My husband and I stay at this hotel for a week at a time, 6 times a year, and will not stay anywhere else. The staff is friendly and made us feel welcome. The beds are absolutely the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in at a hotel. We will always keep coming back to Howard Johnson on Evangeline because of the staff, clean and safe parking lot, and overall it is a CLEAN Comfortable hotel. The landscaping is beautiful also.

Very basic room. Website looked more alluring than in person. Room dressings didnt seem "new" as stated on website. Met all basic expectations.

Clean. Breakfast barnot much. Supposed to have fruit, none available. Newer motel, clean, well decorated room.

Paid the extra three bucks for a suite and it was avery nice room, Pillow top bed, granite shower stall. Looked new, clean and quiet. Breakfast not so good, but there's a Shoneys across the steet.

I have to say that there are very very few hotels who have a nice staff and this is one of them. The rooms were nice and looked like a well kept-property and would definentaly recommend this hotels to anyone anytime. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I arrived at almost midnight, exhausted from driving. We had reserved a non-smoking room. We opened our door to the strong odor of tobacco. We asked to change rooms and were given another non-smoking room. Unfortunately it reeked, as well. Too tired to continue the game of musical rooms, we opted to stay. Before settling into bed, we spent about twenty minutes rearranging the furniture in order to get something in front of the door... an effort on our part to beef up security. The area left a lot to be desired from a safety standpoint. The hotel was in a drab, poorly-lit, semi-isolated neighborhood of rundown houses right along an interstate. The door to our room had only one lock. There was no little back-up gadget to secure it from the inside. Other issues: the bathroom was tiny... barely enough room to open the door into it. The air conditioning did not work; we sweltered all night. The carpet had a wet area of an undetermined origin. In a main walking area there was a hole in the floor about the size of a grapefruit which had been covered by carpet; one's foot sunk into it with each passing. The final insult was that in the middle of the night, twice the fire alarms went off and emergency lights came on. Everyone went outside on the balcony. Staff couldn't figure out what the problem was. Generally speaking, staff were indifferent to guests; not openly rude, but accomplished only the bare minimum with no regard to the simplest of courtesies. I'll pay more next time to stay somewhere nicer.

staff was absolutely rude! invaded privacy and comfort. admited to spying on us because we smoked outside of hotel room. there was not a one "no smoking" sign OUTSIDE and they accused us of smoking INSIDE. the whole family who owned the hotel was very rude to us and nosy. it might have been because we were younger and they were afraid of us being loud and we were not! felt picked on and bullied. WARNING!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! i am looking into a law suit with these people. i am a respected 20 year old woman and have never had problems anywhere else in my life.i was polite and resepectful the whole time and their YOUNG sons who worked there tried to pick fights with me. i have never been so mistreated in my life!

the rooms were clean,new and comfortable. cleaning staff did a great job and were very friendly and helpful unlike check-in staff. located right on the interstate junctions. the check-in staff could use some lessons in southern hospitality. you would expect in such a small town they would be a more friendly. i've had warmer receptions in large cities. although the rooms were very clean and comfortable i would not stay here again. did not feel welcome!

The front desk staff was professional and the room was very clean. There are no handels in the bathtub to hold on to so you dont fall. The hotel was easy to find. The front desk employees were professional. The room was beautiful and very clean as far as the eye could see. The mattress was very comfortable, firm. The pillow was a bit skimpy for my personal comfort. (I always travel with my own) The refrigerator and microwave oven in the room is a great convenience. There was no handles in the bathroom tub, nothing to hold on to getting in and out of the shower. I would stay there again but, I hope they will install handles in the shower.

Fairly new hotel, convienent to I-10. Small breakfast area and pool. Nice room with a new king sized bed. Was a remodel though, as they had not covered over the old area where a bathroom sink use to be, there was still the old pipes coming out from the wall in the corner of the room. It was out of the way though, so not a big deal. It was very clean though, and had a great bathroom, big shower and nice new ceramic tile. We would stay there again.

am a resident of Lafayette, LA. I had family come into town to stay overnight after an outpatient surgery. Not only did the staff greet my family but went out of the way to make the accommodations fit the need. I travel a lot for business and stay at various hotels such as Best Western, Holiday Inn, Fairfield Inn and Quality Inn. This establishment can hold its own against any of those mentioned above. For service, cleanliness, and location this is a business travelers dream. The facility is big enough to accommodate your needs yet small enough to where you feel comfortable like a bed & breakfast or an Inn. Howard Johnson Inn did an excellent job at staffing this Hotel. The manager and staff are very attentive to your needs. The facility is about a year old and the rooms are comfortable and fresh. I recommend this place to my family and business associates coming into Lafayette. The staff is very professional but has that wonderful Cajun Hospitality. The Hotel is right off of I-10 , I-49 . There is no shortage of great restaurants in Lafayette. The hotel is located approximately 5 min from Lafayette Regional Airport. The only thing I don't know is whether or not they have a shuttle for the airport.
