This was a bad experience. We could hear the boom-boom base sound and feel the vibrations from the nearby Lounge. We were given a room in the back of the building which was desolate. We parked the car on the other side of the building for security. I slept with one eye open. The room needs a thorough cleaning. There were chewed pieces of gum on the floor by the bed. There was no COLD water. It was lukewarm at the coldest setting. The toilet wobbled upon seating. Even with reservations made ahead of time, the room did not have the air conditioner running. We walked into an 85 degree room at 11 pm. My advice is to pay a little more and go to another hotel.

Looked renovated within last 5 years, good location andserved it's purpose. Shower curtain rod broken, shower temperature would not stay constant. Decent hotel - good location and fairly new. Some repair needed inside room and don't expect much for the breakfast. Served it's purpose as a quick, clean overnight stay.

Although inexpensive, you get what you pay for. They say they do not allow pets but the room smelled of a dirty dog and the carpet had been clawed up at the door. The carpet was dirty and appeared to never been cleaned. The bedspread was stiff from the lack of cleaning. At 9:30 one morning the maid knocked on the door and informed me that I would take room service at that moment or not at all. She was very hard to communicate to as she barely spoke english. I tried to explain that I could be out in 15 minutes but she just replied "No--Too late". The first night someone in another room had loud music playing until after 2:00 AM. The pool did not seem to be heated as it was very cold.

The location was great, but the rooms really need some TLC. There was a hole in the wall behind the bed and the carpet was dirty. The furniture was very outdated as well.

The bathroom door didn't close, coffe maker didn't work, refrig didn't work, power was not working in 1/2 of the room.

The hotel was ok; the location is kind of weird (it's behind a building-- but there's a sign of the hotel in front of that building). The hotel room wasn't good; I thought smoking rooms weren't permitted to have anymore? Since the room we chose was smoking (when we thought it was non-smoking) it had a horrible stench of cigarettes throughout the room. The room's cleanliness was not bad (we had all the necessary stuff available). The only thing killing the hotel stay was the foul cigarette's smell. Overall, I think its an affordable price for a hotel stay but I definitely would rather pay a few extra dollars to stay at a different hotel.

We used the hotel to sleep and to eat breakfast. It provided a room that was very basic, no frills attached. The food was adequate.

Clean, good beds and safe area. Breakfast. I would have preferred bagels or oatmeal. or fruit. Clean rooms, quiet hotel, with good, friendly service. 15 minutes to the harborside events building. I have stayed here before and will again.

My husband and I stayed here one night while traveling through the area. Good wireless connection. Clean. I would feel safe staying here as a single woman traveler.

this was my third time in three months to stay at the howard johnson inn. the two previous times my room was on the back side of the complex opposite the pool. upon arrival i found my room to be in the same location . i asked the desk clerk if it would be possible to stay on the pool side. she moved my room without question. she also helped with locations of restaurants in the area. if i go back i will stay there again.

Location handy to ballpark and airport. Barking dog in parking lot,, loud voices passing by room. For a one night stay, just for the purpose of sleeping and close to the area I wanted, it was fine, they had repainted and upgraded some parts of the room but bathroom renovation was shoddy, fan shuddered, paint plattered, I had to unplug refrigerator due to its noise. Check in was good, continental breakfast was good, convenient location was good.

I had to be in Ft. Myers for the weekend. All I needed was a room with a shower, nothing more. I wasn't there for a beach hotel, etc. The Howard Johnson's met the bill perfectly. It was moderately priced, user friendly, took care of my very late check-in and were ready for me, had coffee and a coffee pot in the room and all in all, made my stay very comfortable. I didn't use the pool or other facilities, there is no dining except for the Continental breakfast every morning, but there are restaurants very close to the hotel. Every member of the staff was courteous and accommodating. I would stay here again and would also recommend it to anyone not concerned with doormen, hotel restaurants, beach locations or bellmen. It is a place to sleep and shower comfortably with a very responsive staff to meet your needs.

Convent location. Pool water was like ice. This hotel met my expectations. The price was right. It was clean, good location. It fit my needs. And I would stay there again. The new restaurant out front - Ozzie's - huge plus. Huge!

All hotels will have there ups and downs - This one of course is no different than the rest. It was located in a good place. Close to shopping and main roads that take you every where you need to go weather it be Naples 45 mns, Sanibel 30 mns, Ft Myers Beach 25 mns. The room was clean and comfortable and rooomy. The inroom safe was wonderful and the bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was friendly and always had a smile. Ice machines required room key and were located at both ends of the building. The pool was great for my son and the area aound the pool was ample for loungeing with a good book or the morning newspaper. Down side of this place is the parking - basically if you arrive after 6pm getting parking near room is impossible and requires you to park up front and if you have a further back room like we did and you have to carry everything that you have across the parking lot. Although it seems to be a pretty safe place there were a few strange people hangin out by the dumpster the first night that we were there. But to the credit of the hotel they seemed to have realized this and relocated the dumpster to another location so that this would not continue to happen. I would reccomend this place for anyone who likes to save a bit. Besides on vacation or business how munch time do you really spend in your room..

Was very dissatisfied with the pool area> Next to the pool area was a motel dump site. The pool area was unused due to uncleanliness and disrepair. The promo of Wireless Internet only worked from Thursday night to Saturday morning. Disappointed. The staff was of no assistance, except for the Assistant Manager who was friendly and nice, yet provided very little assistance otherwise. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was tight. Sink and vanity area was outside bathroom. Small but usable closet space. Small fridge, microwave, and color TV were available. Location was 30 minutes from Sanibel/Ft. Myers Beach.
