My husband and I stayed threre for 1 night for a romantic getaway. The hotel is very clean. We have stayed several times before. The hotel has upgraded all their sheets and bed covers. They did a fantastic job. The staff are very friendily and eager to please. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna are great. Clean and heated. For the price, you could not ask for more. We have stayed at many 3 and 4 star properties that are equal or less than this HOJO. Had a great time, will return again soon.

I chose this hotel specifically for it's pet friendly status and they far exceeded my expectations. Great place to walk the dog behind the hotel and excellent brochure at check in for those travelers wanting activities with their pets which included directions to the dog park and places to walk your dog as well as local vets, pet stores, etc. In addition the room was SUPER clean and very nicely decorated. Had everything a pet loving traveler could want. Nice vacation with my dog!

The large heated pool and jacuzzi and room had a safe. The room was exceptionally clean and had every imaginable feature from wireless internet to a room safe. Also an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, HBO, desk, easy chair. Staff was pro actively friendly.

This motel offered a "home office" room for 65 per night. We got a room with a king bed, a chair w/ottoman, micro/mini-fridge and a desk. There is free wireless for those with a wireless card, and a desktop in the office free of charge. The staff were very solicitious. The indoor pool was heated and the hot tub worked well-almost too much agitation. The location is convenient to Newport and many nearby restaurants.The only minus was the 3.99 continental breakfast at the adjoining Applebee's. The coffee was terrible and the pastries/cereals were all pre-packaged. All in all, we would stay here again whenever we want to return to Newprt.

For the price this place was unbeatable. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and ammenties that I didn't find at the Hilton I stayed in a few days later in Boston. Plus the place is on the island and very close to Newport and all the sightseeing(i.e. the mansions, cliff walk, etc.) If your looking for a cheap place to stay that is clean and reasonbly comfortable, this is the place.

It was a place to sleep. Nothing outstanding. Cold rooms; bitter cold hallways. Basic room. Stay away from the attached Applebee's especially for the $3.99 breakfast. It's horrible and absolutely nothing nutritious. You're better off driving down the street to one of the local places.

We booked this hotel for the weekend because we wanted to visit Newport as well as attend a family function in Wickford. The room was clean, the staff friendly, the pool and hot tub were very nice. The only downside was uncomfortable beds. Downtown Newport is a five minute car ride away although parking can be a problem. I think the price of this hotel more than offsets the hastle of looking for a space. Hotels in Newport are very pricey! There's an Applebee's attached to this hotel for a quick meal, but I would skip the lackluster continental breakfast.

The Howard Johnson that we stayed at was clean, and the staff was professional. The room, however, had a musty odor and the bathroom needed updating. It appears that the room had been recently renovated, as the carpet and bedding looked new, leaving us a little puzzled as to why they didn't make sure the bathroom was in its best repair? On a positive note, our children liked their pool and hot tub.

Friendly customer service. Would like to see a restaurant with the hotel. My husband to be and I stayed over night at this hotel for his 25th birthday and we enjoyed ourself. It felt like a mini vacation and the staff at the Howard Johnson was friendly and helpful.

Very good location, short drive to heart of tourist area. Had noisy air wall air conditioner and noisy dehumidifier unit. Convenient location but room needs upgrade.
