The location is excellent, the rate is attractive but . . . then the surprise The valet parking is overpriced and not practical at all. The internet is very expensive. The breakfast is high priced (Same price and much better quality at the Ralph Lauren restaurant !!!)

This hotel is near everything. I walked to Magnificent Mile, the beaches, Navy Pier and the Taste of Chicago in Grant Park. The staff can take a long time for requests as I asked for a few things such as towels and blankets and they were not brought to my room until the next day. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and I'll stay here again next time I'm in Chicago.

Nice Hotel. Fairly clean, the floor in the bathroom needed mopped and the toilet was not as clean as it should have been. Friendly hotel staff.

Great Hotel, Great Location! We walked to many attractions. There are day passes for public transportation for sale at the hotel but they sell out quickly. The Art museum is free on thursday evenings. Friendly staff, helpful. Maids forgot to clean the room the last night but otherwise service was good. The AC in the room did not work but weather was good. Overall, a nice vacation.

The hotel is very nice and in a GREAT location. The staff--especially the concierge service--was very friendly. The rooms were clean and it felt very safe. The only drawback is that there were two of us in a standard room. The standard room is really set up for one person with limited towels, coffee and bathroom space. Overall, the standard room is just small. If you have two people, I think it would be best to get the next larger size room.

They were over booked and asked me to go else where for one night. when I said no they found me a room. A room without bathroom lighting. I asked them to fix it. they didn't. Bellman that greeted me at the cab. tossed my bag I had to excuse myself next to another gentleman to pick it up.

We went with our 3 kids (all under ten) for a medical school graduation and wanted a hotel that was centrally located. We had a great time here. The Hyatt was clean and the staff was friendly and VERY professional. Room Service was actually pretty good but on the pricey side when you add all the automatic charges (gratuity + delivery fee). The hotel is in great physical condition and the rooms were nicely appointed. There was an iHome clock-radio dock for my ipod. They gave us 2 full sized beds which were obviously small. The do a big convention business but the flow of people is easy to deal with. Shopping on Michigan Avenue is close by. Parking is 48 per night with unlimited in-out privileges. They even offer an alternative at 18 per night down the street but with no in and out. The Coffee stand (J.'s) was extremely accessible and had a super selection plus it was open 24/7; however it is pricey for items other than plain coffee but you do pay for convenience. A great place to stay for business travel. A very good place to stay with kids solely for its location and ease of movement (kid particular activities are not a part of this review) and SUPERIORLY located - a great value for the acomodations only.

The Hyatt is located in a terrific spot. You can get to the Magnificent Mile, river, boat tours, and much more by just walking for a few minutes. The view was breath taking. If you don't feel like leaving the hotel there is plenty to do there. The dining and bars located inside were amazing.

While the hotel itself is not bad, the rooms were a huge disappointment. We were celebarating valentine's 2009 at Hyatt and had requested for a quiet and private room. It was awful! We could hear our neighbors throughout and next morning were woken up by kids screaming in the adjoining room. To add to the 'wonderul' exprience, they even had adjoining doors, which was constantly prodded by the kids. Upon complaining, we were asked to wait 5 hours, after which our rooms were changed. Annoying, to say the least as we only had a weekend in Chicago. Same story here so I went to walgreens and got myself ear plugs. A total no no if you have any romantic plans. My entire weekend in Chicago was ruined because of not being able to sleep at night with the noise. Do not recommend unless you operate well without sleep. Instead go to a two star where you'll get similar ammenities and pay half.

The hotel is not bad, but for the same price other places offer more comfort. The service is good with the exception of one receptionist. I came a couple of hours earlier and asked if I could check in. I was told by her that the hotel is full and I had to wait for 3 hours. I kind of did not feel she was honest and decided to ask another receptionist. In 5 minutes I was in my room. Similar thing happened at the end of my stay. I tried to contact the parking for my car, which was difficult; busy signal. Then I decided to ask a receptionist for help. I happen to meet the "first" one again. She told me that they were very busy and I had to go to the underground parking and take my car myself. I went downstairs but there was no one there. So I returned and asked another receptionist, who took care of it immediately and my car was at the front door in 15 minutes. I realize am too picky with this one person and know she does not represent the hotel, but I wish it did not happen. Overall good service.

The hotel is nice, it is not luxurious. But it is perfect if you want to be in a modern, nice, clean hotel that is at the very beginning of Chicago's Magnificent Mile.

Excellent view and location. Expensive parking, no fridge, poor TV channel selections, poor quality TV reception. TV reception. Inconvenience from parking to elevators. Had to carry luggage up two sets of stairs. The maid did not stock coffee the last morning. The desk help did not know about day passes on business. We called the hotel and asked about parking, we were told that it was $20 daily next door if we did not move the car, it cost $35.

We have stayed twice at this hotel with our kids. One trip was several nights and one was one night. Both times we did not have a choice where to stay. In the evening and at night the bar area is pretty loud on weekends...really a place for adults. Its also sometimes quite smoky. All fine for the adult crowd but sometimes you want to get out of your room with the kids. The rooms were ok, nothing to write home about. Beds were rock hard and the rooms got warm at night with no working climate control (it was there, just didnt do anything). I guess what really made me not like this hotel was that the food is overpriced and awful. Room service is ok, but really should be better for the price. Mama Pronto's was inedible. We ordered several menu items. All huge portions (like silly huge) were bland, poorly prepared food. The pasta was mush. Other people walked out while we were there too. Bottom line is there are alot of much nicer hotels for the price in the same area. Hyatt needs to get its act together on this one.
