Free parking. Dirty. Wouldnt go back to this hotel dirty and short of towels and no swimming pool.

We stayed at this hotel from December 18th to December 22, 2008. The room was clean and comofrtable. Breakfast was free and with a fairly good selection to eat. The hotel staff was friendly and effecient. The only problem that we had was obtaining hot water for showers during portions of the day. We reported this to the management staff. I think that they already were aware of this problem. I would not have a problem staying there again. Room rate was very good.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times for business trips; proximity to the office I visit is the primary reason. The rooms tend to be run-down (worn carpet, nicked wall-paper, tv malfunctions, etc). Not a great selection of cable chanels on the television; the internet connections are fine. The do serve a decent continental breakfast, though it is not available until 7:00 am, which is a problem for the early rising businessman.

The Torrance, CA, Howard Johnson's met our needs when it came to price, location and features. The bathroom was small, vanity was adequate, beds comfortable and the TV worked. The two wake-up calls were on-time. The hotel is within walking distance to giant mall, shops and great restaurants - as well as coffee shops. I liked the hotel breakfast...lots of variety, with a comfortable seating area. You're close to a lot but not in the heart of LA at this hotel...if you have a car, that makes life easy.

Convenient, clean and quiet. Coffee maker did not work. This hotel was very convenient to where I needed to be for three days in the area. Also close to restaurants and shopping.

The hotel was nicer than it looked in the pictures. No frills as far as a pool or exercise room, but very clean and well decorated and landscaped. Very close to restraunts and shopping and several beaches. If you're going to get out and see things, this is the perfect hotel. If you just want to hang out at your hotel, you probably should go with one with more amenities. But then, your bill is much higher!

Our family wanted a close place to sleep by the beach! We found this hotel to be close to food and beach's all we needed for our mini get-away!

Close to freeway, close to restaurants. They provided us with a crib for our toddler which is nice treat for people traveling with youngsters. Did not allow our check- in time until 1545, outdated rooms that weren't very clean, no pool or workout facility. This hotel was not worth the money. It should only be rated a level 1. The accommodations were outdated, lacking a good cleaning. The continental breakfast was ok. I have to say though, the staff was pleasant to work with despite the fact our room was not ready on time. We would not stay there again for what we paid.

Tried to be positive but, it's really hard.My father had died and I had no choice. First given room with person still there? Hmm?After much walking around. Another room with no towels? A/c which was loud and made you feel still hot? Do you remember tv's which only cleared up after hitting it afew times? The morning coffee was watered down. My wife did enjoyed the fruit. Appeared that this place was running on the cheap and needs to be totally redone. Check in is NOT 12:00 p.m. as stated but, 3:00p.m.!

This hotel was unkept , dirty, very small parking spaces, no pool I think air in rooms didnt work and they were leaking outside of room. also for the price was way over priced more like a one star maybe, the elevator smelled and never would I stay at this hotel evan if I had one night stay free.

Location is right in the center of everything. Access to beach stores food, etc. Carpet was filthy, pillows were too big. I would recommend if your not going to spend too much time in the room. The access to the event I was attending was great. As well as convenient access to the beach, stores and restaurants. Bring sandals or slippers to wear in the room, the carpet was very sticky.

Staff was friendly. Not the best part of town. The wake up call I asked for was never sent from the front desk. Luckily I had the alarm clock as back-up.

Howard Johnson was centrally located between downtown and the beach area. Its good value for the amount of money paid. I like the free breakfast that they offer. you can really save if you have a family and children. The only negative comment that I have is they don't have much ammenities like swimming pools, exercise rooms and buss conference rooms. Its only good for short stay. The rooms are clean, air-conditioning is good and tv has hbo movies free.

Location was convenient. Things were in disrepair -- hot tub, ice machine, lobby. In need of upgrade in room quality, staffing & customer service, or reduced pricing.
