Staying here was definitely a "high point" for my trip to Cairo; the hotel Indiana was a pleasant surprise. Our room was spacious, very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bathroom was large, clean with hot water all day long. The location of the hotel is very central, with easy access to the Egyptian Museum, Cairo opera house and Downtown. All the staff is very warming and caring and helpful. There was internet access available, in a quiet atmosphere, and at a very reasonable price. We had the opportunity to have dinner at the Indiana hotel roof top terrace, on our last night there, and this was one of the best dinners we had in Cairo. It is really a fantastic place.

Comfy, clean, and secure, that's how I describe Indiana Hotel. Another great thing is that people who work there are very honest and always serve you with a big smile; on my last day of my tour after I had checked out from my room and while waiting in the lobby for the hotel transfer to take me to the airport, the assistant general manager of the hotel came rushing to me and in his hands was my wallet (which was full with my money, credit cards, and documents) that I had completely forgot in my room, moreover he told me even if you had left Egypt I would still send it to you in your country, I felt speechless. I highly recommend this hotel.

I have never seen such an incredibly dirty hotel. Nothing was clean and i'am glad i did not catch a deadly disease. The rooms where dirty and everything was broken. The bedlinen was dirty. the blanket had stains and i don't want to think about where the stain came from. The mattress had a hole in the middle so you had some trouble to get out of the bed. When i came from the bathroom i had the feeling i came out more dirty than i came in. 2 days with cold water and one day with steaming hot water. We did not try anything in the room afraid of starting a fire in which case you could not escape because all fire alarm and hoses were defect. Service was bad. Our wake up calls were at least 45 minutes to late but that did not matter because we woke up as soon as possible to leave the hotel. The elevator reminded me of the tower of terror in Disney but that one was nice. Breakfast served on a dirty dish an a dirty cup. Only egyptian breakfast with one kind of jam, eggs and bread. The staff did not speak english so we did not bother asking questions after a while. The pool was not filled with water because it was broke but i would not recommend swimming unless you have a death wish. I still wake up scrathing when i had a dream about this hotel. Never again and don't go there if you like your life.

Well as we are actually so disgusted we are leaving a review from the hotel itself - that should pretty much say it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To start with the rooms themselves are pretty grim! Air con that really shouldn't be left on for more than 5mins at a time for fear of it blowing-up!, a bathroom thats falling to pieces and of course a toilet that doesn't flush! Outside of the rooms we have a closed swimming pool (apparently we are out-of-season for its use!), and well not much else. The only real saviour would be to leave the hotel (or so we thought!). On questioning the staff for any local info, we got nothing back, just basically spent 20mins trying to explain our questions. Outside the hotel is even worse, with no tourist-friendly places and obviously no help from the hotel on where to find such places. All-in-all a bad stay (and its only been one day so far!)
