I read several reviews of the hotel prior to my stay. This is not a real fancy hotel, but if you think of hotel and beach and hawaii, this about fits my picture of what an Hyatt would look like in that setting. I loved the open atmosphere of the three levels of shops/pool/bar/front desk with a view/sound of waterfalls and beach. The location is busy, but its nice to take a walk on the beach or down in the "uptown" shops. I can say that most of the reviews on here "scared" me about the hotel, and i typically can be found only staying in nicer hotels, like i said, its not a ritz carlton, but it is a real nice hotel for the price and location.

Fantastic view and location with friendly staff. I would highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers. Rooms are spacious and most provide a beautiful view of Waikiki. Very convenient to beach, shops and dining.

I had actually stayed at the Hyatt about ten years ago. I had forgotten how beautiful it is. The lobby, the shops, the location, the employees, are all wonderful. I upgraded to a room overlooking the beach. We stayed on the 29th floor and it was spectacular! The room was nicely furnished, good size. Three of us were in the room and were not cramped. The bathrooom is the most outdated thing in the room, but that didn't bother us.

We arrived expecting to get a boring city-side view but the host greeted us with an Aloha and an upgrade to a beach front view for no extra charge as soon as he noticed we had kids. We shopped the hotel's mall, used the jacuzzi, restaurants, pool, fitness center, and many other amenities. This was a great stay for a very low price in he heart of the entertainment capital of Honolulu: Waikiki.

Fantastic location and great staff! The pool was entirely too small for the size of the hotel. This was a great choice for us for a short stay in Waikiki. Its close proximity to all the sights allowed us to use our time wisely. Additionally, it was a welcome refuge after all the hustle and bustle of the strip. A great value and great service!

Beware of the "hotel attempted scam": I made my booking for four (4) adults, my wife and my (2) daughters, their ages 19 and 21. Thus the booking was for four (4) adults. HOWEVER, as we checked into the Hyatt Regency, they attempted to charge me $* plus tax for EACH night of my seven (7) night stay. They called it "extra persons charge". How strange and odd since my booking and itinerary stated four (4) adults. Long story short, I refused to give into their demand and called for a manager at which time they had attempted to look like the good guys by saying: "ok, we'll waive it this time", as if they were doing me a favor when in fact I was protecting my wallet and defending my right. JUST BE CAREFUL!! Other than that, the hotel was nice and most every one was helpful. However, the ocean view room was small and didn't have any dressers to put our clothes in so we had to dig into our suitcases daily.

All staff were extremely attentive. You won't find a more comfortable bed anywhere! The Terrance Grill has a great buffet style breakfast and they have reasonably priced lunches. The hotel provided beach and pool towels and chair covers. It was very kid friendly offering movie night each evening at the pool. The live singing was great. The only complaints were lack of free internet service and some of the other eateries were extremely overpriced. I'm already thinking of a way to get back to this spot. Save yourself the hassle and expense of renting a car. The Bus and the boat only cost 2 to ride and goes everywhere. I recommend buying the powerpass and taking the diffrent trollies around so you can see where everything is and then ask what bus to take to get back. The Blueline trolly took us out to Diamond Head. They will do curtesy drops at the certain Malls and spots and will explain historic sites and activities you can get off and do. It runs every 60 minutes so they will return and pick you up.

This hotel was superb with a great location and design. I got a 17th floor garden view which overlooked the courtyard and pool area on the 3rd floor level. There was also a good ocean view from my balcony. For those who like shopping, it was everywhere including at this hotel which had several upscale stores. Staff were very courteous and helpful and the rooms were clean and confortable. What I liked most about the hotel was the easy access, quick service, attractive design and friendly staff. And the beach was just across the street!

Good view of the beach. Rooms and decor was dated. The hotel staff was very friendly and the location is fantastic across from the beach. The room and hotel decor is dated and the layout of the overall hotel is a bit of a mess, and felt like a rabbit warren at times.

The location was great. Walk across to the beach. Great restaurants nearby. Hotel staff were friendly. Valet parking was expensive but very convenient. Rooms sapcious but the bathroom were cramped. Hotel itself looks a little dated. Decor needs updating. We had booked the sunshine sale and thought it included free breakfast but did not!!

We were completely happy with this hotel. The day that we checked out our flight was not until 10 pm. The hotel held my bags while we took another day to soak up Waikiki. When we were done for the day, the hotel gave us a hospitality room to shower and rest before my flight at no charge. The staff was excellent and we did not handle any of our luggage, the bell staff took care of unload, delivery to room and picked up from room. They were just great.

The Hyatt exceeded my expectations! Great location, amazing service and ultra clean! There really is nothing not to like about this. Customer service is amazing here especially pool side! Complimentary freeze pops and cool towels are given to guest hourly plus free 10 minute massages! Plus there is a mall, expedite excursions and a car rental located within the resort itself. You will feel blessed if your bid is accepted here.

I wanted to see my daughter stationed at Schofeild Barracks so I searched, looked, read every reveiw, went on multiple sites and after a hard decision process I settled on Wyatt Regency. I am so very glad I did, from the moment you walk onto the premises you can sense the excellence in service and the warmth of the staff and management. The smiling, sincere service, the way everyone remembers your name, the luxurious fit and finish, the attenion to detail, the ambiance of Honolulu makes the visit one you won't want to end. They treated us like royalty and my daughter felt like I arranged all that just for her. please don't think cheap when traveling here, don't try and get a good deal, you are coming to Haiwaii, make the most of this vacation so that the fond memories last a lifetime. They make you feel wonderful each and everyday. Hints about food: get the package that includes the breakfast buffet every morning, they seat at a table and your choices range from pancakes, waffles, danishes, toast, omelets made to order, sausages, bacon, ham.crepes, fresh fruits, hot and cold cereals, fresh baked breads, cheeses, salads, 4 kinds of juices,4 kinds of milk, coffee, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, florentine, warmed real maple syrup, real butter. Wanna go back for seconds? it's included along with tax and gratutiy. You fill up here and it'll last all the way till dinner, walk two blocks in any direction ( except west, you'll be in the surf) and you can find lots of options. The onsite Expedia and concierce make booking trips easy. We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back there again and I'm really grateful that I had the insight to book there, it made all the difference in the world!

I travel for business about 2 weeks a month to mostly tropical locations including Hawaii on many occasions. I have only found a bug in a hotel room once in a foriegn country. My husband and I were in our room all of ten minutes and found two cockroaches. We asked to be moved to another room on a higher floor and again there was a bug on our new room. The hotel is filthy, the hallway rugs are stained and were not vacuumed. Our mini fridge in each room was full of crumbs. I have never been inclined to write a review, I stay in hotels, motels, boutique hotels worldwide and am overall easily satisfied, this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Cockroaches are not acceptable. This is a big tourist hotel that just offers the most basic waikiki experience..

The hotel is very old. My friends & I all got bed bite all over the body. My friend found couple of fleas in side the room. The pool is unbelievable small & there is a huge difference from the picture. The hotel is not on the beach side. I don't think I will come back to this hotel.

This was my first trip to the island, but have stayed in Hyatts before. My expectations were met with the usual high standards of the Hyatt Hotels. We had breathtaking views of the ocean, Waikiki beach and the "First Lady Of Waikiki" Moana Surfrider Hotel across the street. The open air atrium lobby was spectacular with its lush tropical flowers, palm trees and multiple waterfalls. Guest check-in was quick and courteous. The concierge was very helpful in planning activities for Germaine's Luau or driving diections to wherever we required. Each morning at the Terrace Grille, we were greeted by a delectable breakfast buffet consisting of various breakfast foods including different filled blintzes, daily variations of Eggs Benedict and made to order eggs, omlettes and waffles. The hotel's location is ideal for shopping at the International Marketplace a few steps away or the varied restaurants in and around the Hyatt. There are also many diverse shopping boutiques within the lower levels of the hotel. In my experience, the staff geniunely seemed to care about our every needs, comfort and rendered courteous, friendly service.

This was our 3rd trip staying at the Hyatt and again we stayed 10 nights in our spacious room. Could have been longer. We love it and what a view over-looking the beach, street and pool area. Lots of action from our laini. A wonderful breakfast was included with our room and it was like leaving family when we once again said good bye to the staff especially in the Terrace Grill (where breakfast is served). You are all so wonderful. Very conveniently, a doctor is located in one of the towers (Diamond Head) which is great should a problem arise. Although we feel so at home in this hotel, it is getting tired and they are updating the rooms with new carpeting, etc. They were laundering the curtains when we were there. So many places to shop and lots of ABC Stores thru-out the hotel not to mention the wonderful restaurants with top quality food. The check-in girl was also excellent and very accommodating. Never used the pool area but by 10 AM most of the chairs were taken. Prefer crossing the street to the beach for the nice breeze. We'll be back.
