The Infanta Isabel has clearly seen much better days and badly needs refurbishing. Our room was small, dark, and had a metal pillar running from floor to ceiling in its middle, a real menace when going to the bathroom at night. As for the bathroom, its fixtures were at least half a century old and it was impossible to make use of the hand held shower without flooding the floor. Guests should be given instructions in advance of their arrival for how to work the barrier that seals off the Plaza Mayor, on which the hotel is situated, to vehicular traffic. The hotel's one virtue is it's central location, which couldn't be beat. The twelve euro charge for having one's car parked seems high and prospective guests should be informed of it before they book. The ten euro price of a Continental breakfast is ludicrous, we paid less than a third of that in a caf? next door.
