This is the first time in my whole travel experience (and I have traveled extensively) that I am completely shocked at the hotel. The walls of the bathrooms were cracked. The bathroom tub was dirty - it has yellow and brown spots on it .. The ceiling of the bathroom was spotted with who-knows-what .. even the toilet paper holder was missing ! The room's door lock (security bolt) did not lock. The light bulbs were fused. The complimentary breakfast in the morning definitely had orange juice that had expired. It had a sort of floating content on top. I am completely dis-satisfied and I want the owners and you to know about it. Please refund my stay. This was a terrible recommendation from your site. Absolutely horrible. And in case you are wondering why we did not ask for a change of rooms, we actually did. Moved from one room to another on request. Absolutely horrendous - no change ! Just the same filth .. absolutely terrible .. Even the soap was the cheapest product available .. the moment I took off the wrapper paper, the whole thing cracked up into 3 or 4 pieces ..

I used online travel website to pre-pay the room, when arrived, I handed the card i used, when the clerk charged me again for the room! I reserved a King size bed, he gave me 2 doubles. When finally disputed double charge, the clerk would not give me a copy of the refund. When I entered my reserved King size room, the room had a terrible smell, some of the toiletries had been used, no hand towel, one towel and washcloth. It seem as another washcloth had been used. If you want a cheap quick stay then reserve, other than that I'd advise not to.

We had 4 inches of mildew up the shower curtain and cigarette burns on the tub. Cigarette ashes were behind the bathroom door, and this was suppose to be a non smoking room. The chair looked like it came out of the dumpster and the furniture matched. The grill to the heat and air conditioner unit was missing. The entrance to the hotel had paint peeling off the doors, and they didn't even shut properly. Never again!

The room that was given to us was very dirty! The bathroom tub was worse than the dirtiest gas station restroom! When we went to the front desk to complain, the staff gave us another room which wasn't much better. We left the next morning at 11:15 only to return about 11:23 because I left my cell phone charger. Room service had so called "cleaned" the room and already had it ready for the next occupant. There was no way that the bedding was changed and the room cleaned in that short amount of time. Stay here if you want a bargain but a couple bucks more can get you nicer accomodations elsewhere!

I did not like the uncleanliness of the hotel. It made me feel uncomfortable staying there, especially when my room was dirty.

The price was reasonable. But there was only one roll of toilet paper, no back-up, and the rod for it was missing. When it got wet, there was nothing to replace it. There were no tissues in the tissue box. Four of us were registered to the room, but there were only two bath towels - not enough. I appreciated the wi-fi, but there were not enough convenient plug-ins. There was no closed captioning on the television for the deaf.

the room was nasty, they did not clean the room at all for the days we were there we ran out of toilet paper the told us they didn't have anymore. the room had lamps falling of the wall and because i had paid for the week and my money was not refundable was the only reason i stayed. there were burn marks in the carpet thee carpet was dirty with huge spots. overall it was disgusting and i will never stay there again

The Howard Johnson in Lansing was a very simple and cheap hotel. There was a pool and complementary breakfast,but the entrances included going outside and around the building to get to so I didn't indulge in those amenities (it was too cold outside). I had a little difficulty checking in because I had to go through three different rooms before the room was suitable. The first was flooded with water, the second didn't have the refrigerator and microwave that I requested and third was where I stayed, but there was a wall jack loose from the wall and no batteries in the remote control for the tv. After the confusion things were ok until the next day. My key card didn't work, I had to reset it everyday. I was just visiting friends and for the money a room with a shower, refrigerator, microwave and bed was fine. It is close to a shopping mall and resturants so why not. I am planning to move to the city and will be making frequent trips to Lansing, so I will probably stay there again cause it was cheap.

Nothing! The place was a total dump. Dirty. Under construction. Dirty. No remote, clock, phone book or screens. Worst I've ever stayed in.

Hotel was dirty, non-smoking room stunk, smoke detector was missing, ended up cancelling our stay the minute we saw the room.

This hotel was in a great location but the hotel itself was not family friendly. I had to change rooms three time, the first room the heater didn't work, the second non smoking room smelled like smoke,the comforter had holes in it, hair on the sheets,cloth rack broken,no iron and the tub was dirty. The third room was what i had to settle for the lamp shades were broken, no light bulbs, no towles, the door was hard to open and close, hair everywhere. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone but you get what u pay for.

They changed our room to a better one the next night. The initial room had fungus on ceiling, wet carpet, smelled. I won't return to the hotel again.

Dirty towels were in the room. Check-in process was difficult. They said they didn't have my online travel website pre-paid reservation. Said that online travel website doesn't guarantee a room. Wanted to run my credit card through again - which would have resulted in a double billing. Said no room was available. This all took quite a while to straighten out.

The Howard Johnson Lansing is just fine if you've been driving through the night and need a place to lay your head. It's not the most well kept place as the siding on the outside is peeling off, the ice machine on my floor(the 3rd) was not working, the toilet paper holder was not in place so you're left to place the roll of paper on the floor. The smoke detector was not in position where it belongs on the wall, instead, it was sitting on top of the entertainment center. The staff at the desk seemed friendly. The location was very convenient to the highway and close to restaurants. I wouldn't mind staying there again, I just wouldn't expect much.

I booked six rooms for my husband and several friends To my embarassment the place was filthy dirty and in a very bad neighborhood. We soon realized it was a place for low income people to live and loiter. The only good thing was the pool, it was fairly nice. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!!!!!

Location, elevator, proximity of parking to entrance. Their rates doubled for the weekend. For no nonsense, economy travel, this was an excellent value.

Howard Johnson Lansing, IL will not be a hotel that I will visit again. The staff was not friendly,I used a do not disturb sign and someone went in the room anyway. The pool area was closed. The only good thing about this hotel was that it was near the expressway.
