Like stepping back in time. The Arcade is a treasure in its own right. However, the hotel itself is modern in every way and its staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating in every way. Breakfast in the 1890 Restaurant was very nice, but well over-priced. My girlfriend went to the Marengo spa and fell in love with it. Her visit ran long and the Hyatt extended our checkout with zero hassle.

This hotel is probably in the most convenient location to all things considered downtown Cleveland. After walking around the downtown area, I realized the Hyatt was the best place to stay for location, convenience, traffic, noise, and entertainment.

My fiance and I stayed here for an over night trip. The hotel and room was beautiful, no complaints there. One of the lamps was unplugged so we moved the chair over to plug it in. Under the chair was a used tampon! We were horrified and disgusted! After we called the front desk to complain, they were very quick to respond. They sent someone up to get rid of it, and the manager called back quickly to apologize, but only to offer us a bottle of wine! The room was not discounted any and they seemed to forget about the incident immediately.

Traveled to Cleveland specifically to eat at Lola and the Hyatt was only steps away! We booked our room at a special summer weekend rate and we recieved a daily food credit (used for breakfast) so this was an unbelievable deal! The desk staff was friendly and professional and the valet parking was terrific. Due to some horribly inclimate weather, we were stuck in the hotel for an evening but went to one of the restaurants in the building and had a very nice dinner. As a bonus, we had a room on the 8th floor with a beautiful view of the lake. All in all, we were exremely pleased.

We did not actually stay at this hotel. We were notified one week earlier that they had overbooked us and we had to move to Crowne Plaza Downtown Cleveland. We had paid in February, and I'm still not sure why we were moved.

Staff was very friendly. Negotiating arrival was difficult during rush hour. This hotel is located above an arcade with 4 floors located above the arcade, under a glass roof and the other 4 floors located above the glass roof. The first four floors were noisy with music and shopping sounds.

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt on our trip to the Cleveland museum of art for out 9th anniversary. I reserved a room with a king sized bed online a week before our stay and received an email that the booking was confirmed. Upon arrival we were told there were no king sized beds available, only rooms with two full sized beds. When I asked if the room would be discounted because of the change the woman at the desk stated, "No, you already got a discount." She was evidently referring to the lower price I was able to find online. I was then told to check back to see if a king became available due to a cancellation. When I checked back, the new woman at the front desk told me that there was no request for a king sized bed in my reservation, I showed her the email confirmation which clearly stated the request for a king and she told me that because I did not call and confirm my confirmation the room was not reserved. The room we were given was directly across from the soda and ice machines which saw a fair amount of business through the night. On the plus side, the room was very clean and the building is beautiful. The deserts we ordered from room service were wonderful. The most interesting observation is that all of the male employees have been courteous, knowledgable and friendly, where as all of the female employees have been curt, rude and unhelpful.

Staff was very accomodating. Valet parking was very quick and efficient. Room was very clean and comfortable. Location was excellent for Browns' stadium and numerous restaurants to meet any tastes.

The purpose of the visit was to attend the Women of Faith conference at the Q Arena. They (WOF) had already wowwed us with an unexpected seating upgrade. Then, when we got to the Hyatt, the receptionist apologetically informed us that we would be getting upgraded to a King-sized room, with a voucher for breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We couldn't believe it, and talked about pinching ourselves every time we entered the arcade. It was unbelievably cool!

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt in the Arcade in Cleveland, Ohio. Our stay was great. The staff was helpful (I forgot my socks). The quickly phoned Tower City to check their hours. I purchased new socks. The room was clean, and had a comfortable bed. We had a nice view of the E.4th St. restaurants and clubs.

The hotel is beautiful. Our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The employees were mostly pretty friendly, though It did seem a little understaffed. The woman who was tending bar at the lounge was inattentive to us and one other couple in particular, to the point of rudeness. (No, we were not loud, drunk, or obnoxious. We sat quietly for several minutes waiting for the same degree of attention she was giving the other patrons.) We didn't know what her problem was, but she acted the same way both nights we were there. When we mentioned it to the clerk at check-out, she comped our drinks and said she would look into it. Some common amenities, like morning newspapers or free morning coffee, were not offered, but for the price it was no great hardship to do without them. We would definitely stay there again. The hotel is a short walk from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is very impressive. There is a Science Center next to the R&R Hall with a lot of interactive activities geared toward children. Cleveland in general seems to shut down early. There's a shopping center called The Tower about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, with a multiplex theater that shows current films in the afternoons and evenings. There is also a nearby (across the street) small bar/club district that stays open late. The House of Blues in particular was nice with great service and food. The downtown area is clean and safe.

Excellent place to stay. Spacious suites. Clean, and comfortable. Wonderful service. In walking distance of lots of restaurants, shopping and sight-seeing.

The staff were amazingly helpful. We had a $30 breakfast credit, but since we were leaving before breakfast was served, they kindly converted it to a $40 dinner credit at 1890 Restaurant. It was an amazingly beautiful hotel, and a very unique experience. Highly recommended, as it is a great, great value for its price.

The staff was very helpful. Our room was initially next to a service elevator. Wonderful place to stay; unless they are having a wedding reception in the arcade - very loud throughout the hotel. The staff was very helpful in solving any problem.

Remembered visiting this building from pre-hotel days and was excited to see such a creative reuse saving a unique structure. Specifically booked it expecting something special. Wish I could get more excited, but I'd call it just average. I would not say don't stay there, but all things being even I might try a different hotel. For such an empty hotel night I would think Diamond-tier Hyatt status might have gotten me a larger and higher room. Staff OK to quite good except the person who checked us in. Breakfast just average. Stuffed furniture in our room is worn and stained. Atrium room have glass walls to the walkway with curtains, and I think could be noisy with a party going on.

Shocked that Hyatt room was horrible! Room was prepaid, no cancel avail. horrible mildew, old and hard mattress, hair all over and in bedding. Burns in bedding. No duvet cover, flast sheets used. valet lost car 3x! staff very professiona and apologetic.seems as if managers were on vacation! worse than 1 star in room, superior common areas. nice potential, terrible stay. good luck and never pay more than 70.00

The hotel itself was beautiful and the rooms were clean and quite spacious. What I didn't like was the lack there of service. My fiance and I went out for the day and were quite careful to check the room before we left. Since we both travel for a living, we are always very careful when we leave the room. When we can back almost 10 hours later, the bellmen who helped us with our packages, didn't even need to wait for us to use our key to open the door, as it was quite easy to push the door right open. Apparently, when the maid was in our room, she must have not closed the door carefully because the curtain was lodged in the door, making it very easy for someone to push the door open and take what they wanted. Thank god nothing was missing but the staff didn't too much to assist us other than having security come up to inspect the room. Technically, we should have gotten a free night but that did not happen. Then, the never took our laundry, I had to leave it at the desk with the night manager and the next day, after calling for my laundry later in the evening, I didn't even get back all the pieces I sent out. Only after calling, were they able to track down my missing laundry pieces. Overall I was pleased with the room and the hotel but they really need to bump up their service when things go awry.

My husband and I spent one night here on our way home to Michigan. The inside of the hotel was breathtaking. Our room was extra large with very tall ceilings. The bed was extreamly comfortable. Everything was nice except the view! I opened our curtains to find our view of three ugly walls of buildings surrounding the massive air conditioner for the entire building! There was not a drop of sunshine to reach our window in the morning. The breakfast at the 1890 Restaurant was awesome! But it was also very pricey. $3 for a cup of coffee and $12-$14 per breakfast.

We've stayed here several times and usually been satisfied. This time the hotel was full, the king bed we thought we reserved not available, and a party in the arcade that ran late. Nice place for a party but not so nice for the uninvited guests. Management might want to rethink that, and deliver what they promise.
