For a 90 & 95 years young couple this hotel had everything that we needed. 1st floor room, used walker to walk from car to sliding glass door which lead to my room, having a resturant ajoining was great too.

Very friendly and convenience location. Bed, need new bed badly.

I've stayed in 8-10 different hotels in the Portland area, some over and over. Tried this place because I like to swim in a pool. The pool was clean, but a high vibrating whining noise was intolerable. (And I really TRIED and WANTED to swim..!!!) When I mentioned this to the staff the next am, they were indifferent and claimed it didn't exist. The bed was VERY uncomfortable, likewise the giant foam pillow. The room was dark and depressing. There are MUCH better deals and rooms in the Portland area. This is a kind of "take-your-money-and-we-dont-care" place. Notice the lack of interior photos offered by this hotel? That should be a clue...

We didn't use the pool or exersize room. The staff was very friendly and cooperative. We didn't want housekeep but the staff was great with getting us extra towels and complentary coffee and water every day.

Friendly staff, clean, nice rooms, great breakfast at Friendlys' right next door, highly recommended! I didn't like anything! Nice place for the money, classy and clean, quiet and friendly. You can walk to Friendly's for breakfast, the dinner restaurant and lounge are right next door, very convenient. Everyone was very nice, will stay there again next time I'm in Portland.

Our room was great, recently renovated with newer carpets. The beds were comfy; the pool area was EXCELLENT. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The common areas were neat and clean and the free computer access was also a bonus. We travel extensively and appreciate how important maintenance is to a property that has not been recently constructed. The updates here are extensive and ongoing. Newer fencing ; an impeccable pool area ; new beds and good linens were all part of our experience.

The room was very nice and had a very comfortable king size bed! Great balcony! It was very hard to find a parking space! I was very impressed with the room. The king size bed was extremely comfy! Nice balcony. The room was clean. The only negative, is that is was very hard to find a parking space, had to drive around the building several times, and finally had to park at the attached Friendly's Restaruant. Other than that, highly reccomended!

The towels smelled really bad, the pillows were so old you could smell old body odor through the pillow case, the shower didn't drain. I had to hold my nose while drying off with the towel because it smelled dirty. I used my shirt that I had worn all day as a pillow case because I couldn't stand to let my face touch the pillow. The hotel doesn't offer a breakfast and still charges as much as everyone else. Then when you check out they very quickly sum up your balance which, in case you don't listen very carefully, includes a charge for the safe in your room. If you happen to hear this and tell them you didn't use the safe they will remove the charge. It's only $* or something, but if they charge everyone who doesn't catch it - just doesn't seem right to me. Luckily we only had to stay here 1 night. You couldn't pay me to stay here again!

The hotel was fine. There was a whirlpool in the bedroom, which was great. Taking a left out of the hotel parking lot was a PAIN, so if you're headed into Portland or back on 95, be aware of that. There was also a girls' sports team staying there and teen-aged girls were running through the halls screaming (we were near the pool & fitness center) after 11:00 at night. I had to call the front desk to get them to do anything about it, even though my room was one room away from the front desk. They DID call the coach and it became quiet. It just stunk being woken up and having to call. Everything was fine, but it wasn't worth the money. I paid $160 for a king room and really, I feel like I should have just paid the $60 or $70 for the Motel 6 up the road...or maybe another $10 or 15 for the Holiday Inn next door. Live and learn! "Rate was $*/night and the a/c was broken. We were on the 2nd floor so tried opening the sliding glass door but there were people partying in the parking lot. Very loud, filthy language and the next morning there were beer bottles and broken glasses all around behind my car. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were these huge horrible foam rubber things. We slept about 1 hour and paid thru the nose for it. This place is a real dump!"

We booked this hotel at the last minute for an escape from NYC/weekend getaway to Maine, and for under $100 a night over Memorial Day Weekend, we couldn't beat the price or the convenient location. It's located in Portland, about a 10/15 minute drive from the arts district downtown. Nothing spectacular, but the service was decent and the room was clean. There is a Friendly's restaurant attached and another italian restaurant that's open for dinner.

The staff was excellent. I can think of nothing, they meet my expectations. This is a great hotel if travel is involved. They have airport shuttle and free parking while on your trip. The staff is always polite and helpful. The rooms are clean and well appointed.

"Was a good place to lay our heads, the hot tubs (2) were nice, they helped after hours on road and sightseeing!"

My wife and I went to Maine from Pennsylvania, so that I could introduce her to my family that lives there. The hotel was in a perfect location between each of them and not too far from the beach (if you are driving yourself). The restaurant, Verrillo's, was undesirable. The service was flaky, the food was over-cooked, and their inventory was null. We had to change our order several times, and by the time it got to us it was cold. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others, but spare yourself and eat at Friendly's or some other restaurant.

"Have stayed @ this Hojo twice in the last couple of months for one night each time prior to road races. Convenient location right off the interstate, but looks like it could use a little ""sprucing up"". Did like the jacuzzi tub the night before the marathon. The door to the room we stayed in the last time felt a little shakey, but overall it was fine for one night, but that's about it. No cleanliness issues, and there's a Friendly's restaurant attached to the hotel. "

Missing in our room was a refridgerator and microwave we later learned that they have them on certain floors.

The pool was great. Maid service was great. Unfriendly desk clerk, no apology for fire alarmsat 1:30 am. The desk clerk was rude and demeaning every time we went to her. We were not apologized too, or even explained to, why we had to get out of our rooms at 1:30 am for a fire alarm. It was below 30 degrees. The halls were so unreasonably cold nobody wanted to swim because of the long, cold walk back to the room.
