My main complaint was everything in the Hotel was expensive. $20.00 for breakfast per person is pretty steep for a family of four. $17.00 for a 12 inch cheese pizza with some outragous delivery charge would end up costing $25.00. I know we had other options like going to other places to eat and believe me we did. We found a carry out across from the Hotel and they even had a deli and their prices were very resonable. We stocked up on soda and snacks and ate breakfast there twice for about $20.00 for a family of four on a budget. The pool area needs to be policed better by Hotel personel. Every evening kids would get out large exercise balls out of weight room and use them as beach balls. One lady got hit with one in the head and it caused her to hit her head on edge of pool. I took it upon myself to remove the balls as I seen them in the pool. The pool got very busy almost to many people in at one time.

Grand Hyatt overbooked and we were forced to stay at this very tired hotel. Checked in at a bit past midnight and we were supposed to have a room with 2 double beds, however we ended up in a very small room with a king size bed and single rollaway. When you are traveling with 2 adults and 2 young teenagers, this type of accomodation doesn't work out very well. At approx 1:15am, the single rollaway arrived in our room after 2 calls to the front desk. However, there was no blanket for the rollaway. We called the front desk again to see if we could get a blanket for our son. After another 30 minutes past, my wife went down to the lobby to see if she could get the blanket. She was told the hotel was out of blankets but that they were still looking around the hotel. At 2am, we heard a knock on the door and we were handed a filthy blanket that looked like it was stolen from a homeless person complete with a large burn hole. Extremely disappointed with Hyatt Regency and would avoid if at all possible.

I am an avid traveler and decided to go to DC with my boyfriend last minute! We booked this hotel and headed on our way. When we got there late - at 3 am!- the staff was incredibly friendly. When we had to get something from our car - which was in the parking garage- they brought us right down to the garage. The location is also perfect - right near the Capital and Union Station. The only slight gripe is that we needed to pay for parking. Maybe it was an off weekend - D.C. was not very packed for a beautiful summer weekend - but there was plenty of street parking. Since we arrived at 3 a.m. we did not even look for street parking. We used the hotel parking garage. The sign said $41 a night (We were there from 3 am on and one other night) but were only charged about $35 for the entire weekend. The garage staff was careful, quick and friendly. If you do not want to pay for parking you can probably find street parking. Overall, I felt safer knowing my car was in the hotel garage.

Location. Parking expense. Good location, terrible, outrageously expensive parking.

Hotel has NO view of Capitol, even though the photo makes you think it does. New building is going up, blocking the view. Hotel is right across street from fire department and liquor store. Union Station is close 2 block walk away, but scary walking it at night. Better to stay at other hotel with metro in basement. Would have been much easier to get around. Food here was good - especially with the half price coupon. We used it several times. Hotel is undergoing remodeling. Had to move rooms midway our stay. Bed was super uncomfortable. Overall, a disappointment.

The bathroom didn't have much space for my personal belongings and I would have liked to had a safe in the room.

Good location, friendly staff, nice workout facility. Pricey parking, loud teenagers on a group trip on our floor. Close to capitol hill, the mall, subway, museums. Friendly staff. Nice workout facilities. Recommended.

Hotel staff were terrific, no request was a problem. All very courteous and willing to help. We ordered some extra items added to the room for our arrival- they were not in the room when we arrived, as we got there early. I quick phone call to the concierge/front desk and the items arrived within 15 minutes. Room was clean, modern, comfortable and very relaxing. Would definitely stay there on our return trip to DC. The hotel location was very convenient to the Captiol, White House, Washington Monument, Union Square, etc. The food was fabulous as well. Definitely pay for the upgrade to join the Regency Club. Worth every penny to be pampered with a quiet place to get morning breakfast and afternoon appetizers, drinks and dessert. But don't miss the hotel restaurant, either!

Great place to stay for sightseeing in Wash, DC. Located steps to US Capitol/National Mall. Walking distance to Chinatown/shops. Short cab ride to Georgetown. Beautiful hotel with great food, although rather pricey. Excellent plus to take advantage of free breakfast passes. This saved the day regarding food expenses. Would have liked parking facilities ($41 per night valet parking only - I paid $32 for 4 days at a local indoor lot.) Overall, I would recommend & definitely stay here again.

Room was clean, very trendy looking room/lobby. Thin walls, staff not very friendly, parking is very expensive, pay internet. We stayed here on the first 2 nights of our week in D.C. location is pretty good, just a few blocks from the capital building, but not as close to to shops and restaurants. First night we had to change rooms because they put us in a joined room, and the man in the next room was on the phone; sounded like he was in the room with us. We were able to hear every word he said as if he was talking to us ( not his fault just thin doors and walls). They did move us with little fuss and the next room was much better. This hotel, like many in D.C., have a monopoly on parking spaces. The parking is $40+tax+tip a day, with no options to self park.

My husband and I were wanting a mini-getaway right after the holidays. The Hyatt Regency was in a prime location. Right when you step out of the hotel's front door, you can see the Capital building. What a beautiful scene at night time. The Mall is in walking distance from the hotel. When we booked we received a coupon for 50% off food in the Hyatt's resturant. We had the breakfast buffet. It was very good food but pricey, thankfully we had the coupon. The only negative is that the hotel is located one block away from a homeless shelter. WIth that stated, I completly felt safe but there was many loiters around the facility day and night. All in all, great getaway!

We enjoyed seeing D.C. and all it's glory. But did not like the fact that the hotel does not have parking. That put a big dent in our pockets in having to find a garage to park in, and parking was not cheap either.

The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had limited space to put out toiletries. Pretty hotel, nice people. Silly that you don't get free internet for the nightly rate being paid. Odd to go down escalator as soon as you walk in. Restaurant food was fine, but overpriced. Would have liked larger selection of simpler and less expensive options.

Next time we will check the alarm clock before going to bed. It was terrible waking up at 5! No hair drier. Otherwise the beds are good. ==

The hotel is nice. But bring a large check book to eat at the resturant or park in the area. The inhouse mini-store also charges different prices everytime you by something. The service desk stated that alot of the itmes listed on the web site are not available and have never been. Call first on what is available. The rooms are comfortable but most of the rooms only have a view of another wall of the hotel.

Location andself-check in. Dark/dingy hallways. Convenient, efficient and comfortable.
