The staff was very nice and extremely helpful. It needs updating. Very nice and helpful staff. If you dont mind a motel room that needs updating, it's in a good location.

Trains sound like they're in your room. Total rip off. Coffee maker with no pot. Awful.

Price. Dirty, ugly, thin walls, loud bar next door, train loud. This hotel is bad, let's face it. I was there on a Saturday night and the Bar next door was on all night, the train rolls by every thirty mins or so and makes a loud noise, the walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbor'sTV loud and clear, the dingy small room is poorly lit and has bad caulking work in the bathroom with a bit of mold above the shower. The price is ok.

Trains every hour or more. Even heavier sleepers can't sleep. Seeing how that is the point of a hotel, PLEASE don't stay here.

It was very comfortable. It was WAY to close to train tracks. Trains all night. Good for short stays, or cheap business travels. Way too close to train tracks though, trains go all night. Not good for children or light sleepers (which we had both).

We stayed here because it was all the was left. Every review above has been accurate - from the doors that don't close to the absoulte filth. We had the misfortune of finding marajuana and rum left over from the previous guests in our room. In addition to the dirt - the toilet, sink, window, door, and tub were broken. Please do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs - it is not worth any price.

Air Conditioning worked. Loud bar next door, close trains every 5-10m, blaring the horns. They have ear plugs at the counter. Worst place ever. Beware. Ok, where to begin. 1) Loud bar next door2) Trains very close blowing the horns all the time, as I'm sure it was close to a crossing. The frequency of the trains is horrid. Every 5-10 minutes. Trains travel in both directions. 3) They have ear plugs at the counter. That has to tell you something. 4) Bathroom had leaks from the toilet and the bathtub/shower. I even had to go get a plunger for the toilet from the front desk. 5) Very busy street out front. Route 66, need I say more. 6) Wi-Fi nearly non existent. Oh, it's there, you just can't connect to it. Techie by trade. No wired networking. 7) Cramped quarters, even for a 1 star. 8) Beds are sub-par.

They had just installed new security doors, but they did not fit right in the doorways, letting the sub-zero temperature winds into the room. Mattress all torn up one side. Heater was all or nothing. Bathtub was too small for even small people.

Friendly staff members, very helpful. Right next to a bar with loud music, next to railroad tracks. Very friendly staff and helpful.

Poorly maintained facility. Dirty and far below what I would consider Howard Johnson's standard level of a hotel. Although the manager/owner of the hotel seemed to be involved with the connected resturaunt, there was no discount or breakfast included. Most rooms for that money include breakfast with the room!

The room was freezing cold, heaters not working properly, we were locked out when returning in the evening because the keyless entry card malfunctioned and no room service had come to clean up the room. No apology from the hotel staff. Loud neighbors and the train every 15 minutes woke us up. This is about as bad as it gets - we were very disappointed.
Date of Stay:
July, 2006
High priced for an outdated hotel. Room had rancid odor. Beds were old and falling apart. Insects in room. Rooms need serious make-over.

Located good for our final destination. Drafty, icy parking lot, near railroad tracks, old carpet, mold in shower. It worked for us because we had a long drive and we were tired when we arrived at 11:20 p.m. Management was good and responsive but the room was really dated with old dirty carpet (not because it had not been vacuumed) and there was mold in the grout of the tile shower. Room was very cold when we arrived.

"Light sleepers beware! Trains passed through once an hour, blaring their horns and jolting me awake. My kids slept through it, but I didn't and I had to drive. I had to spend an unplanned night on the road because I was too tired to get home. Next time I will stay on the west side of Flagstaff, like I normally do."

Had joining rooms. Older hotel, we were upper level and had to watch walking on floor. All in all it was a nice hotel could have been a little cleaner and the train runs every 30 min if you don't mind the sound.

The room I was in looked as if it hadn't been fixed up in years. There was carpet coming up in bathroom. There was a lot of sand on the window-sill as well. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

There was a bed. Because I was tired. It was filthy. I wouldn't shower there because I felt like I would get dirtier. Horribly. The staff was nice, but completely unhelpful. The bathroom was so disgusting, I refused to shower there.

December, 2007
Efficient and clean. No hot water in the showers. Staff was friendly and helpful.

It was close to where I needed to be. It was very close to the train tracks. It was a great place to stay if you needs a place just to stay and don't mind the sound of the train. It was right on Route 66, and close to many attractions, but not so close to NAU that it was overpriced.
Date of Stay:

Nothing. A loud train passed by on the hour all night blasting it's horn. We have stayed in HJ hotels many times and found them to be a great place to stay, but not in Flagstaff. It was the worst night I have ever staying in a hotel. A train blasted its horn every hour all night long. There was pink slime in the bathtub (which is easily cleaned).
