The Hotel itself is a nice place. Unfortunately either it was understaffed or the staff they had were totally incompetent. Continental breakfast every day was a joke (cold eggs, hot milk, not enough, etc). There were never towels at the pool (unless of course, I brought my own down, then they were plentifully supplied.) The Hotel offers a concierge service to supply guests with pre-printed boarding passes prior to departure. I requested this service & was assured it would be taken care of, however upon departure no one seemed to know what was going on. The Cadillac Escalade we rode in was filthy & no return service was available,Overall We had a good time because we were together but, I would have to say that the hotel experience was a big disappointment after all it was hyped-up to be.

Fantastic all around. Great rooms, great staff, great ammenties, great location. Staff at the front desk is the best. Yes its a couple of blocks from the ocean, but also walking distance to great shops and restaurants. The units have kitchens so you dont have to eat out for every meal, the rooms are spacious and you dont feel crowded at all. It's like having your on condo by the beach. I would stay again for sure and reccomend to friends and family.

I was on a business trip and needed to book a room quickly ( I had to stay one more night than I had planned and the hotel I had reservations in was completely full). I booked through online travel website. I had a small pet with me and I made sure up front the hotel allowed pets. Everyone assured me pets were allowed. After I checked in and paid for my room I went to my room unpacked and became comfortable. Within a short time the front desk called and said I would have to pay 100.00 additional for the pet to stay in th room. That was 50% of the total charge which would have made my one night stay over 400.00. When I combined the two mistakes, I could not see any reason to pay that kind of money for an average hotel room. The hotel said I had to either pay or get out of the room. I got out of the room. The hotel was unhelpful when I tried to get my money back. They did not want to take any responsibility for the mistake whatsoever. I will not ever stay there again nor will I recommend the hotel.

The hotel was awesome! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was immaculate and I loved the decor. We had a view of the intercoastal. My only negative comment about the hotel would be the pool. It is a little on the small side and where the pool is situated, it does not receive much sun.

Awesome room! Should have been on the beach. Parking too expensive. This is anawesome hotel. Unfortunately not on the beach, but otherwise brilliant. Rooms are some of the best I've ever had. Large with lots of space. Parking is a bit overpriced.

Stayed five nights in March 2009. Great views from the 10th (top) floor. The rooms are even better than the website suggests. Everything is modern and high quality. Concierge and front desk people were very helpful and pleasant-- Car valets were fast and friendly. Use the public parking lot across the street during the day, however, if you want to avoid some tipping. The hotel garage costs $25/day. Two HD tv's with HBO is a classy touch. Balcony had comfortable chairs for sunning or reading. Three complaints: First, no bathroom exhaust fan.. If this was a construction cost-saving decision, it was a big mistake. Second, our suite had a connecting doorway to the room next door. Although there were two doors between our room and theirs, we could understand what our neighbors were saying to each other--and they were not speaking loudly. It was as if the doors were made of balsa wood. Make sure to avoid a connecting suite. Third, forget the pool. On the north side of the building, it's almost always in shade. Outdoor double-sized chaise lounges on Intercoastal Waterway (west) side, however, are delightfully hedonistic. Bottom line: iL Lugano is still relatively new, expecially when compared to the 1970s era hotel competition on the beach. The 10-minute walk to the beach is a trade-off for living in a very nice suite. Would return.

Iloved the view from my room and the spacious deck. In the outside spa/hot tub I did not enjoy the water splattering out of the lions mouth. Was not relaxing, having water splashed in your face.

Thought the price was good- and a fairly new hotel, so we booked it for a night before cruise, even though it was not on the ocean- it's about a half mile walk. Got there around 2- room not ready- said go have lunch and come back. Still no room when we got back- no explanation- we finally got in the room at 5 pm. We requested a double- the room was a queen. Called the desk- they said it was the only room available. Looked at the coverlet at the bottom part of the bed- it was stained- looked like blood- a huge area of the coverlet. Called the desk again- housekeeping came and agreed it did look like blood. No shuttle service was available the day we were there- very busy they said, although the website makes a big deal about having this service available. Also, checked out the pool- it is in the shade- sandwiched between 2 buildings- shade the entire day. There was not enough outside seating for customers.I am not happy with this hotel and would not suggest it to anyone. No apologizes from anyone- other customers had similar complaints to ours- they told one person there was no management available on weekends to hear her complaint. The "free" breakfast was mediocre and we were not waited on because we were not paying customers- when we did ask the server for coffee she rolled her eyes at us and made another person get it- and it took 10 minutes.I have never ever written a review for a hotel- but felt strongly that people should know there are many other hotels available in Ft. Lauderdale with MUCH better service. I will not go there again, and am about to email their manager right now.

What a great place - boutique hotel. Very trendy. Staff are friendly, from Valet, to front desk to restaurant and lobby bar! Restaurant was packed and very active when we checked in at 9:45pm, so they suggested we go to the lobby bar and they served us there where it was quiet. Made us something not on the menu. Great food! Room was top drawer, fully equipped for short executive type stays. We make several short trips a year to Ft Lauderdale and this will be our new home away from home.

The bed was nice, the view was great and the kitchen was a nice touch. The hotel did not provide room service, the hot tub was cold, was not located on the beach and they charged $25 for valet service. The hotel was mostly clean except some small details, such as the balconies and the pool. The staff was friendly and courteous to our needs. Unfortunately they do not do room service the hours listed and not a large selection. This hotel was about four blocks from the beach. It was nicely located on the inter coastal waterway.

I loved this newer hotel perched in the Ft. Lauderdale intercoastal with back rooms able to watch the yachts glide by from the balcony. Hotel had all the best amenities: comfortable beds, spacious rooms, fitnesss center, pool, sunbathing chairs looking on the water, and a complimentary buffet breakfast of homemade pastries and fresh fruit. Highly recommended!

This hotel was pretty pricey but really beautiful. We got the premier room and it was huge. Beautiful hotel, great staff. They called up to the room to make sure everything was ok after we checked in and told us about a few things the hotel offer such as a free boat ride and tour for customers. great views of intercoastal and the ocean, large balconies in some rooms. This hotel was 100% non smoking which is fine bc the rooms don't stink but that policy included the balcony for which there is a $300 fine! That was the only drawback i guess, that you can't even smoke OUTSIDE your room.

This hotel has it all. Great rooms, great views and very helpful staff. If you want to stay in a very nice hotel with all the amenities you would ever need, this is the place. Extremely clean, very tasteful and located in an area of Fort Lauderdale where you can be out and about and be comfortable.

Hotel was fantastic. The only problem was the beach was 2 blocks away and that hotel charges for beach chairs. It was not nearly as nice as the Il Lugano.

The suite was enormous, furnished like a boutique hotel; the staff is all very helpful, and the restaurant was fantastic. I would definitely stay there again.

We only had 1 night after a 2 week cruise. We were exceptionally pleased with the hotel. The only time we were not pleased when we used hotel transportation to a local restaurant and when we called for a ride back to the hotel we were told that we would have to call a taxi.
