The Inn at the Loretto was at the heart of everything. It's just steps from the Santa Fe square, first-class restaurants (including its own top-rated restaurant), Canyon Road, fabulous shopping, wonderful galleries. The concierge was enormously helpful and the rooms were quiet and beautifully-appointed. This hotel encompasses everything you'd ever want: great restaurant, happy hour bar, fabulous shops, its own spa, a business center, a lovely pool, a fitness center -- whatever you want in a hotel, it's there. The staff couldn't have been nicer.

Beautiful facility, friendly staff and very comfortable bed.

My friend, a bed and breakfast owner in NM, and I (live outside of Austin, TX) were in town staying at this establishment in order to collaborate on a book. We arrived last Sunday, and everything seemed to be acceptable. The valet normally did a good job at retrieving the vehicle on a timely basis, and I attribute that to tipping $ 5 per service. The maid service was also good, and I tipped them $ 5 per day. We frequented the restaurant and bar, and I always tipped 20%. Further, I was ALWAYS cordial to the staff. We stayed at least two days longer than anticipated, as my friend had to be hospitalized overnight at St. Vincent's due to re-injury of her ribs suffered when someone rear-ended her vehicle last year. The doctors also suspected that she may have suffered a heart attack, but she is still waiting for the results of all tests. Last night, after dining at the hotel restaurant and spending $ 141 before the tip, my friend and I returned to the room. She jumped into her bed immediately, as she is still not in good condition after this health scare. I turned back the comforter cover to get ready for bed myself, as we planned to leave the hotel early and to have breakfast on the way back to drop off my friend at her place. I was shocked to find a small, round, brown bug under the cover!!! I took a drinking glass and showed it to my friend, who was familiar with the bedbug epidemic currently occurring throughout the U.S., as she is a bed and breakfast owner. She receives alerts via e-mail about various issues, including this one. We also looked at pictures of bedbugs online via my laptop. We were 100% certain that this was indeed a bedbug!!! I went downstairs immediately and showed it to the desk clerk, who was by herself, and there were at least two parties checking in. I requested to see the manager, and she advised me that there were NO managers on duty, which I find very strange, considering that this is a fairly large facility. I told her that I wanted a full refund, which she promised, but I told her that I needed to see a manager and also that I wanted someone to come to my room immediately to see the bugs crawling on the bed themselves. She advised me that there was no one who could come. I advised her that this was unacceptable. She told me that we could move to another room, and I tried to explain to her that my friend was already in bed and that she was still quite ill. Besides this point, it was already after 8 pm, and it would take us at least 30 minutes to move all of our belongings. On top of this, I told her that if this room had bedbugs, it was possible that the other rooms had them as well! I asked her if there was ANY manager on duty, and she advised me that there was just the restaurant manager on duty. I went back to the room, and I contacted this lady and requested that either she or one of her colleagues to come up. No one wanted to come up, even though we had just dined at the restaurant, and had complimented her personally on the food and the service. I told my friend that I was not sleeping in this bed, so I sat down in the leather chair next to the bed. My friend suggested that I take the comforter and to shake it out and to use that to cover up with. I started to do that, and I found THE NEXT BUG crawling on top of the comforter!!! I took a clean coffee cup and captured this bug and proceeded down to the restaurant, where I found the manager. She was becoming increasingly agitated when I told her that I wanted a full refund and that I wanted someone to come up to see for the bugs for themselves. I went back up to the room and called the front desk and told her that I wanted Security to come up when they come on shift at 11 pm. At 11:15 pm, there was a knock at my door. I opened the door, and a gentleman came storming in and introduced himself only as the General Manager. He did not even give his name. He told me that he was very upset that he had to come into the hotel just for this problem and that I had berated his employees for an hour. He told me that we could have moved to another room, and I advised HIM that my friend (now sleeping) was quite ill and had been hospitalized since we had stayed at his facility. Further, he told me that these were NOT bedbugs but "tree bugs." I asked him if he were an entomologist, and to this, I received NO reply. As we were at an impasse, he said that there was nothing else to discuss, and he stormed out. There was NO apology about the bugs, there was NO refund of any sort, etc. Consequently, I am calling every legal authority, etc. to make a formal complaint about this situation. I have traveled all over the world, and I have NEVER experienced anything like this. PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THEIR HOTEL, AS THE GENERAL MANAGER APPARENTLY HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE CLIENTS!!!

The Inn and Spa at Loretto was fabulous! Our family of four had an excellent stay in their beautiful suite. We had originally booked a smaller room but upgraded to a suite to accommodate our teenage daughters and all of our "stuff". The front desk was wonderful in helping us move to a bigger room. Our spa day was great and the fitness facility was excellent for being open twenty four hours. We used it early in the morning and sometimes in the evening. The pool was lovely, but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate enough for us to use it the week we were there. The location of the Inn was key because we were able to walk to all of the museums, shops, restaurants, Canyon Road, etc. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone looking for an enjoyable stay in Santa Fe. Ps The bar and restaurant were excellent as well, especially the "green drinks" and the vegetarian selection on the menu.

I enjoyed staying in this hotel a lot. It is walking distance to most enjoyable things in Santa Fe, including the downtown plaza, good restaurants, neat shopping. The bed was very comfortable, appointed with down comforters and pillows. In addition, the room, which was the lowest priced room as far as I know, was accompanied by a communal balcony. The room had a fireplace and a large flat screen TV and seemed to be insulated from any noise outside the room. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

This is the best hotel within the city center of Santa Fe. The interior and exterior of this hotel is outstanding, much better than any other hotel in the downtown center. It was very charming, elegant and very quiet. The service was great and the rooms where very clean and well appointed since this hotel was recently re modeled. Also great location, surrounded by some of the best shops and just one and a half blocks to the city center plaza.

Great location, nice common areas, very clean and comfortable room and bed. Mandatory valet, resort fee for extras which should be standard, pushed the best in town restaurant. Great location within an easy walk to churches, and galleries and restaurants. Nice, clean property and room. Disappointed in the stated services for the resort fee which was maid's tip, wireless internet, business center and coffee. Hotel restaurant dinner food and service was nice but didn't live up to the one of the best in Santa Fe billing.

The Inn and Spa at Loretto is a very nice place. The room was decorated nicely, and the view was terrific. The only thing we did not like about it was that the heater was very noisey. It would come on and rattle and blow like the kind of heaters in a cheap motel. This is not a cheap motel and should have better ventilation.

We were given a room right outside the 2nd floor elevator. Room was so small and did not have faux fireplace as told when I booked the room. Working fireplace in room would cost 700 more a night. (ha! ha!) Room was average. Cost was too high at 350.00 per night. Rent a casita instead.

I was very surprised with the hotel charging for EVERYTHING. Amenities are not free : they are charging 10 dollars/night for the pool, the fitness center internet and stuff we did not use... Valet parking is no less than 16 dollars per day. The cleaning ladies were very loud in the morning shouting and talking loud in the hallway to the point we had to get out of the bedroom around 8am on holiday time to ask for some quiet time. The heating was turned off everyday and our room was cold at all time, when we came in we turn the heater on but it was really loud and uncomfortable. The restaurant was disappointing as well. Worst service. It took ten minutes before someone came to our table after we ask for some attention. Half our bottle of Champagne was on the table as the waitress could not open it and nothing was replaced not discounted. My fish was not cooked but the waitress only showed up after 20 minutes. Overall, the only thing we appreaciated was the cosy atmosphere of the bar.

This hotel is right in the center of it all. You can walk to any and everything. The hotel tacked on an extra $12 per day hotel fee for services like cleaning, use of the fitness pool and swimming pool. The hotel was nice and the rooms were quaint. The lounge/bar is great with the fireplace and option to sit out by the pool. I didn't find the staff overly friendly (except for the valet guys). The spa services weren't worth the price 10,000 waves does a much better job overall. I really liked the location of the inn and the convenience to the center of town. I'd recommend staying here again.

I enjoyed my three night stay at the Loretto Inn. It is only a few minutes walk to all the major attractions in downtown Santa Fe. The staff was courteous and helpful, especially the valet service. The facilities are older and could use a little refurbishing, but everything one would need is at your fingertips here. I would definitely stay again.

I travel at least 40-45 weeks out of the year on business and have to say that my recent stay at the Inn and Spa at Loretto was better than great. It is very important that I feel comfortable at my home away from home. The staff was very responsive and willing to help with any special requests. The location amazing! More than I could have time to do was within steps from the hotel's front door. I loved the hotel so much that I am taking my mother there for her birthday!

The hotel was undergoing a large, much needed, renovation during our stay. At 9AM the noise began and went all day long. We got in at 1AM the night before and couldn't sleep in due to noise. Only one elevator was in use due to construction. It cost $16 per day to park our car including valet. There was no top sheet on the bed, only a duvet cover that may or may not have been changed before we arrived. It wasn't changed during our stay. So, when we slept, we were either too hot because of having to sleep under a down comforter, or we were too cold having to sleep without a sheet or blanket being available. The lighting in the room was poor as well. There are better places to stay in Santa Fe.

The Inn and Spa at Loreto provides an excellent location for enjoying the historic district of Santa Fe. In addition, aside from a noisy forced air heater, room was very comfortable. Staff was also very accommodating -- I made standing order for breakfast for my stay and it was provided each morning. 24/7 business center for e-mails and airline conformations.

Inn was at a perfect location. Staff was great. Safe and very secure. One of the best restaurants and menus we have experienced in a long time. Definitely plan to stay there again and would recommend it to friends and business associates.

In a great location. Management and staff was horribly rude and unhelpful in many ways. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel. While the room and the building were nice, the staff and lack of customer service, made it totally not worth it. There were only 3 employees in the entire hotel I would have hired to represent my company, as far as the front desk staff, concierge, and hotel management they should all be fired for the lack of customer service and support.

very cute hotel. spa has no steam or sauna (not really a "spa"). restaurant is excellent. service was generally great and the people were kind as can be. although the first night, the sink exploded in my husband's face, and the reaction we got from the staff (let us explain to you how to use it) was baffling. they fixed it in the end. great location. pool is pretty. room service was hit or miss. i don't like their policy to only change linens after forth night! but you can request them to change earlier, which we did. room was small but cute. i would go back.

My husband and I stayed here and could not have been more pleased and surprised. We read some of the other negative reviews on this hotel and we cannot understand what they are talking about. We travel regularly, I will only stay in a four star hotel, and this may be the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. My husband booked this hotel and I was nervous about our stay due other reviews.. Have no fear this hotel is wonderful and clean and comfortable. The staff is very kind and prfessional. The pictures online do not represent the hotel. Our room on the 3rd floor had a small candel light fireplace, white down comforter, flat panel tv, mp3 player, everything was clean and new. The general hotel is charming and comfortable with a large fireplace in the bar and free hot apple cider in the lobby. The bed is so comfortable, I have arthritis and cannot sleep in most beds without pain. I slept 11 hour in this bed on our first night and I woke up pain free. Book it you will be so happy you did but do upgrade your room because we did so I cannot speak to the room quality of the standard rooms, we even had a balcony with views of cathedral and mountians.
