We were disappointed when we first checked in as it didn't seem anyone was staying in the hotel (no activity) and we were assigned a room on the 8th floor that was dark, dingy and smelled of smoke...the staff was very nice and reassigned our room across the hall. The ice machines on this floor as well as the 7th and 6th (this whole floor seemed to be shut down) didn't work, we had to go back to the lobby to get ice. The next night someone had a party in the banquet area and appareantly the staff felt the need to book them across the hall and next to us for the night, need I say more on that subject, again, this hotel is ver large with many rooms. The gym and indoor pool area seemed clean, but small and I couldn't tell you where the restaurant was in the hotel and the lobby bar was closed for most of the time, well at least did not have a bartender, only did I see him once Sat. afternoon and we had him open a bottle of wine for us, but he was not very sociable at all. The hallways of the hotel were in need of maintenance as the radiator covers were broken and some wall paper seemed to be peeling. When leaving, the elevators didn't seem to work or for some reason were exremely slow compared to the other days we used them. Overall I feel the room was not worth the price and we would not return, next time we will stay at either a B&B or chain hotel.

In short, the whole place is a half-baked sham. It should be closed. It is NOT a resort, by any stretch of the imagination.Much of the hotel is in disrepair and is dirty and very poorly decorated. "

The Kershoken is a lovely traditional resort on a beautiful natural mountain landscape. The lobby is quite impressive. The Hotel Registration was friendly and efficient. The room accomodations were fine with beautiful views to the surrounding landscape. Housekeeping was excellent and any requests for additional towels, pillows, etc were responded to quickly. Our only critique was of the Dining Room facilities whic seemed rather dark and gloomy. The choices for lunch were very limited. The Dining room manager however informed me that the menu was in the process of being revamped since new management had just taken over the contract with the hotel. Hopefully there will be a vast improvement in that particular service. Other than that we as a family were very pleased with the accomodations. There was a beautiful golf course on the premises and a good sized tennis court. We had the opportunitty to observe a wedding taking place in the outdoor gazebo and I would guess that other couples in the area would consider this resort a beautiful location for a wedding. The vacation was very relaxing!

Me and my family stayed for one night at the Hudson Valley Resort in mid July 2007. The signs leading to this hotel were poorly marked and we needed several attempts to find it. Besides the hotel amenities, there were no other place of interests near this hotel. The lobby was huge and elegant. The staff were somewhat unsure about their responses when asked. We were given a room on the eight floor. The hallway leading to our room was narrow, hot, and quite smelly. Our room was also hot until we turned on the air-conditioning. The room was spacious, but it had a long water-leaked stain on the ceiling directly above one of the beds. The bathroom was also spacious with marble tiles and a granite counter. Both the room and bathroom were clean. The swimming pool was okay, but not very clean.

very beautiful hotel but somewhat out of the way with no close restaurants. the restaurant there was a little pricey.
