Date of Stay: July, 2009

Not the Hilton but...a good place to crash during the night after a long day of having fun. Good location, 5 mins from Universal, close to restaurants, Wet'n'wild and other amenities. Good for someone with a tight budget... anyways, what else do you need when you go to Orlando and spend most of the time out? only a place to crash during the night. The best part, friendly service, free breakfast and really good waffles.

Convenient location. The hotel was located in a great area. The staff was very friendly, and the free breakfast was nice. Over all, it was enjoyable, although we had one small problem. In our room, we found two small roaches, both at different times and in different places.

The Good: The Location was EXCELLENT. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were well maintained and clean. It was nice having the continental breakfast. The pool looks inviting, but due to our schedule we didn't have a chance to use it. Also, they upgraded our room upon arrival - THAT was greatly appreciated. The Bad: A thorough painting of the rooms is seriously needed. The walls looked dingy and the first night, not good for a first impression! They did not replace the toilet paper in one of our rooms - we went an entire day without it (thank goodness I packed extra for this trip!). They also forgot to include a towel one day, good thing my friend brought her own. Eventually we had to go to the front desk for more toilet paper. Overall, we did have a good stay at the hotel. I would just recommend that in order to improve, the hotel should pay attention to some details - paint the rooms, double check that there is toilet paper and enough towels for the guests in the room. It shouldn't take a whole day to get a replacement roll of paper. This hotel is surrounded by other budget hotels that actually look better in comparison. I think this hotel could get some better reviews if they made some small improvements. I wouldn't stay here again at this point in time, but if they made some of these changes I wouldn't mind going back.

small bed , they just straigthen out the sheet and never change then including the pillow cases, stained carpet and chairs, lights wont work. rude and unfriendly staff.

Very convenient, within walking of everything. Staff was friendly, however, they did not respond to requests for assistance. I was pleased with the hotel. It was clean, convenient and the price was right. I would definitely stay here again.

my friends called and reserved a room, they paid X more dollers a night. the front desk was rude. but it was very cheap and was good for a couple days. the room was clean and everything was in working order. i would stay again.

This place is the worst place that I would not ever suggest my friends to stay here. The front desk service is very bad and unfriendly. They don't treat their customer in a good manner. I booked a queen size, non-smoking, but got a double bed instead. As I went back to talk to the front desk lady, she gave me an attitude saying that she gave me a free upgrade to a two bed, so I shouldn't complain. This hotel treat customers extremely bad. The front desk person is not well trained. As a customer, I am very unpleased of the unoticed upgrade and dismissed of the front desk lady. She never greets the customer and at the end, she puts her hand close to my face and say "BYE". That was very rude and low class action. I am not satisfy with the customer service, so I cancel my reservation on the same day.

for what we paid it wasnt horrible, we had multiple sittings of roaches in our room, I saw about 4..But, location was great, price was great, we were barely in the room so just have to block out the fear of roaches you will be fine

It was very convenient to everything we wanted to do while on our trip. The toilet paper holders did not hold the toilet paper right. Staff was friendly and room was overall good.

1.- They collect more money than I already paid by internet. 2.- The Air Conditioning doesn't work. 3.- The odor in the bath is worse 4.- The costumer services man call us at 4:00 am to say they haven't other room to fix the problem with the A/C. 7.- The room is dirty and ugly NOTE: If you want enjoy your travel don't think about this terrible hotel.

Location and Price. You can tell why its so inexpensive. Visited Orlando on a two day middle of the week, getaway golf trip. I wanted to keep most of my travel costs down because the greens fee is high. This hotel was not only inexpensive but better than I expected. The room was clean and the location of the hotel was near most of the attractions. The room even had an iron, safe, and refrigerator. Entry into the room was from the outside. For the purposes of my trip, I would recommend to everyone and I would definitely stay there again.

I might as well have stayed in my car. None of the outlets worked, the toilet was running constantly, we asked for one king sized bed smoking and they gave us 2 doubles non smoking... it was just a terrible experience. never again. They told us it was walking distance to universal studios... fine, but if you want to walk 2 miles and 45 minutes to get to somewhere where you'll be walking all day then go for it

I expected a budget hotel to be low on amenities, but this Howard Johnson hotel was terrible. Yes, we were just looking for a safe place to sleep at night and shower, but it came in below any of our expectations. The room had a nasty musty odor, there was mildew coming through the wallpaper around the tops of the walls, the beds were uncomfortable, the bathroom light was barely enough too see in there when it was turned on, very low water pressure in the shower, the staff was surly, the Continental breakfast area cleanliness was questionable, and the neighborhood was like a demilitarized zone with neon and Micky Mouse t-shirts. Not even the room phone worked properly when we tried to order a pizza one night. We had to dial 5 or 6 times to get a working outside line, but still got charged by the hotel for every failed attempt, to the tune of over 11.00. Add to that the strange nature of other guests who congregated around the first floor washing machines for private conversations that didn't seem at all to be on the up-and-up made for a very uncomfortable and frankly, worrisome place to come back to every night with our kids. Never, ever again. Stay away from this hotel.... stay far, far away.

Our experience at the Howard Johnson's was practically out of a Steven King novel. I wouldn't believe it if it all didn't happen to me. The first room and the second room had urine on the bed--which the hotel manager refused to believe, but wouldn't come and look at it). When he thought we were around the corner he was cursing us out to the other employee for being a nuisance--I'm sorry we didn't want to sleep on a bed full of urine! He was actually using curse words! I would NEVER stay there again and I certainly won't recommend it to a friend.

The lobby staffs were friendly. The carpeting was dirty and sticky. This hotel is good for people who are looking for a budget-conscious place to stay that is close to the action of the city.

The location is very good. It is very convenience for walking along the International Drive and close to the main attractions such as the amusement parks. The price is very reasonable.
