The Hyatt was a great place for our trip. We wanted a location in downtown Tampa as we didn't have a car and needed somewhere close to other amenities. It's just a 10 min walk to the main bus terminal, even closer to the local shops like CVS and a choice of local restaurants. Although it's important to note that the very close restaurants sometimes close early as the downtown can be extreamly quiet in the evening. The downtown trolley stops right outside and will take you a short distance to Channelside where there are an array of restaurants, bars, and a multiplex movie theater. The Hyatt staff were courteous, helpful and friendly although it was a little disappointing to discover that the maid had cleaned our room a little too efficiently, throwing away receipts, half drunk sodas, and snacks that were left on a bedside table. A helpful service offered at the Hyatt was the ability to store your luggage after checkout as we had an evening flight and didn't want to be tide to luggage for the day. A good experience and we would defiantly return.

Staff was pleasant and helpful - great location. Hotel's advertised parking information misleading. This is a well-placed hotel with nice amenities and a helpful and knowledgeable professional - quality staff. My room was clean and comfortable. The pool was also clean and the pool area was clean. I do feel that the advertised parking is a bit misleading. There is a sign posted at the turn-in/valet area that says parking with in/out privileges is $18/day, but that parking without the privileges is $10/day. What it should say is that valet parking is $18/day, and self-parking at the nearby public garage is $9.50/day. I was careful not to pull my car out once I'd given it to the valet for parking overnight but I got charged the $18 price. When I asked at the desk, they admitted that the sign was inaccurate and that they had spoken with the valet service company about it but had gotten no change. Not a huge deal, for sure, but it is the only thing that was wrong with this hotel!

This hotel is very convenient for a stay in downtown Tampa. Great location for going to the Forum and a great price. The rooms were comfortable, very clean and nicely appointed. The faucets in the bathroom are reversed. The concierge is not that well informed. We were looking for Andreychuk's Grille and the concierge advised us that it did not exist. Note to concierge: it's on Channelside Drive across from the Forum. Other than those two very insignificant items, I would definitely stay here again.

The Hotel was very clean. First Rate. Room was spacious. Would stay again. The only down side about the hotel was they did not allow you to park your own car. Valet service only or you had to pay and park in city garage.Valet service was very expensive, $18.00 per night and took way too long to get your car after you called down ahead of time.

Was very convenient to our destination and airport. Was completely geared toward business travelers. The hotel itself was quite nice and had very good accommodations. It would not be what I call family friendly, but the staff was very kind. Definitely a great place to stay if you are a business traveler.

Stayed in this hotel last year with my wife for the USMC Birthday Ball. Upon arrival, the room was dirty with shavings still in the tub from the previous occupant. We were pressed for time to dress up for the ceremony, so we let it slide. This year, the non-smoking room was clean, but smelled bad. We are pretty low maintanance and weren't going to spend much time in the room. So again, we opted not to hassle with switching rooms and proceeded to our ceremony. By the way, the GM never returned my call despite a detailed message of my concern and repeating my phone number twice. The Hyatt did a good job with the ceremony both years, but I would recommend another hotel such as the Marriott Tampa Waterside. I was severely dissappointed in the lack of professionalism displayed by the management and staff of this hotel (aside from the lady who checked me in, who was very pleasant). Hope this helps...

my wife and i just stayed there weekend of 8/22/08 so this is very current. hotel was unimpressive. only one restaraunt which was very poor. cold food (hot entree) forgetful service, wrong bill and what ever happened to those lemons we asked for? the room had a problem where half of the water flow came out of the tub faucet and the other half came out of the shower faucet and we had two different kinds of bugs in the bed. it's not the hotel's fault that downtown tampa is dead, i mean no one but some street people. i think the city planners forgot to build for people and not just large banks. it could be a nice city. oh, try staying along the river walk...much nicer.

We attended the St Pete Grand Prix. We arrived very early and notified the hotel that we were there, our car was in the garage, and that we would check in after the race festivities. They held the exact room we requested (last one) and everything went as planned. They have a Great general restaurant where we (four of us) had a wonderful, but pricy breakfast. Their main doorman is quite a character and reflects very well on the hotel. I think his name was Alberto! Overall a four star experience at the advertised price. Cliff Feightner

The exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. The cost of parking per night.

We enjoyed everything but the waiting time for elevators. Staying on the 8th floor it was better to walk down the stairs and wait for the elevators on the way back up. Sometimes the wait was up to 7 minutes and they stopped on every floor. Other than that, it is a first class property in the heart of the beautiful downtown area. Nice restaurant and clean throughout, but they really need to pay attention to the elevators and the time it takes to access them.

The Hyatt Regency in Tampa was very nice, the location in downtown Tampa was what I was looking for. I did not realize that there were not a lot of restaurants around the area. Their restaurant downstairs was very good. The room was very large with a desk area and a reading area. Bathroom was very nice, very sleek and modern.

The concierge and front desk were very helpful both in giving directions and assisting me with obtaining a rental car. The room was immaculate and was kept spotless. The location is in the heart of downtown Tampa which is good for business but the area is a little dead at night.

The courteous and professional staff exceeded all expectations. I found absolutelynothing that I didn't like about this hotel. From the minute I checked in, until checkout, I was continually impressed with the staff and their consistent efforts to make sure that everything within their scope of duties, was carried out to the best of their ability. When calling down to the desk to ask the whereabouts of the ice machine, the desk person asked ifhe could come up to my 16th floor room, take the ice container, fill it with ice, and return it to my room. Wow. I have never been treated with such royalty. Of course, I thanked him and retrieved my own ice, but the offer was there. Thank you.
