Front staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The continental breakfast included a make-your-own waffle area which my son loved.

Good location, near freeway, shopping and coastal area/beaches.

Arrived late on Valentine's day. Graveyard front desk attendant was exceedingly pleasant and helpful. Stayed on the third floor, facing the highway (and the ocean). The highway noise was barely noticable. Room was clean. Shower/toilet/sinks all functioned well. Wi-fi no problem. Free breakfast was not the best we have enojoyed, but was adequate. Tables in the breakfast room are hopelessly small. Eat outside at the pool if the weather allows. A different front desk attendant was also very pleasant at checkout. Coffee in the lobby was handy for the drive out.

The hotel is conveniently located just off Hgwy 5 in Encinitas, which allowed quick driving access to many area beaches. Given it was so close to the highway, it was surprisingly quiet (ensure you are on the non-highway side...) The room itself was large and clean, with a decent onsite breakfast included in the low rate.

Very clean. Very clean hotel with the usual free breakfast and very convenient to local attractions!

We literally decided to get a hotel the same day for some "alone time." I checked all the reviews and decided to book. I was quite happy I chose this one. It was easy to find, check in was fast, the room was nice and clean, and the breakfast was the basic continental breakfast offered at most places, though they kept the room clean and stocked. We were right off the freeway, but we always have the air on for white noise, and didn't hear a thing. I am a light sleeper, and we were on the side facing the freeway, and still had a lovely sleep. We would definitely stay here again.

It was clean. It is bare bones. Unattractive reception area. No frills at all. This is a hotel in a safe and accessible area. It is clean but offers no frills at all. Very basic motel room. Unattractive reception area.

I was optimistic after reading the past reviews however the I-5 noise was a concern. Upon arrival I nicely asked the general manager if it's possible to get a non I-5 facing room. He called around to his crew and found out he had one room but it was just vacated and needed to be cleaned. He had his cleaning crew get working on it right away and 20 minutes later we were in the room. The a/c worked just fine, the curved shower curtain, microwave, refridgerater, HBO and coffee maker were a nice touch. The rooms appear to be recently remodeled however still had that typical "hotel smell". Not bad, just a distinct scent. The make your own waffle breakfast was really fun and much better than the expected stale pastries. Location is awesome for pretty much anything. Only 20 minutes to San Diego and 2 miles from the beach. I give this a 5 smile rating simply for the Value for Money. Don't expect a 4 Seasons, but you will not be disappointed for the money spent.

The room was clean and the maid service normal, only one item made for three restless nights, the king bed sheets did not fit the bed, nor did the above cover. Once or twice per night we had to tuck the sheets corner's back in place.

One of the best breakfast buffets one could ask for. Wireless internet connection was intermittent. This hotel is a great value. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have experienced in a number of other places with the same star ratings. The only complaint I have is the wireless high speed internet connection was intermittent and could use much improvement.

Considering the cost this location is hard to beat! It has a location close to freeway, rooms are fairly clean. People are helpful and friendly. It has a great breakfast with many options to choose from. Rooms are not bad considering age of motel. Only one small negative-- the entrance is small and can only be accessed from one direction. We will stay here again on our next trip.

I wish we would have known that they where doing roof repair and the pool was closed. Asked for another towel and that never happend. Moved to another hotel the next day.

It was very clean and roomy. I don't have any. Good and pleasant, accessible and roomy.

We stayed there several nights in the Spring of 2008 and are going back this fall for a week. After searching just about every travel sites, I found this property to have the best reviews and by far the best value. I would however only stay on the side of the building that is not next to I-5.

Easy to get to and from. Staff was very cordial and helpful.

Pretty quiet. The sink was plugged, so every time we brushed our teeth it would fill up, and not sure how clean the blanket was on one bed, we took it off. The hotel was fine. The only complaint I would have was that the sink was plugged so every time we brushed our teeth it would feel up, the only reason I mention this is because housekeeping should have noticed when they cleaned. And the blanket on one bed had some spots that I questioned the cleanliness of, we took it off, but the sheets seemed to be clean.

Same experience as other reviewer. They claimed they didn't have my travelocity reservation and it took me an hour to straighten it out by calling travelocity and indded they did have my reservation. Also, they put me on the noisy side of the building right on top of the interstate, and I couldn't sleep all night as the noise was deafening.

the rooms need to be vacuumed a little bit more. especially under beds.

The breakfast was great, especially the waffle maker! I only noticed "compact" parking spaces on the side of my room. I only stayed over night. Good value and comfortable room. I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a descent room at a good rate.
