Innkeepers lodge of the 17th centuryNice location, comfortable bed, but the room was similar to a travel lodge, and was not very clean. The carpet was a horrible green colour and littered with stains; TV did not work properly, and the breakfast was not the bestOn a positive note, parking was free, and the food in the adjacent carvey excellent. However, i will not be staying here again; i am just thankful i got the room for a discounted rate as if i had paid full price, i would have been even more dissappointed than i was!

Poor Customer Service and quite noiseyWas greeted at reception by a grumpy lady who asked if I had stayed with them before, when I answered no she just turned around and walked out to the back office for 5 minutes before coming back and giving me the key to the room. It seemed to me she really didnt want to be there. Room was cramped, particularly as I am disabled. The shower cubicle was rusty with just one hand rail which didnt stop me slipping when getting out of the shower. Wouldn't recommend a disabled person stays at this hotel or anyone who likes to be greeted by a smile. Breakfast area was extremely busy and we had to wait for a table. A lot of young children making a lot of noise at breakfast as well as late into the night, you can hear every little sound from your room which doesnt make for a restful nights sleep.

Customer serviceI found the receptionist to be very unhelpful, miserable and lazy. We arrived at 2.15 with bags etc and was told we could not access the room until 3pm as they were being cleaned, there was no effort in trying too find us a room and we actually had to ask if we could leave our bags in reception for the sake of three quarters of an hour. She was very miserable and it seemed to be an effort to even talk. I have never had this experience at this hotel before and have previously found the staff to be helpful and friendly.

Really good for an overnight stop. Only downside, bathroom bin hadn't been emptied from previous guests and the electrics seemed a bit dodgy on one of the lights and the kettle. Would have preferred two separate beds for my children if possible rather than a double. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food in the pub was amazing value for money and good with it.
