) The continental breakfast was ok. Go to the one under the palapa (thatched grass roof) which is better and they make omlets to order. Some of the food was cold. For Dinner, theres only one option to eat out in the hotel but room service was great! The bar which boasts 600 Tequilas is beautiful but would be nicer if we could actually drink any of the 600 tequilas!! They only let you chose from a few different bottles. For everything else, go to the Centro. eat where the locals eat, shop where the locals shop, ask the locals if your lost. dont worry about getting SICK! We stuck out like a sore thumb but NEVER were treated badly. oh and I have to say, GO ZIPLINING with Selvatica!!! overall it was a nice place to stay if you dont plan on just staying at the hotel.

The beach front. Security. A stranger broke into our room while I was taking a shower. When my wife came back to the hotel found out that a stranger was inside the room and escaped from the terrace. All doors were locked. However, the front door lock was loose and the security guard was receiving people arriving at the lobby. Security manager changed us to a different room and invited us breakfast and everybody was very concerned and friendly. However, this type of situations should not happen in a hotel of this category.

I just got back from a week in Cancun. Like everybody else, I always stress about whether or not the hotel will be alright. I usually read all the reviews beforehand and try to get the most for my dollar. I had read reviews about this hotel that the water pressure was low and that the A.C. didn't work. I did not find that to be the case. I did pay for an ocean view and that's exactly what I got. The room was very clean. The water pressure was great. The A.C. worked fine and we had it on the whole time. Both pools were impecably clean. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Its only minutes on the bus to downtown if you want to go to Mercado 28 or Walmart. Great value for the money.

The staff at the desk wasn't the friendliest, at times rather rude. You could tell they catered to wealthy spanish speaking individuals and not the average Joe America wanting to have a nice vacation. The beach was perfect for family, with shallow waters and calm waters. The pool was nice. The bar/waiter staff could have been more friendly helpful. They also jad the attitiude of us not being wealthy spanish speaking indivisduals. VERY close to the clubs and center of town. About 15-20 minute walk to clubs. We stayed on the beach and pool the entire time. The shower ceiling had black mold all over it.

The beach was beautiful. The food was gross and the beds are hard as rocks. Not a 5 star experience. The only good things were the beach and the pool, and even at the pool they had no hot tubs. We would not go back ever.

Loved the hotel, 5 stars all the way! Stayed with my mom and sister for my moms 60th. Very clean, safe and gracious! High expectations that were completely met! Room was 2 double beds and a clean bathroom, ocean view. Would stay again with my husband and 2 kids. Beach was the best in all of Cancun. I checked everything out in detail and would recommend this hotel with high regards. The hotel staff (only one) was pushy with going to the "book your yearly plan" but if you tell them I will do it at another time, it was fine. Staff was at every call and hotel was perfect! I loved this hotel compared to other 4-5 star hotels. The decor was Mexican and well kept. I look for clean, odor free and happy workers, all which were completed with my 5 night 6 day vacation. Bathroom is small, but so are all of Europes! It is all worth the beach, beds, room, hospitality, and safety of the hotel. The cab drover told me this is one of the VIP hotels. It certainly was. Anyone who had a bad experience did not book correctly or did not enjoy a relaxing stay and enjoy the beach. I loved it and will most certainly go back..... Enjoy, you will not regret it!

The service level at the hotal was very good. Waiters remembered your room number and always greeted you well. The food at the main restaurant was excellent. I travel the world and i can say the food I received was very good. We had a ground floor room facing the ocean which came with a nice patio and a hamock. The two pools are very nice and the atmoshpere is definately for familes. The beach is very nice.

The beach was the nicest of Cancun for swimming. The staff at the reception were terribly rude. The doors and walls are so thin, you can hear people around - no privacy. The staff at the reception were terribly rude. The doors and walls are so thin, you can hear people around - no privacy. Safe in the room was broken. There were weird noises (maybe cockroaches?) in the room that kept us up all night.
