bit of a damp squibon arrival the hotel looks to be a pleasant enough place to stay,it has beautiful views in a very nice setting.so we park the car and enter.the guy on the front desk was nice enough turned out he was running the place.this was when it went downhill,we were given the key to room 21 and told there was a bit of blackness on the bathroom ceiling so we thought OK we`ll go with it.we entered the room to be faced with beelzebub`s own latrine,so we made a rapid retreat to the front desk where we requested another room, which to give the guy his due he gave us with no problem.on entering room 22 for that was the key to our new abode we were instantly accosted by an evil overpowering damp smell that was not for shifting.the rooms themselves were tidy and clean enough but the hotel itself obviouslly has a problem with dampnesshad it not been for the fact that everywhere in the ft.william area was fully booked i know we would have left not to be darkened by those doors again, but as it was we remained.we never ate or drank in the hotel so i can`t comment on that side of it.upon checking out two days later my better half told the manager a few home truths to which he promptly gave us a discount of £55,which i thought was quite sweet of him.all in all i`ve come across many places worse than this on my travels and the manager was very understanding but the smell of dampness is just too much so i would never return or reccomend it to anyone i like,so to all you swines i dislike i say go for it.big kev

We had a room facing the back and it was very quiet until the neighbours came up to their room when I realised thewall insulation wasn't that great. There is a small bar and the breakfast room overlooking the loch is very pretty. We had breakfast as an optional extra as the room only was £27. The breakfast was £7.50 which seemed a bit excessive for what it was. Although they have this nice dining room there is no evening meals so make sure you eat before getting there as there didnt seem to be anywhere to eat around. The hotel is much further out from Fort William centre than I had realised so we also had to pay for a taxi to get there due to the rain, so all in all it wasn't as cheap as I had thought but pleasant enough for the price for the area.

Hotel Could Be So Much Better & A Great Place To StayI had read various previous reviews on this hotel which were mixed and we decided to take a gamble. We were very disappointed. I have no doubt that other reviewers have had a good stay but it would very much depend on the staff working there. We called ahead to try to get directions to the hotel but it appeared teh gentleman on reception spoke very little other than basic english. On arrival, half way through check in he answered a call on the phone and another woman handed us our keys wordlessly and left us to work out where our rooms were. The rooms themselves seemed comforable enough but we discovered over the course of our stay that the milk portions in the room were out of date (we tried to explain at reception but it was not understood), the bed looked as if it had previously been slept in (hairs in the sheets) and the shower did not work very well and leaked all over the bathroom floor as the seal from the glass shower curtain appeared to be missing. On checking out in the morning, we waited around in reception for at least 15 minutes (while another member of our party finished packing) and no-one appeared at the desk - if they had we would have complained about our stay. This hotel has the potential to be a great place to stay but our experience this time has meant that we are likely to book elsewhere next time.

Cannot RecommendStaff & training clearly at issue. Room smelled damp and virtually sub terraean due to slope at back. Bathroom not clean - carpet dubious. Unfortunate welcome since I had mistakenly booked room only and was surprised to see this on registration and was told 'It is in B&W - It is written!' Conversation not moved on to cost of breakfast, happy to serve it, when it could be had. This was not only down to poor command of English by frontline staff but was ultimately about little or no professional training i.e. owners neglecting investment in staff critical to service delivery. No discipline - staff dress super casual, loud music playing from bar when there was noone there so for staff benefit outside of bar area. If I had not paid in advance I would have left on arrival.Bed covers felt damp - luckily I was so tired I slept anyway. Was not however a restful experience. 'Manager' did engage me on second evening since he was concerned that there had been a misunderstanding at check-in and invited me to have breakfast the following morning. I decided not to do this since he followed up with how chaotic it had been that day. It appears that Innseagan is gaelic for nightmare.

Nice place, clean room, good value. All good except the person at the desk when we arrived was not very helpful. We suspect she is not the standard person and was just filling in. Regardless she could not answer any questons. Otherwise a great place for the money and we would go back.

Enjoyable stayThe accommodation was very welcoming and the room was quite spacious. The shower water did come out a bit hot though.Location wise it was not too far from the town but you would need a car to get to a good restaurant.

Friendly but had shortcomingsEvening dining was not available. This was not a serious problem but we felt we should have been informed upon arrival. All other services up to scratch.

Old property but lovelyI prefer these old hotels as they have character. Someone staying there the same time as us said fawlty towers. I agree but in a good way, Basil and Manuel isn't there. The chap running the hotel is great you;'ll love him. The bar has no draught beers but a good selection of bottles and shorts. The breakfast was spot on, a good choice.

Long Weekend stay at Innseagan House Hotel Both my Wife & myself were extremely satisfield with our stay at the Hotel. We had an excellent room which overlooked Loch Linnhe and found the Reception Staff to be very welcoming and helpful. The only downfall was that the local Public Transport provided by Stagecoach was not verygood, a car being required if you want to get about.

a great wee placeWe had a great stay - a pretty standard B&B that feels a bit like a hostel for grown ups - but the staff were great. Straightforward, no nonsense service, nothing a problem, and everything delivered with a sense of humour

don,t it was disgusting worse than fawlty towers woken up at 7-40 man painting bedroom windowschildren playing football on landing at midnight we had family room had to climb to get into bed room so small bed was pushed against wall no air con so room stifling couldn,t open windows because of gnats coming in we were covered in bites all together a total dissaster

Not the best we've stayed atAverage accommodation - shower was cold. Fried breakfast was cooked in unclarified oil so little black bits everywhere.

One night onlyBe aware that the advertised charge does not include breakfast. It took a long time to check in as there was no one manning reception and no one responded to the bell. Eventually I had to go to the kitchen to get someone

A bit run-down and not well organised-I had to insist on paying for breakfast since they had no record! However, overall, very good value.

shower cable was broken and the hot water took ages to come through. Personnel very friendly. Hotel on average is good value for money.

Basic accomodation not cheapThe room was okay but the bathroom had cracked tiles and missing grout. Overrall expensive as no breakfast included and no cooking facilities all of which you can get at a bunkhouse for much less money. Some bunkhouse accomodation is far superior to this. For a hotel it was disappointing.

Sheets stained. Bathroom had very loose tap. Staff more interested in posing with a cigarette outside than giving a service. Walls very thin, the people above us spent the entire evening rearranging the furniture noisily. The promised wifi connection did not materialise.

Curate's EggMany cigarette butts at hotel entrance. Room clean apart from soiled lavatory pan. Management responded. Next day room not serviced (excuse no key!). Manager apologised profusely and gave free breakfasts as compensation. Breakfasts - good ,well-managed, in pleasant surroundings with view of loch.
