The helpful front desk attendant. The long hallways and lack of hot water. The hallways are at least two blocks long, but that's not all. Beyond that, the first room I was in had no hot water, and the water that did come out of the faucet was brown. Thankfully, the staff relocated us a half block closer to the boiler where we had warm clear water. I still would highly not recommend this hotel. It's not worth the money.

Very dirty, run down, it took three rooms to get one that was clean enough, windows locked and heating/cooling worked. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, just awful!

Convenient location. Bed was too hard and not well kept. It was good mainly for the location, the front lobby was nice, but the rooms and hallways looked like they needed serious repair.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was conveniently located near shopping malls and open market. The room was very clean and comfortable. Excellent rest. I will return and refer this hotel to my family and friends.

It was downtown so we could walk around to the shops and the mall. It felt like a cheap hotel without a microwave. The TV didn't work right. We arrived back to our hotel after coming from the fair. I wanted to warm up our food we had no microwave in the room so I went up to front desk which was not a short walk. The front desk reply was there was no access to a microwave till the morning. Also shortly after arriving we ran into an elderly couple who had checked in when we were checking in. They had accidentally left their camera bag outside the door for maybe 10 minutes, it had been stolen with their medication and car keys in it.

"If there was a ""continental breakfast"" we never saw it. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean and we have no complains about the room or staff."

Reasonably close to downtown area. Long hallways. This hotel got the job done for us. The room was fine. Nothing fancy. The hallways were really long. I literally think we had to walk 1/4 mile through hallways to get to our room from the front desk. The next day I discovered that there was a parking lot near our room, but the entrance over there wouldn't have been accessible after hours anyway. It looked like the hotel offered a complimentary computer in the lobby for internet access. The hotel is located less than half a mile from the downtown area of Anchorage. The hotel is a very short walk to the train station. I would be willing to stay here again.

It was available. Poorly maintained. The hotel actually does not face the main street as implied by the address. We drove right by it on the way in. The bathroom door in our room was half off the hinges and would not close. There was no hot water for showers on the morning of checkout.

The hotel was clean and all the staff was helpful. The closet bar was low (for disabled use) but the safe filled the area where clothes would hang. We thought the hotel was clean and well maintained. The front desk staff and bell staff were helpful and although the shuttle wasn't available for our early, they had a cab waiting to pick us up when we checked out.

Location! Didn't offer Breakfast but advertised as though that were included. Excellent location close to shopping and restaurants. Walking distance to most downtown attractions.

Ease to downtown anchorage shopping. Rooms were outdated, hard beds and smelled of smoke. I would not recommend this hotel. I am appalled that this is a recommended hotel - as the rooms were dirty, in need of a complete make over and smelled like a dirty ashtray, even though the hotel is non-smoking. The hallways were dingy - low ceilings and not conducive to luggage, too many stairs to maneuver. The beds had the well used feel to them, were hard as board and not comfortable.

The lobby has been greatly improved since becoming HOBO. The rooms were cold and the heating system was outdated and inefficient. There were derelicts roaming the halls. An inebriated man was passed out in the hallway to the swimming pool. The unmentionable man propped the pool door open to clean, but was not to be found for the next hour. The desk staff was friendly, but seemed in a hurry to return to the back room. There was not a comfort zone. I will not use this hotel again.

Good downtown location. Poor front desk/administrative assistance. Front desk staff unwilling or unable to assist with billing info. They took credit card imprint for incidentals then refused to tear up or relinquish even though no charges were applied. Makes me very uncomfortable to know that there is a signed credit card imprint floating around when identity theft runs ramped!

Location in downtown area and swimming pool. Dirty hallways, extremely poor service.
