This was a big mistake. The rates are very high and the room was terrible and smelled dirty. Our pillows were stained and dirty, and there was hair in the bed and tub. Very outdated and dirty carpets. We couldn't sleep all night and couldn't wait to get out of there.

Nothing. Everything. We arrived at 1:30 in the morning and were checked in to a room where the toilet was not working, it also smelled as if it had not been cleaned, then we were switched to a smoking room that the attendant insisted, it reeked of cigarettes and finally we were placed in a back room at an annex of the hotel. We slept and left as quickly as we could, when we checked out the staff was extremely rude.

Hotel was ok, but swimming pool was closed and no hot tub. Swimming pool is seasonal. Hotel advertisement for hot tub misleading.

We got in at about midnight, and left at about nine the following morning, so it's hard to say much about the hotel. It was an easy location to access from I-81, and was easy to find. For spending the night, and leaving the next morning, it was great. They don't offer a continental breakfast, though they do have a restaurant in the hotel.

Spacious room. There was mold on the wallpaper in the bathroom. Located for easy access to the highways and restaurants. Very friendly staff and good service. Attractive on the outside. The rooms were mostly clean with a lot of space.

Unclean. Extremely unpleasant smell, which they attempted to cover with a strong smelling deoderizer. Bugs in the room and corridors.

It cost me $53 and was worth the money. I didn't feel good about the bed that the sheets might not have been changed. I was tempted to call the desk to have the sheets changed but didn't. I had a problem with the computer key to enter the room. I always had to fiddle with it.

We stayed here to be near HERSHEY and boy was that a mistake! It is a serious truck stop. The kids did like the fact it was so empty so that their ball playing didn't bother anyone.

This trip was nothing special... at all. We were in town for the Eastern Sport Show in Harrisburg and this was the definition of a "seedy" hotel. Housekeeping didn't clean thoroughly- there was a shopping list of some sort left in the room from the last guests (which begs the question what else might have been left by the last people there?)The room TV only worked sometimes. The staff was fairly friendly but service left something to be desired- when they failed to replace items (ash tray in a smoking room)on our second day we were told we had to go to the front desk to get it... which was a walk outdoors. Little things, but they all added up to a less than desirable stay. No perks whatsoever- not even a continental breakfast, a newspaper in the morning, or even a menu for the restaurant in the hotel. Next time we'll stay down the road at a different hotel we found and only for a few bucks more a night.

The housekeeping staff exceeded my expectations & helped me with my luggage. Showers went from hot to ice cold and then back to hot and ice cold Over all an ok experience I would not recommend this hotel for travel to Hershey, PA; it was a little too far. Great price and decent accommodations close to several chain fast foods and a k mart.

We got there and the lady told us she only had one of the more expensive rooms, that comes with microwave, coffee, and fridge, left. The room was nice. Bathroom was decent (except for a towel that looked like it hadn't been cleaned yet). The only thing we didn't like about it was the location - it was truck stop central. Other than that, it was a decent stay.

Other than allowing us to check in prior to the normal check in time, there is absolutely nothing positive to say about this property. If there had been ANYTHING else available in the 25 mile radius of the event we were attending, I would have paid any price to avoid a second night there. Generally unclean, bad odor, noise, air conditioner working sporadically. Definitely would not recommend it nor stay there again.

Nothing! The hotel was located at 1245 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA 17013. I was very disappointed with my accommodations i.e. customer service, facility and security. The attendant on duty was not hospitable, the grounds were un-kept, and my room reeked of cigarette smoke and coffee. My room was located behind the main building in an area that was poorly lit and unsecured. No pass key was required for the entrance and the door was wide opened any passer-by could have entered at will. There were 4 females in my party including myself; I feared for my safety as well as for the others in my party I was so distraught about the accommodations; after 2 hours I went back to the front desk to check out. I expressed my concerns to the attendant on duty and asked to speak with the manager. I was told there was not a manager on duty and I could not receive a refund. I then inquired about a customer comment card. After several minutes of searching, the attendant couldn't find a card. I was finally handed a blank piece of paper from the printer to lodge my complaint on. The Howard Johnson Inn didn't meet any of my expectations; this was my first and last stay with HOJO.

Very convenient location. Liked having a restaurant on site. The bathrooms need to be a bit more thoroughly cleaned between guests. It was clear the tub/shower had not been cleaned after the previous guest.

The Carlisle Howard Johnsons met minimum requirements for our needs. There was mildew in the shower. There was one (uncomortable) chair in the room for seating to view TV. We were unable to locate the pool. The sink area being separated from the tub/shower made it easy to prepare for the next day's travel. The location of the hotel was convenient to I-81 making return to the highway easy.

Large room, large bed. Greeted pleasantly and courteously. Someone always on duty, just a phone call away. Very busy, but quiet. Easy access to major highways.

There were no vending machines to buy water. The beds were uncomfortable and kind of small, no extra pillow or even a blanket! The pool was under maitenance and nobody told us ahead of time. No breakfast options. For the money very poor quality, no friendly management.
