This was my first stay at a Howard Johnson, and was the last. I waited two hours for a working iron, and during those two hours, no one had the courtesy or professionalism to call and apologize for the delay. Busy or not, a phone call would have at least exhibited some kind of care and professionalism towards your hotel guests!!!!!

Professional atmosphere and cleanliness. Ambience is somewhat shady and third worldish. A well made very clean room where everything worked, and well, a less-than-stylish tropical decor that makes you chuckle to yourself.

We stayed there on vacation during the christmas holiday. And it is a very nice hotel with friendly staff and a lovely pool. The items in the gift shop are a little expensive but the free breakfast and wamth of staff makes up for it!! They advertise a gym but I still have it found it, wonder if its hiding. Overall nice hotel !

This is a warning to anyone who wants a good night's sleep and is relying on the Howard Johnson name. There is a Latino disco/bar that plays until 2:00AM. The music is DEAFENING - lyrics clearly heard on upper floor. We complained to the night manager at midnight and he could NOT have cared less. The day manager was no help, refused to refund our money, and grudgingly cancelled our next two nights and authorized a refund. The wait staff did not understand english well enough to take an order, either. ZERO rating if I could!!!

my experience at the hotel was fine, but dont use orbitz to book the room, i found out after i got there that i could have gotten the room for $30 less [...]i got screwed by orbitz and i will never use them again......

Nothing. Location, difficult to leave in the morning due to traffic. I would not recommend this hotel for any reason. It was a bad experience.

great until check out I requqested a smoking room and was denied my 50.00 deposit after being informed the room was a non-smoking room...I felt very cheated, but the staff was nice during my stay I didn't make a big deal. It made my trip it a little more challenging

Easy to see from the interstate. I speak English, not Spanish. Poor customer service. Location was good. Make sure to remember your toothpaste, or know how to ask for it in Spanish. Don't bother trying to call out long distance from your room. You need a phone card from the gift shop. Say "phone card" or else cashier won't know what you¿re asking for. Oh, and they hung up on me twice when I tried to call.

I enjoyed my stayed in every aspect however i hate bugs and i saw not one but many roaches 3 and different occasions i was very scared to have those little creatures in one of my bags going home..

The Howard Johnson is a decent place for an overnight, but not if you need airport shuttle. We arrived at 10:00 PM and waited until 11:30 PM for their shuttle. If we'd known it would be THAT LONG we would have taken a taxi. Or stayed elsewhere. All other hotels with shuttles run at least every 1/2 hour, HOJO should too.

There was a problem with my hotel reservation which was caused by either (1) Howard Johnson's reservations being closed over the weekend or (2) Orbitz info not being received in time. Staff did their best to resolve the issue, but I had to give my credit card and have it charged another $84. I understand I am to receive a credit, but it was an aggravation I did not need as I was traveling due to a medical emergency.

the hotel is not at the airport...$50.00 cab ride to the port for a cruise. When our friends arrived at the airport that evening they were told the van was on the way..it never arrived and they had to take a $30.00 cab ride. Much of hotel is under construction.

night managers were cool day managers were awful i asked for a robe to be put in my room from day one i was told i would get it the next morning i still have not received it to this day. the hotel only has maid service til 5:00pm anything you need after that wont happen til the next morning if you were lucky. this was by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. the day staff was so rude it was unbeleiveable. the staff at the dinnig room was even worse the entire day and dinnig staff should be fired, and DON'T ask for an exstended check out time because you will only get an half our. I travel for a living as well as for pleasure i would not recomend this hotel to anyone dead or alive. I paid a month in advance for my room and trip and even my reservations were not correct when i got there. at least the top floor suite was nice and the maids did a great job but as for the rest WOW! yours truly an abbot traveler! PS. if you stay at this hotel dont fly into FT.LAUTERDALE AIRPORT you won't get picked up nor dropped off there.

Good experience, very friendly staff! Clean, safe, environmentally friendly laundry policy! Make sure if you are sensitive to smoke you get a room on a non-smoking floor!!!!!! Very helpful when I needed to change rooms!!! Would definitely go back! Completely accommodating staff!

It was a pleasant hotel -- they offered a free upgrade to a kingsize bed in their penthouse section that was very nice. It was a bit close to the highway and there was a fair amoiunt of highway noise. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

I only stayed for two days while waiting on my cruise. I had no issues and the stay was very pleasant. We had a rental car which made it easy to get to where we wanted to go like to the beach and restaurants. All in all I would recommend this hotel and the price was right.,
