It's always good to stay there from a location standpoint-we stayed on the street side, so it was a bit noisy, but overall, OK.

Close to free Trolley. Drafty windows in room. This was a wonderful and affordable hotel that is close to everything you would want to see in downtown Chicago.

management were very helpful as i had left my passport behind in previous city and a friend fed exed it to the hotel. This hotel was a little gem, very clean central to chicagos main shopping area and very nice hotel. I had a non smoking room and i am a smoker so im not sure if you cant smoke in chicagos hotels or if its just the hotel has no rooms available

My wife and I stayed at the In of Chicago over a Friday and Saturday night. You cannot beat the location or the price. It's a block off Michigan Ave/Magnificent mile. and an easy 4 blocks to the Metra Red line. We drove from Minneapolis and didn't need the car. It was very convenienct to I90 if you are driving as well. The hotel bar and lobby are very nice as was the staff. The rooms are small, but they work. If you're in town on a budget this is a great hotel. You're in the heart of downtown Chicago and you'll have money left over for some convenient shopping.

The rooms are neat & clean but small. Bathroom is so small 2 people can not function normally in it at the same time. Small elevators that are slow not uncommon to wait 10 minutes to get to your room. I would not say this hotel is a bargain even though the rates are a tad bit lower than the nearest competior. No parking you must park 1/2 block away at 42. a day . OUTRAGEOUS

Great location to magnificent mile shopping, CTA subway and bus stops and right in the heart of Chicago. We shopped, ate our way through the Taste of Chicago and did the Bucktown/Wicker Park food tour. Also took an architectural boat tour. Hotel was comfortable and just big enough.

All the staff but the ladies behind the desk were great! The ladies behind the desk! our room was small and not romantic!

This place was very good indeed. The staff were polite and helpful, and the hotel was very clean and comfy. The best thing about it is the location. DONT settle for somewhere that is a few quid per night cheaper but further out, as the Inn of Chicago is very well located and you will not need a taxi unless you find it hard to walk or are plain lazy. Chicago is also generally a real suprise. Its beautifully clean and far more up-market than we expected.

Front desk was rude every single time I spoke to them, from check-in to check-out. I had a faulty key that was replaced twice. I could hear all hall traffic clearly from inside the room. The hotel just did not seem to want to accommodate us, which should be a tenet of any hotel.

went to chicago for business so I needed central hotel close to business and not to hard on budget. the hotel fit the bill perfectly. room was large and quiet although tired and dated. bed comfortable but did not expect luxury and was not disappointed. bathroom was tiny for two people but reasonably clean. only problem was bathtub which drained very slowly. rooms lacked wireless internet access but free internet in lobby compensated sufficiently. if traveling again to chicago downtown on a limited budget, I would gladly stay here again.

Upon arrival in the morning our rooms were not ready. I had 2 rooms when we got back at 4:30 1 room was done other was not. we stayed on the 12 floor and when the other room was done they gave us keys that did not open the door. They wanted me to keep comin down to the desk and were not friendly at all. Good location and price but wasted alot of my time runnin around playin games with hotel staff.

Location. Unfriendly staff, small washrooms, dirty carpets. The location of the hotel was great. The carpets were filthy, the sheets had holes in them and the air conditioning was very noisy. They should continue with their renovation and may be they should also renovate their unfriendly staff.

There is no argument about the fantastic location. Room was good and spacious. Staff not really tourist orientated, ie info. not great.

They gave away our queen bed on Valentine's day and gave us two doubles instead. The front desk people were rude every time we had to deal with them (which was often). They offered us a "King suite" for our second night since they messed up the first time. We went up to the room, and they either hadn't cleaned it or someone was still in it! So instead we got a queen which is what we had booked and payed for initially. The walls were paper thin, and you could hear everything from people going in and out of the elevator to the neighbors arguing. The cable available had a very limited selection. The elevator could only comfortably fit 2 people. On a positive note, the concierge was very nice and helpful, the decor was really cool, and the valet parking attendants were very pleasant as well. However, even with the positive experiences, we would still never stay there again!

The rooms were smaller than expected. The bathroom was smaller than expected, and the bathroom sink was so small I had to put the toilet seat cover down in order to put some toiletry articles out to shave, brush teeth and apply deoderant.Towels were clean and some had worn out spots through them. The shower had mold in the corners (we had no bath tub), I used hand towels to stand on while in the shower.

We spent the 4th of July weekend with family from out of town and decided to stayed at the hotel for the convienent location. Although we were impressed with the location of the hotel and the modernized lobby. We were unimpressed with the elevators and room size. Both were small and cramped. The elevators were slow. We were especially grossed out when we discovered one of the beds had blood stained on the pillow case and sheet. When we informed the front desk, one of the concierge was rude, argumentative, and very unprofessional. The manager was apolegetic and would have compensated us but after the experience with the concierge, I would never go back. We paid a fair price for the hotel but customer service really ruined the hotel experience for us. We travelled a lot and have stayed at a variety of hotels and have never been treated rudely as we had been this weekend.

The lobby. Extremely rude staff. It was astonishing how rude. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The desk clerks were extremely rude and the room was overpriced for what it was. Basically a Motel 6 with a renovated lobby to make it seem like a sophisticated Downtown hotel.

We had a one night (Saturday) stay at the Inn of Chicago. The hotel is very centerally located, 1/2 block off Michigan Ave. Easy walking to shopping, Navy Pier, Lake Michigan and MilIenium/Grant Park. It is less than a $10 cab ride (tip included) from the train station, in-fact on Sunday the weather was pleasant so we walked the mile or so back to the train station. We were able to check-in shortly after Noon, the Front Desk had all the paperwork, the clerks were friendly and efficient. The lobby was large, clean and inviting. Our room was on the 21st floor, there were three elevators, albiet small, but clean and fast. Our room was very clean, again albiet a bit small, but for the VERY REASONABLE PRICE it was very nice, window sort-of overlooked Michigan Avenue to the Southwest.. The bed was comfortable and had a 'down' cover and the TV (cable) worked fine. The room heat was also woking fine and quiet. The bathroom was modern and clean. Check-out on Sunday morning was friendly and quick. All-in-all I hope Travelocity books us at this hotel the next time we stay in Chicago. We were very satisified!

My mom and sister and I went to Chicago for the holiday. The room was small but it served the purpose. The location was amazing and the dining recommendations they gave were outstanding, We are planning to return to Chicago over the summer and we will surely be staying there.
