The staff was great. The rooms were newly renovated. The building smelled of smoke but our nonsmoking room was just fine. The only real concern was our car. The parking lot seemed sketchy, even though the neighborhood we were in seemed okay. It was dark and there were several warning signs about not leaving valuables in your car. We were in our mini van and didn't want to unload the whole thing so I worried all night that someone would break into our car. No one did though. The outdoor pool was fun for the kids. Not heated and there were plenty of flying ants sharing the water with us which freaked out the 2 year old. Not enough to scare her out though. Overall it was a fine experience and a good fit for the price considering that everything else in the area was over $100.

The front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The maid service was great. It's an older hotel especially in the bathroom were paint is flaking and rusty faucets. But it was clean. Had problems with the heater, its an older unit so it always stays on. They did come and fix it. It was around 20 to 30 degrees while I was there so the heater is really important. the lower floors have a small patio that's nice. The rooms are located in wings that do not have a security door. Anyone can come in and out without a room key. However, area seemed pretty safe. It's near a major mall and lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. For the price, its definitely a great deal, safe, convenient and friendly...

It was an excellent experience. Hershey Park was not but 20 minutes away.

Price. 1977 decor. This is no Hampton Inn. I will certainly stay here again on my next trip. The room was clean, the internet worked fine and the bed was comfortable. Wallpaper and carpet were straight out of the 1970's.

I didn't know Ho Jo's were still around. Musty hallways but the room was ok. The ac was cold, but my wife thought it was loud. Most of the people there were going to Hershey park. We weren't, so we had the pool to ourselves all day. Fridge, microwave, tv, hairdryer and coffepot all worked fine. There was plenty of hot water and good pressure. The hotel was located next to everything. 10 or 15 mins to the park. I thought the place was great, but we're not 5 star people. We would rather spend our money having fun than on a hotel. As long as the place is clean who cares, we only sleep there.

the hotel is not that modern, however; it was perfect for our 2 night stay. we went hershey park and they gave us great directions to the park. they also told us where to get discount tickets

The location was excellent, and it is very easy to find all key points of interest from that location. The night people at the front desk were a little odd and acted surprised when I came up to the desk. This hotel is in the perfect location. It is very easy to get to the airport, Hershey Park, several restaurants or any other nearby key destination from there. At the desk, you can get printed driving directions to any nearby point of interest. The girl working at the front desk in the evening was very nice, very helpful and pretty good-looking too. The room was clean and quiet, and it had everything I needed. The whole experience was convenient, efficient and economical. The next time I need to stay in a hotel in that area.

My family stayed here for 2 nights. We had a wonderful time. Room was very clean, bed was comfy. Pool was just out the back sliding door. Very conveient to everything. Not far from Hershey Park. If in the area again . Would stay here. Front desk people were very helpful with directions. Nice and quite at night. Big pool. plenty of towels. Recommended.

Well when I arrived to check inn, the price that rate that was give through your company was stated to be wrong by johnsons front desk personnel, your company had to be called by management to find out about correct rate, took an hour of back and forth before i could even check inn. told them i was paying in cash johnstons said you put it on card, had to get thatr straight, knats or mosquitos in room biteing, bathroom door in order to shut had to lift up on door and slam. just not a very good place.

The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The hallways had a funny smell. When I got there, the receptionist was friendly and asked if I needed directions anywhere - I did, and the directions she gave were very good. I thought the room was pretty nice for the money and was clean and comfortable. I used the fitness center - wanted to use the treadmill but it kept shutting off when I tried to speed up, not sure why. I didn't feel like bothering the staff about it. The complimentary breakfast was ok, not bad. I would have preferred more fresh fruit.

Staff of hotel was very helpfull.Need directions to shopping ? They produce a rather large list with directions to each.Going to Hershey ? They hand you a map that will not get you lost.Location of hotel is great....right down the street from a huge mall, restaurants all around you,Hersheypark about 15 minutes drive.Pool was clean with towel provided. All rooms had a balcony, with the interior rooms all facing the pool.TV went on the fritz on second day,was replaced within 1/2 hour. Not the greatest looking place in the world.....but it just felt like they were looking out for you and your family.

This was my second trip so I knew what to expect. Researched during the day and stayed in my room at night since there is a refrigerator and coffee maker with enough coffee restocked each day. The continental breakfast was plentiful and I could eat a lot and then have a late lunch. The trip was just as good as the last one and aside with a problem with Harrisburg traffic that is not the fault of the motel there was nothing to complain about.

For the price it was a room! The hotel smelled really bad. The rooms were not very clean. Needs a renovation! Short and sweet. Needs a major renovation!

"I just came back from my stay at the hotel and we really enjoyed ourselves. We barely were in our room due to being out at the park and the outlets, however we were pleased to come back to our rooms at night. The rooms were extremely spacious. The price was right, the ammenities were good. I plan to stay here again."

The room had everything I needed. I packed my own food for the 3 days and 4 nights I was there. I didn't have to buy lunch or supper because of the room's refridgerator and with a coffee maker I always had something to drink. The free continental breakfast was great because it was all-you-can-eat so I could have a big breakfast and late lunch. I should mention that the restaurant, Doc Holiday's is now the Lancaster Brewerie. I had supper there on my first night and while the food is good it is a tad expensive so I only ate their once. The wireless internet also made it possible to continue working once I was back in my room.

Peaceful, quiet, convenient parking, friendly staff. Antiquated bathroom fixtures, difficult to operate faucets and shower taps. Toilet too prone to stoppage. Rooms dull and not very attractive, room lighting dull and inadequate, insufficient insulation from other guest room and bathroom noise. Room temperature too difficult to regulate between extremes of hot and cold.

the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable we were staying to visit hershey park and surrounding hershey attractions. the tub was slow to drain and by the end of your shower i was standing in about 3 to 4 inches of water. i enjoyed the clean large pool and staff.

The reception desk employees were great. Very friendly and outgoing. We needed more pillows and it took over an hour to get them. Once they came they were horrible. The hotel was hard to find and not close to much. We had to drive quite a distance to get to a grocery store. The staff was friendly, but there was mold on the ceiling, holes in the lamp shades, and three light bulbs out. Also, several of the other rooms with a balcony had chairs on them, but when we asked for two chairs, it took a maintenance man over an hour to come to our room and tell us that we couldn't get any. The hotel was not full. In fact the room next to us was empty the entire time we were there and there were chairs on their balcony. Not an overall wonderful experience.

When I arrived the computers were down. I reserved a King bed but instead got two queen beds... trumpet convention was in town and everyone was in their room or the terrace practicing...I changed my room three times...I was also in a smoking room, I don't smoke and the smell was horrible... I wanted a refund... But once my room was changed to a Non -Smoking room I was thrilled...Still only two queens not a king...
