The location is unbeatable for a red sox game. The room was clean and spacious. The amenities were good and breakfast in the restaurant was fine. Good price for our needs. We would stay there again for another ball game.

Near Fenway. Near the T. Perfect location. It was hot in the room and the AC is control by the hotel. Overall decent for the nightmaresI read on-line about it. It was clean but needs to be updated and painted. The hotel needs to change that AC control.

Proximity to Fenway is great - just one block from the park - but that is the only positive about this hotel. It is incredibly outdated, bed was like a board, did not feel very safe, etc. Next time I will spend more money.

This was our first trip to Fenway Park. We wanted to stay close so we could walk everywere we wanted to go. I did alot of searching and reading of reviews. Although, the reviews listed for this hotel were terriable, we decided to take our chanches. We were glad we did. The only problem we had was in the middle of our last night there the air quit working. We told them of the problem when we checked out in the morning and the adjusted our bill and took some off for our trouble. Next time we go to Fenway we will stay here. Also, easy to get on and off the subway. We went to the harbour on Sunday and had a great time.

Friendly staff and location for ball games. Paying extra for parking even though their rates are extremely high for this quality hotel.

So bad it's scary. And right next to Fenway Park. After a Red Sox game 100 drunks from the game troop into the hotel bar and keep you awake until they leave. Don't eat in their restaurant. I tried breakfast and couldn't finish it. And not a real picky eater.

We were in Boston for vacation (my son is a HUGE Red Sox fan and had wanted to go to a game at Fenway). The hotel staff was personable and helpful, the neighborhood was clean and safe and the restaurant had an excellent breakfast. It's not a 5-star hotel, but if you're a Red Sox fan, it's an excellent place to stay (our room had a view of the player's exit and workout area).

It was a perfect location. Practically abouts Fenway park! The heat was broken in our sub par room it reached 100 degree. The hotel was terrible. The location was amazing! The staff was decent. We did have the parking fee comped for the predicament with the heat. But overall, a poor experience.

It was better than I thought it would be. The room was clean with no odors.

While the hotel is old and in need of remodelling, they do keep it clean. The bathrooms are little and very outdated (there's tungsten heat lamps in there instead of exhaust fans) and our toilet wouldn't flush unless you held the handle down the whole time. On the other hand, we only used the room for sleeping and it was fantastic for that purpose. It literally is next to Fenway Park and from our room we could see the players entering their private parking area. If you make a trip to Boston for the purpose of seeing Fenway and don't need fancy - it's perfect.

It was very close to Fenway Park. The beds were not at all comfortable.

This was one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever been in. The rooms smelled horrible, it was dirty, the rooms are in dire need of repair/maintenance. I am glad we only wasted the money for one night. The only quality this hotel has is it's location to Fenway during game night. But be warned, you have to pay for parking even as a guest and you better get there early if their is a game, guests are not guaranteed parking even if you have reservations! Howard Johnsons should be ashamed of themselves. Also, don't let your kids out of your site in the hotel, the smell of marijuanna wafted through the air all night.

Location. Absolutely nothing special. 2 stars, good location for what I needed.

We checked in because it was cheaper than other local hotels and very close to the MBTA station (convenient!)The room showed definite signs of wear and tear (i.e. torn wallpaper, water damaged doors, etc.). But when the mouse ran across the room, we knew it was really BAD!

Stayed two nights, you could tell motel was older but bathroom was upgraded and spotless. The a/c control was older version but worked fine. Excellent service from start to finish. Best of all, walked to Fenway, Subway station and Trolley station in less than ten minutes. Didn't like the pay for parking but worth it in the long run. Would stay again.

If you are going to Red Sox game at Fenway Park, this is the perfect place to spend the night! We could see into the park from our window, and watched some of the players arriving right from our room. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We were allowed to check in early, and they even called a cab for us when we wanted to go out for a bite to eat. There is a nice bar and chinees food right off the hotel lobby, the perfect after game hot spot. For an additional $20, you have parking as well, and parking can get very expensive in Boston.

It was close to the subway. It needs serious updating. The hotel is an aged facility. It is in dire need of updating throughout. New paint, new carpeting, the thermostat appears to circa 1960. The hallways smelled of foul odors mixed with air freshener. The staffwas very pleasant but the facility looks to have been forgotten by the ownership. They have the luxury of being located right next to Fenway park so they probably do well as a default hotel for people attending the games. It was surprising that a hotel so close to the stadium and universities would have been left in this condition. I would love to talk with the ownership and convince them to bring this location into the new century.
