it was a nice experience, id rather have friendlier staff and a working ice machine on my floor. other than those two faults, the hotel was very nice, and the room was by the largest hotel room ive ever been in.

Staff friendly, quiet location. Snack and ice machines broken. Very pleasant one night stay, room clean, staff friendly.

I was quite disappointed in the hotel. It was dumpy, not clean, the breakfast was stale, old and gross. If you weren't there in the middle of it you didn't get anything fresh. They had bugs in the rooms, i asked for a non-smoking room and got a smoking room. The updates or construction they were doing wasn't even to update anything within the rooms. Old smelly carpet, cleaning staff would smoke in rooms as they were cleaning it I would NEVER stay there again. I wouldn't even have it on your sites as a choice to stay. The price was over inflated for the quality of the hotel. I wouldn't even rate this hotel as a 1.

My family stayed here as my 3 year old had to stay overnight a local hospital. Not knowing the area, I was unfamiliar of where to stay. The windows would not lock (good thing we were on the second floor). The bathroom door would not lock and there were tiles missing in the bathroom. We had a joining door to the next room and the door knob was broken and you could hear the guy next door coughing all night long. When I left in the morning at about 6am, there was a man sleeping in the hallway. I went to the lobby to report this and no one to be found. I returned to the lobby 30 minutes later and the guy told me there was no one in the hall sleeping. The guy was gone. The free breakfast was a joke. There were no bagels and I asked for some and I was given 2 bagels for 4 people. There was also cold cereal that had 3 different types of cereal in the same container. I guess the had to finish their boxes like home. Some free breakfast. The best thing about this hotel was that it was halfway clean and that was the only thing. This place needs some good management and a complete rehab of the rooms.

The hotel was not very clean, and it smelled musty. In addition, the following points were negative: 1) I had to carry my heavy bag up and down 2 sets of stairs. There was no elevator. 2) The free breakfast consisted of stale bagels and stale donuts. 3)The housekeepers did not visit my room when I was gone during the day. 4) Neither the ice nor the vending machines worked. 5) There was no convenient place to plug in my laptop and work (although the free wireless internet worked fine).

Nothing was good about my stay. It was like a crack din. Please do not charge anybody else the money that u charge me to stay in garbage. I had to fight with them for towels for me, my son and husband.

Our experience was awful..We arrived on a red eye flight and had been flying all night..We asked the hotel manager if it was possible to have an early check in..He was rude and non-accomodating. When we returned at 3pm the room he gave us was disgusting. I had to call him in to show him urine splills all over the toilet seat, rim and bottom of toilet. The floor was sticking due to dried urine on the tile.. There were tons of human hairs in the shower pan. The bedspread had cigarette burns in many places and the room was supposed to be non-smoking. There was trash behind the night stands and I can go on and on....Since we had already paid through online package they would not refund our money. Orbitz was not helpful at all. I was very upset to have to risk our health to save money...Please be aware that you "Orbitz" should not represent this hotel in your packages. In addition this hotel was in a very bad neighborhood which was very unsafe.

Price. Quality was exceeding poor and mgmt did not fix it. Only stay here if the rest of the city is on fire.

The hotel is an older hotel, but well maintained. I was familiar with the location and somewhat apprehensive because I had received a bad report from years ago. However, the staff was courteous and my room was cleaned well. The experience was very good.

Near the main streets. Uncleanness, odor and my non-smoking room was next door to smoking rooms, my hotel room smelled like cigarette and I had hard time breathing. This is and was my last time staying at Howard Johnson. I regret saving a couple of dollars it was not worth it. This hotel needs a makeover and better cleaning staff. The odor needs to be eliminated. The non smoking rooms needs to be in a different wing from the smoking rooms.

For the price, it was more than adequate. Staff was friendly. Room seemed to be clean. Furniture/fixtures were a little old, rusting. Would stay here again.

Nothing. Had an odor, was not clean, drapery fell down. There was an odor. The toilet had pubic hairs on it and dried urine. Called to have it cleaned. When we returned to our room we found the drapes fell down. The TV and air conditioning unit were very dirty. After the drapes fell down they did move us to a different room which didn't smell, although the toilet paper dispenser was very dirty. Would never stay there again.

The Pikesville HoJo offered value and convenience with some amenities. The neighborhood is somewhat gritty but not frighteningly so. We enjoyed the generous included breakfast. Rooms were decent sized and clean enough, but obviously well-worn. Bathrooms definitely were older (blue tile and fixtures) but everything worked. The hotel staff was helpful when we needed to change rooms. The hotel was quiet altho it seemed to draw late local traffic. My biggest complaint, and warning to future guests, is that the non-smoking rooms have been smoked in and still have a strong smoke smell. If you are elderly, have asthma, or allergies, you will need to check a few rooms before finding one fresh enough to breathe in even with the efficient air-conditioning. People who must have smoke-free environments might want to go higher-end. We only stayed one night and with the a/c on the air was tolerable.

The Hotel was not hard to find. I felt safe going outside late at night and I could do my early morning walk close by. The employers were all of one culture and did not seem to understand the English language so whenever you ask a question they just steer at you. They need to try to clean the room before 3 or four o'clock in the afternoon and also on the check out time of 11 a.m. they came in and started cleaning my room at 10 am while I was trying to pack up my things. They should have cleaned it at that time the day before.

The first room we were given upon checkin was dirty. The room appeared not to have been cleaned. The chairs were stained one with a very bad iron stain. The second room was better, but that is not a cpmpliment. There was no refrigerator or mocrowave in the room, that was extra. The cleaning of the room was shaky at best. My wife actually went out and bought cleaning supplies for the room. That is not her usual way. Overall I would not stay in or recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was convenient and close to the ball game. Check review. It is really hard to describe the actual performance because of the renovations that were being made. It was close to town and to the ball game and we did not get lost. The people were friendly and gave us a choice as to be we wanted to sleep. It was dirty but most renovations make a place look dirty.
