Hotel is located in an industrial area. Seems to have been very nice at one time but currently in need of renovation which seems to be in progress. Restaurant was very nice and a Lounge to open soon. The pool area was large and comfortable and it had a game room. Tennis courts overgrown with weeds. The room was clean and for the price reasonable. I had the feeling this was a hotel, reasonably priced for now, with upside potential

Hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms had iron/board. From the outside, it had an older look like, not updated. Don't judge a book by its cover. Same thing with this Howard Johnson. From the outside looks a bit run down but the room were clean and well maintained and the bed was super cozy. The staff was also very friendly and I would stay at another of these hotels again.

we were very pleased with this hotel. The rooms were clean, and were kept stocked very well. Loved having the sliding glass doors in both of our rooms, we enjoyed setting out there during the evening hours and this also allowed our children the freedom to run and play so they were not always stuck in the room. Pool area was also very nice and clean. If the children were not outside running, they were in the pool swimming. Yes, you do have to ask to have the phone turned on, but this took less than a minute and the staff was very helpful and pleasant with everything we asked. If Rockford track club host another meet we will use this hotel again.

it was terrable there ware ants in the room , there were bullet holes in the glass doors , the pool area was littered with bed matreses, the hot tub diddnt work the restrant attach to the hotel was very poor i will never go back,unless it was free

Inexpensive. Not very clean. Hotel needs to clean the hall rugs, they have a musty odor. If the hotel was cleaner it would be a nice place to stay.

I am a rep. for a retail company and I am force to stay in hotels where my company has an account and this has to be at the bottom of the list. the rooms look like at one time there were amazing but upkeep, cheap fixes, and lazy staff have left the hotel in shambles. Upon entry to my room i noticed that 2 of the dresser drawers hanging off track and the desk chair was missing a wheel. My next issue was that an operator had to connect 1800 #'s and long distances calls which made dialing out on my pda null and void. Finally the morning staff was very unfriendly and acted as if i were disturbing them for their morning tv show. The only good I found was that the internet connection at this hotel was very good and allowed for easy downloads and access to files. All in all i would not recommend a stay at this hotel.

This Howard Johnson left a lot to be desired. The outside of the hotel was a mess. no grass, just piles of dirt and. The mattress on the bed had no bulk to it and slept like a thin cheap mattress. The carpet was badly patched in areas. The wall by the air conditioner was redone and not completed, it looked dirty and unclean. The fire alarm beeped all night long. So I got no sleep the first night. We told them about it in the morning when we came back it was still beeping. No one wanted to help at first, they told us to remove the battery. I told them i had not slept all night and i wanted it fixed. finally the night clerk came and cut it off the wall.

Good shower head. Beds were old, worn out and lumpy, grease on blanket, no replacement. It was not pleasant, beds were tattered and blankets were dirty. No help from the front desk staff, we had to sleep with only a sheet to cover, did not clean between days.

"We booked this property on line and saw they had a hot tub and indoor pool. Don't let the pictures fool you. The property is not clean, smelly, and the staff was very rude in letting us know that children cannot even touch the water in the hot tub. We found out later that you have a 15 minute inspection time that they don't tell you about at check in. Please use it then run like we did. We left within an hour and 1/2 of checking in. We will never stay in a Howard Johnsons again after this very poor hotel."

Location. Room smelled bad, pool area was dirty and whirlpool was cold, staff was not friendly. This hotel needs a total renovation. It looked as if half of the rooms were closed. I would never stay at this place again unless it does a complete renovation, and hires friendlier staff. There were no towels for the pool, and the place was not even filled, there were many empty rooms and I was told that there were no non-smoking rooms.

Close to location desired. Run down. After checking the room, I canceled my reservation and went to a new extended stay hotel for less than $10.00 a night more. 15 minutes away, but I felt I was in a nicer area with a much nicer room.

The pool was kid friendly and good temp for the time of year. Non smoking wing reeked of cigarettes all the time and lamp had no bulbs in them. This hotel was comfortable, inexpensive with a good pool area however the hotels upkeep was an issue and this hotel is in need of renovation. The non smoking wing smelled as if we were sleeping in an ashtray all the time. This hotel catered to layover truck drivers which seem to be its main source of income. It was good for what we used it for however I should seek a better rating for my family getaways!

The pool and hot tub were great. The hotel front desk people were very rude. The maintenance person and the cleaning people were very helpful with the questions I had but the front desk people need to learn some manners.

Nothing. The bathroom was dirty with hair on the floor, tub and sink, and a dead bug carpet not vacuumed and a decal in the bed. This hotel was in a good location. It was not what you advertised. There was not any hot tub, much less in the room. I could not have soaked in the tub anyway because there was hair in it, as well as on the floor and in the sink. There was even a pubic hair stuck to the back of the door. There was a dead bug behind the garbage can in the bathroom. There was a butterfly decal in the bed by the headboard. The carpet was visibly dirty and the fan in the bathroom did not work. The people in the hotel were nice, but not apologetic in the least for the condition of the room.

It was very easy to get to and clean. Extremely close to the airport but could not hear airplanes when in the room. This was a very short notice hotel stay. we probably could have gotten a better deal had we known we were going to be traveling but all in all it was a nice clean hotel with a restaurant, lounge and pool. if we had any neighbors, we couldn't hear them. our room had a sliding door and the rooms on the second floor had a small balcony. very nice to sit outside while the kids watched a show on TV.
