The rooms were not clean, smelled, had out dated features and decorating and the plumbing was not in good repair. The motel was to the point that if it were any worse, we would not have stayed. We figured for one night we could close our eyes and hold our noses.

Friendly service The location was horrible. I felt unsafe. The hotel was under renovations, so it looked horrible. I would not stay at a Howard Johnson's again. I was not told that they were renovating. We had to take a cab to the casino because the shuttle was not in service. My receipt stated they had shuttle service. There was also no breakfast available. Very dissappointing!

really bad!!!!! moldy walls , moldy bathroom, filthy carpets, dirty beds (hair found on blankets, drool and lipstick marks on pillows). we tried to get out of our stay and get a refund and we were refused. we were offered a different room at a discounted price and that was the best they were going to offer. we left and stayed at a hotel down the road. it was much cleaner and wasn't smelly and it was also cheaper. if you stay here make sure you look at the room first before giving your credit card # because there is no turning back.........

this place specializes in "bait & switch" billing. they use several deceptive sign in sheets and trick you into signing for a higher rate than the clerk states at check-in. they then say you signed for the high rate that they lied to you about.

We wanted to visit Niagara falls on 4th July and were looking for an inexpensive hotel close to the falls. This hotel is 4 miles from the falls. The rooms were big, but the carpet was dirty and smelly. The fridge in our room was really old. The bathrooms were old, and although, clean, didn't look so. But the thing that ticked me off was that the sheets were a size small for the mattress (They put a full size sheet on the queen size bed). I complained and they promptly put on new sheets though.

Incompetent, duplicitous, uncaring staff and management. Kept going back from what they would have said (room available vs not available). Gave excuses for how any issues in services/facilities was not their fault at all.

Disgusting! This was the worst hotel that I we have stayed in so far! The staff is helpless, made zero efforts to correct the situation when I complained. The sheets were not changed from the prior guests, but the bed was made to look like they were. Hair and stains on the sheets. Garbage bag on the balcony. spider nets all over the room, hair everywhere on blanket and sheets of a supposedly clean room. Ended up asking for clean sheets and changing them myself when came back to the hotel at night and found that still nothing was done. Would not tell me the name or the phone number of the manager. Us and our friends occupied 3 rooms and they were all equally disgusting. Awfully overpriced!

I call the experience as the worst part of my life, and my Niagara fun was taken away bcse of the conditions of the rooms,Rooms are never cleaned, before giving to us and after we stayed three days the floors are not cleaned,I felt like I am staying in barber shop with one old bed, ladies hairs everywhere in the room and they say the room was cleaned before giving to us. This is old hotel and everything in the room and hotel is older than three decades,we were given rooms where already other guest were inside, later they apolised and they gave worst room I have ever seen in my life.I will never return to this hotel and never recommend to anyone,

It was a place to stay. Water temp fluctuated, open soap left, 4 channels on TV did not come in, had to fix lights in room. It was nice as a place to stay. Four of the channels on the TV didn't come in. The water temp changed during my whole shower to hot. Someone who had the room before us unplugged the lights and we had to figure out what was wrong why they would not turn on and plug them in are self. Bed was every hard and pillows were not fluffy.

I am a well seasoned traveler being in the military for many many years and I can honestly say that I would have rather spent the night in a tent. When we arrived to check in we asked if our room was ready and was told that it was. So after hiking up stairs with our luggage, we get to our room to find the door open, the room smelled like a smokey tavern, the bed wasn't made, and the room itself looked like a cheap hourly motel room. My husband and I went back downstairs to to inform the front staff of what we found and instead of calling somone the front desk clerk yells out of a back door to the maid service chastising her about the room not being clean. My husband and I were mortified. The clerk put us in another room that was equally dreadful. The bed basically had the comforter thrown over it and the balcony was covered in cobwebs. We will not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Nothing. Everything - they should have something called ethics! Worst ever hotel I stayed in America. They don't have any sense for travelers expectations. They just exploit people in need of a place to stay during their vacation. Wish someone takes them to court very soon!

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone unless they were desperate. The first room that they gave me stunk like mildew or mold. It was so bad that I couldn't sleep. The furniture was old, battered, and bruised, and the mattress felt like it was 20 years old. The pillows were all stained and either lumpy or flat; they each only had one pillowcase on them, that slipped right off. The sheets on the other bed in my room looked like they had been attacked by moths. The room itself was so dimly lit that I had to have the lamps and bathroom light on to feel comfortable that nothing was going to crawl on me. The fridge had some yellow spill across the bottom that hadn't been cleaned. They have a "Pay up front, No Refund" policy that should have clued me off right away. I complained about my first sleepless night, so they gave me a different room the second night. This room, thankfully, had no odor. One of my pillows was new, but the other was old, lumpy, and stained. The bed was more comfortable, but it was more of a 4" mat on top of a Marriot boxspring than it was an actual mattress. There were food wrappers and a plastic fork sticking out from under the old dresser. The paint in the closet was peeling off of the walls. The only positive thing I can say is that the bathrooms in both rooms were clean and appeared newly redone, as were the rugs in each room. The Mexican restaurant on premises was only OK. I wouldn't go back if they gave the rooms at the hotel or the food at the restaurant for free.

Quiet room. Shower did not work properly, sliding door did not work. Hotel was a disappointment, type of room asked was not what they wanted to give us. Definitely would not stay at the Howard Johnson again and would not recommend it to someone else.

Room was smaller than a broom closet! Rooms were very very dirty, found garbage in the nightstand drawers. Guess the cleaning people missed it.Bed very lumpy with feather pillows about 30 years old. No locks on the windows which was creepy!.Not worth the money that we spent for 1 night.Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The room was reasonably clean and the location was easy to get to. The bathroom sink had rust stains and the glaze was coming off. The first room had a flickering bathroom light, and I wasn't able to get a wireless signal from there. We were moved to another room because it was easier than trying to get someone from maintenance to come by that evening. Apart from a rusting, peeling sink, my room was clean and comfortable. The service was really good too.

The desk clerk was very courteous. No breakfast at this hotel. The hotel is located close to American Falls. There is no breakfast facility. There is a Dunkin' Donuts shop outside the hotel and that is the primary source of refreshments. During our course of stay, we visited Dunkin' 4 times during 2 days.
