An absolute gem!Perfectly situated for Stratford, beautiful surroundings, really friendly staff, great breakfast (especially after a night out in Stratford!) and lovely room and facilities. Highly recommended - we will be staying there again!

I found the hotel as good as any travel inn, but I would never pay their full rate here.Hotel staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and tidy. If you dont expect the standard to be any higher than a travel lodge then you won't be dissapointed. But do not pay their full rate,it is way too high for what you get.

Hotel??To describe this place as a 4* Hotel is really stretching the definition to incredible limits. It is more of a B&B attached to a golf club. Suffice to say that on returning after a long day out in Stratford we were informed at 7:45PM that the kitchen was closed and there was no food available. The nearest village is a very brisk 25 minute walk away and no taxi company would pick us up and take us there as we were too far out of Stratford. In the end we had to have a pizza delivered as there was no alternative. Had we been informed when we checked in that the kitchen was not open on a Saturday night we could have made other arrangements. In addition although the room was a good size you needed a pair of binoculars to see the tiny TV set which was straight out of the 1980s...it only had 4 channels. We will not be staying again.

We did not end up staying the night, the room was just a square dull boring cold room, 1970's bathroom suite, very small bathroom, lino on floor and the toilet overhanging the door entrance. Not welcoming, refund would be nice!

Friendly staff. Room quite large for 4 people. Beds good and clean. Quiet/rural location. The only negative aspect of this hotel was the bathroom. Not the cleanest bath, and the 'airco' (or whatever it was...) made A LOT of noise. Really unbearable. Some of us actually turned off the lights (which turned of the airco as well) when they went to the bathroom. The breakfast was ok (with a choice of a full English or more continental style breakfast). Other than that, i can recommend this hotel to others.

The room was a good size but too shabby, for example neither of the lamps worked and the shower was very old. The surrounding area was pleasant and not too far away from Stratford.

The hotel was really lovely and the rooms were very big and comfortable, the only thing that let the room down was the tv but this is only a minor negative/ Lovely place would definitely stay again.

Really a very nice place. Slightly on the tacky side, (wineglasses in the bar with measures on etc.), but for the money what can one expect in England! The staff were sweet but utterly hopeless, not at all professional but they certainly tried hard to please! The breakfast; I found was dreadful, but if you are not a vegetarian, and you like geasy fry-ups, with cheap bacon and sausages then I think that you may enjoy it. I did find the Jam in little packets just a little too hilarious though, and the lack of condiments, and a milk jug really started to get annoying. The room was quite nice and very spacious, with an oak beam running through. The bathroom suite however was like something out of a 1970's sit-com, and the cold tap in the bath only managed a dribble. The water was nice and hot though. The bed was very comforatable, and the linen was clean and tasteful-no grotty patterns, just simple white cotton, nice. All in all, we had a lovely time, but I think it we had paid much more we would not have been quite so pleased, but I do recommend a visit, especially as the location is so nice. It is only 5 minutes by cat or taxi to Stratford.

We arrived late on a Saturday Afternoon and found no staff at reception or in the bar. We eventually had to go into the kitchen and ask someone to book us in to the Family Room for 4 people. When we were shown upstairs the room was large and airy with 4 nicely dressed single beds and seemed to be ok with a good en suite and ample storage. However, after only a short time, we realised this room was directly above the kitchen and we could hear every word the staff said and every closing of a door or clattering of pan and plate. Having return to the hotel late at night and mentioned the kitchen noise to the porter, we were assured we would not be disturbed too early. Early the following Sunday (!) morning the pans started clanking and doors were being slammed below, in addition to which the fire alarm went off - twice, half an hour after which a member of staff knocked on our door and apologised for it disturbing us! One of our party took the bath towel from an allegedly clean set and found it to be heavily marked and grubby. Not a good start to the day. When we looked for the kettle to accompany the tea tray, all we found was the plug and cord; however, this was magnificently compensated for by the lava-like temperatures from the hot tap in the bathroom that made for an oddly acceptable cup of tea, but would probably maim a small child or those of infirm disposition. We all decided to rise against our will because the noise and smell of a cooked breakfast so present in our room from beneath could contain us in our Sunday slumbers no longer. We entered the dining room and sat at a good table laid for four and gave our order for three full 'Golfer's' cooked breakfasts and were told immediately that there were no sausages, but we could have 'extra other things'. About 20 minutes later they arrived without the advertised tomatoes, and with fried bread that appeared to have been marinated in a vast quantity of oil prior to cooking - thus indigestable. When we requested the

Although the hotel had mixed up our booking and were not expecting us until the following day, the relief manager made us very welcome. It was a little strange to be in a hotel with no staff on duty all night but the breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the setting is lovely. unfortunately we had no heating when we woke on the second morning and a phone call to reception went unanswered. The golf course was closed due to the wet conditions and we would have appreciated an email telling us this.

we arrived on a dark wet rainy night but found it without to much hardship.. We were the only people staying there that night and a note had been taped to the front door intructing us to phone a number and the manager would come down and let us in. Seeing as we did not have a cell phone with us it could have been a problem but fortunately the manager had heard the car and came down before we drova away to find a phone. As we were over in uk from Canada it seemed strange to us that face cloths were not provided (towels were) when we asked about that we were told that it was for hygein reasons,\" in case someone else used it\" !!!!!!!!!!! Of course someone else would but hopefully it would be washed first-- we wonder if the towels they set out for us were dissposable ones?

If you just want a bed for the night then this place is OK. I arrived hoping to get something to eat but the restaurant and bar were both closed (at 8:30 pm!). It is in the sticks so there wasn't anywhere to eat within walking distance. The room was comfortable and breakfast then following morning was very good. Just eat before you arrive!

The only problem I had was the hotel did not know I was booked in.
