I didn't like the hotel. The pool was very very dirty, the way to the beach was dirty too. The people who work in the hotel were unfriendly and the pictures made the hotel look better then in reality. You couldn't eat nearly. You HAD to drive with the citybus or the shuttle. I wouldn't stay here again.

The pool and hot tub were great. The breakfast buffet was overpriced and not good. Things I loved: the pool and poolside bar, the hot tub, the free shuttle to South Beach. Things I liked: the room, the classic car theme, the gift shop. Things I was disappointed with: the service in the restaurant, the breakfast buffet, the ice machines.

There is no work out room as was advertised, I'm bummed about that. I was bothered by security for my TV's "noise" when it wasn't even loud. The hot tub was nice, but the breakfast was not. I paid cash for the extra fee's and was asked to pay them again. I did not ! Overall this hotel is so-so!

room was very outdated, peeling paint in room, peeling paint off of the tub - scarey - alarm clock did not work, floors were not swept, lamps were about to fall over. Towels were worn and small. Four people in the room and they set up for 1 person. To go to the pool, you had to go out the front entrance of the hotel and we told them numerous times that the side door was locked and no one opened it. Advertised beach access path was dirty and as a hotel guest you would have had to pay for an umbrella and chair. Very noisey on our floor from workmen across the hall.

Location was good-part way between South Beach and the wonderful mall! In residential area! We learned the public bus system as we took it several times. The shuttle driver to/from the mall left EARLY (6:15 instead of 6:30), next shuttle not until 9:00pm. Again, we took public transportation in the pouring rain! Regarding the room, it was okay, bed uncomfortable and bathroom extremely outdated and tiny! Overall, it was okay for a girlfriend getaway.

The first room that we were put in had a horrible smell that we had to keep the windows open the whole time. The walls and furniture had dirt marks all over them. There were hairs all over the bathroom sink. The shower did not have enough water pressure to even keep the shower running. My husband had to keep the shower nozzle on by wedging a piece of soap between the nozzle and the wall. When I complained to the front desk they said it was a major job to fix it so they switched our rooms. Put us right in the middle of six rooms full of spring breakers. I had heard that hotels don't replace the coffee cups so I did my own experiment. I dirtied the cup and then put an ink mark on it to identify it and sure enough, it was wiped out and placed right back on the table for the next use. I am not a picky person when traveling but I would NEVER stay here again. The price was just a little cheaper than other places.

Overall my stay was great... I had housekeeping daily though alot of the workers I could not understand what they were saying (another language). The rooms were large and when a problem arose with my tv...they came immediatly and fixed it. The front desk attendants were helpful whenever I needed them....GREAT STAFF...

Location was ideal from going to Marlins baseball game, hanging out on South Beach and enjoying Ocean Drive, Shopping on Lincoln Rd., and Aventura Mall as well as going on Airboat Ride in Everglades.

The restaurant was unique. Very old, very small beds. very loud. My husband being a facility manager, saw many code violations, exposed wires. and several other things. The hotel was very old. The beds were to small. There was always sand on the floor in our room. The water in the shower was burning hot one moment then freezing cold the next. I will never return to this hotel again. I will and have told my friends to stay away from this hotel.

our stay was okay, not somewhere well stay again. out of three nights we move 4 times and they wanted us to move again for the fifth time. I went with three other ladies and we are all in are early 20's and there was nothing for us to do at the location where we were staying. We to take the bus or a taxi to south beach where everything was. So if we go on a girls weekend out again we will go to south beach only because thats where everything is. In all it was worth the money we spent.

Waking up to the view of that beachfront really made me feel like a million bucks every morning!! Front desk was soooo helpful and had great advice on things around town, Bayside Mall and Lucky Tattoo on 11th St!!! And while South Beach is up all night long and you are ready to crash for the night, you can go back to the hotel where its nice and quiet!!! We requested highest floor balcony available and thats exactly what was waiting 4 us! CLEAN, and reliable Room Service! Jet Ski rental right outside of hotel!!! 24hour parking security with plenty of spaces! come and go as you please without waiting 30 minutes on valet parking! My fiance and I love this place. SUPER AWESOME LOCATION rent a moped for 68 bucks A day on 5th St! 9 minute ride to South Beach and also Gr8 for Parking!!!! 30th St beach along with 1st St beach are by far very pleasing! Fort Lauderdale Snorkeling and Casino Cruise close by! 1 1/2 hours to Key Largo John Pennekamp! We are definitely Booking another stay next summer!!! This trip couldnt have gone any more smoothly!

The room was run down and the air conditioner cycled on and off every 15-30 seconds and couldn't be turned off. The room was very spacious but had paper thin walls.The pool area was very run down. Not the good value I thought it would be. The pictures made it look 10 times better than it was. I read the previous reviews and thought they were generous.

the veiw from our room was breath taking. we got up early just to watch the sunrise from the ocean. The pool looked wonderful with the palm trees around it. staff was great! We thought the price could have been alittle lower but I guess its expensive to be on the beach. We would gladly return again!

The hotel is very close to the busstop going to downtown, wallmart, aventura mall,south beach. The beach is 25 meters from the pool and excellent. The hotel we gave a 4 star rating.

I loved my stay at the Howard Johnson! The staff was so nice! The restaurant food was good! The SPA was GREAT! I give this hotel two thumbs up! It Is great and cheap! Miami beach is right in back of this hotel and you can rent jet ski's! I am going to stay here every time I visit Miami! Pleased in ILLINIOS!
