First -- compared to the dump next door, the Imperial was OK, I suppose.. Second -- the staff was fairly helpful and courteous -- no complaint about that. Even cleaned up a spilled beer can we told them about in the stairwell. Third -- now the negative. The smell. Not the room itself so much, but the halls and the area behind the lobby. Musty. Mildew. Not good. Next -- bug bites. 5 of them on my legs on Night One. In the morning, I saw and killed a red ant. A hole in the wall. Shampoo? A tiny little packet. Noisy from the room next door. Some noise heard from the street. Loud air conditioner (but it worked fine). Bad lighting. The tv remote worked quite poorly. The stairs were like the filthy painted cement stairways you'd find in covered parking lots. But inside. Guess you get what you pay for -- but at nearly $ for two nights once you add in tax and the parking surcharge ... silly us ... we expected more.

If you have very low standards and expectations..this is the hotel for you. The room smelled bad, after our complaint, hey did spray the room, but that only masked the odor. The iron stain my clothing. Their were stains all over the couch. The place was pure filth. The employees can use some "customer first " training. If they offered me a free night, I would not even give it to a homeless person. The hotel is located right next to a dump "no tell motel". The pictures in the website are not accurate. Our bags were left unattended in the parking lot by the bell boy as scummies looked on. Spend the money and go somewhere else. The niagra area is beautiful..and clean...you will absolutely love it. Do not ruin your visit by staying !!!!!!

I'm not sure what other travelers are referring to, but me and my husband's stay here was a very pleasant experience. The room was very clean and neat. I did not have a problem with my bed or with any leaking toilets. We had a nice view of Victoria Avenue and Centre Street with a distant view of the falls. I liked it so much that I decided to stay at this hotel again, this time with friends. The hotel is in a central location with many eateries and things to do on the strip. I recommend this hotel to singles, couples, families, and students.

The staff were very accomodating and helpful. The decor is dated, and worn, freying carpet, scratched/dents on walls doors. Room was big but dark. Two good size beds. Bedding and room were clean. Bathroom tub very small for a big guy. Felt safe. Tv little selection. Windows do not open and no balcony. Gets really stinky and smokey if you smoke. Whole hallway smelled of smoke. Would definatly spend extra 20 bucks or even stay 10 minute walk further away to get nicer room.

Don't stay here. We were given a smoking room eventhough I asked for a non- I have asthma and I had my 2 month old with me. They told my husband that they did not have any other rooms available. After my 5 yr old found numerous bottles of prescription drugs in a drawer, I demanded a refund- miraculously a non-smoking room appeared. The rroms have peeling wallpaper, broken beds and TVs, running toilets. The pool and fitness center is a joke. I always write favorable reviews, but this place was the worst that I have EVER been to, go to any other hotel but this one; they are tons of others!

Convenient walk to Cliffton Hill and Niagara Falls area. Rooms are clean but bathroom can use some refurbishments. Acceptable service by hotel staff. However, there is one important thing that the hotel has to change. Their mattresses are unsecurely positioned on top of a wooden bed frame and moves out of the wooden support that can post a safety issue not only for kids by adults as well getting off the bed.

"the room was very large and we enjoyed having the sitting room,we went with another couple and it accomanated both of us with enough space. We loved the location very conviente for walking to the orther attractions."

"Very good value, with no obvious downside. The room was very spacious, and reasonably clean. Shower and plumbing were all ok, and so was the bedding. The location is quite nice, only a few minutes walk from the fall. Apart from builing being a bit old, it was a good place for the money. I don't know how it will be during the peak season though, as everything changes dramatically in the fall area depends on the season. "

"The hotel was very good for the money, it had a fitness center with new equipment, and an indoor pool and jacuzzi. The rooms were larger than an average hotel room-we just had the mini suite for our family of 4. It was in a good location, close to the falls. Everything was good, except no free breakfast, and the mattresses were the worst of any hotel I have ever been in, it was like sleeping on a box spring. They were in the process of changing them out, I hope they got better ones. I would stay there again."

"the customer services at this hotel was not good at all.Our room was dusty smelling and we had booked a king bed didn't get what we had ask forthe frig didn't work in the hotel. Told the front desk and got nothing. Ask for a clock there was non in the room, ask for coffee and nothing. ask for extra towels and nothinkg. Was not happy with our stay. The house keeper was the only friendly person we spoke with.... She was very nice and helpful."

The location of the hotel was great. We were in the middle of everything. There is so much to do and this hotel is located in walking distance to it all!

"walls are thin, can hear in next not on the river but close enough for the money"

"We had a large room at an excellent rate. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff goes above and beyond to be of help. We felt the $5/day parking fee was reasonable, given the location. The breakfast discount coupon makes a hot breakfast cost $6.95 downstairs. That's HALF what Denny's charges down the street, so NO complaints from us. This hotel is a great bargain in a very expensive area. Nice pool. NO complaints from us. We'll be back!"
