Concierge was great, very helpful to tourists. Rooms were smaller and typically European in nature. Very clean and staff was very nice.

Noise from other hotel guests holding a party on the same floor kept me awake for a long time until I complained to Hotel Reception and asked for Security to intervene. This hotel is close to the Race Course and makes a point of advertising the fact, so I guess this is the type of clientele this hotel attracts.

Great value for the room. Food and bar cost is a little excessive and food average.

Our greeting on arrival was non existent. No hello, no welcome, no smile - we went to our allocated rooms asking ourselves, "what was her problem"! One order of "bar food" was very poor indeed. It was described as Asian snacks with dipping sauce. They were frozen, poor quality, packet dim sims and samosas -left largely uneaten by my travel companion. Best to keep the food fresh and simple.

The hotel rooms are certainly adequate, though the decor is a bit dated. Definitley couldn't fault the service!

Staff were very helpful, nice and clean place and prices for drinks and meals reasonable. Had a great stay there. Would certainly recommend and will be staying there again in the future.

Ibis, Ellerslie always seems to have excellent rates (value for money). Location is quite good situated approx. halfway between downtown Auckland and the airport. Rooms are small and somewhat basic but o.k. for short stays. Meals in the restaurant are generally of a very high standard.

Hotel is rated 3-4 star however the room was small, dirty, run-down with outlandish colours - more like 1.5 star. Suitable for backpackers.

I thought the food and beverage to be expensive - $28.50 for breakfast.

The hotel had not received our booking when we arrived at 6 pm. The staff member took our booking anyway although they were full.100 rooms had been set aside for Auckland airport as the airport was closed. However at 6pm when we arrived they had not been taken up hence we got a room. The location is excellent, and the staff were very friendly, even though they were short staffed. The All Blacks/South Africian rugby game was on in the bar area and the bar person went and got extra chairs for the extra people who came to watch the rugby on the big screen. We will recommend this hotel to others.

good size room for a single person. Bathroom a little small but hey, there was running water and heated! :-) Train station is nearby which is good if you are not driving. only takes 15 - 20 minutes to get to the city centre by train. Onsite restaurant and bar - excellent. Good service, a little pricey. I'm on a budget, good thing some shops nearby. Unfortunately no free internet access. Staff were competent and easy to talk to.
