Hotel was very nice and in a great location for the price...just off the 80 fwy. The room was big and spacious with an awesome bed, it was really comfortable. Hardwood floors were ok..but we like carpet better to walk around on. We pretty much just just slept in the hotel and did not spend to much time on the property, but it was very nice overall.

The front desk guy was fairly cordial and there was a pool.. The fitness center was not on the premises, but next door in at a separate facility and closed. I don't know if they were still renovating my room, but there were electric socket faceplate's missing the bathroom smelled kind of musty and that's because of the shower curtain. From what I saw the only room that was nice as was the lobby.

our room was unfinished, blinds that didn't close all the way with no curtains to cover, microwave falling apart, hairdryer didn't work, chinsey sheets, hard pillows, baseboard fallin off next to closet, need I go on....... and then they charged me $20 extra per night for my little 5 lb dog. ( toy pomeranian) that we even brought a cage for so she wouldn't chance messing anything up. I will never stay there again.

When we booked this hotel, there was supposed to be a bar & grill and nice rooms. The Bar & Grill was under renovation, lamp shade broken, no screen on window, outside doors in hallway did not lock, lights in hallway flickered. Not what was expected for the price.

This was a great hotel! The floors were hardwood so it was a little odd having the echo whenever you talked in the room but it was very pleasant and is a perfect getaway hotel.

Location, convenient to freeway and downtown Davis. Remodeling still in progress; not too clean.

breakfast/bagels had molds/ receptionist was not approachable/had to keep asking questions to tourists spots/ customer computer printer not working/ poor lighting in room/ in room fridge not working/ shower leaked downstairs/ maintenance had to come up and asked us when we were checking out/ leak was found first floor. food should not be served with molds in it, it is concern for the health deparment to be notified.

The overall impression this hotel gives is that it should be torn down. The room was subpar, the desk chair was broken, on the second day there was trash left from the night before after it was cleaned, the coffee pot was not washed, the front sliding entry door to the lobby did not work part of the time, the pool was a joke, the building next door was boarded up and the general grounds needed maintenance. The only positive thing was that the front desk lady was pleasant. The general quality of this hotel is far below the normal standards for Davis and shouldn't be offered.

The hardwood floors and great bed. Heater/AC kept us up all night. Good value for the price. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Nice staff. However, no apologies were made for the clicking in the ac/heater which kept us up all night, which was disappointing.

We were traveling around looking at several college campuses, and stayed in several hotels. By far, the Howard Johnson Davis was the best of them. It was inexpensive, but the room was nice and a good size, the pool was bigger than at other hotels, there was a little putting green and a free business center. Also, the hotel provided a free continental breakfast, plus free coffee all day. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. If we ever return to Davis, and I think we will, since their UC Davis campus was the best we saw, we will stay at this Howard Johnson again.

This Howard Johnson is not that well-located from UC Davis. The place was kind of dark. The room itself is big even though the look of it is not attractive enough. The shower room was satisfying but there is no shower tub. and the water knob was difficult to manipulate. The mattress was not very good; the spring was already worn-off. But overall this was average hotel room.

Friendly staff. At first they refused our request for late check-out, despite the fact we arrived at 2AM; they placed us next to family of 5 with newborn. Good location and improvements are underway; rooms are not soundproof; otherwise, a short yet pleasant experience.

It's close to the Sacramento Airport and near UC Davis. The hotel is reasonably priced with clean, spacious rooms and VERY QUIET. There's a fitness center with a big pool and the friendly and helpful staff made my stay most pleasant. Staff offered to do Internet research to answer a question about the area. From now on, I'll stay here every time I'm in town.

There were no baseboards in the bathroom, so it made it look bad. This was just a one-nighter, so it was okay, but for longer stays, I would probably opt for somewhere else.

Construction was stopped during our stay. May be noisy when they are working on addition. It was clean and comfortable, breakfast was adequate and good. It was better than we expected.

The room was generally nice. Fridge and microwave included. Pool's nice and generally nice area. Bathtub drained slowly after a shower and bathtub had some rust stains. The fridge racks were rusty and the place had a very faint stale (smokey) smell... I'm ok with it, but my wife was a little more picky. WiFi is a good feature."

Nice size rooms. Towels and sheets were rough to the touch and need to be replaced long ago. Overall good value and location.

Friendly staff. Very old hotel. Needs to be refurbished. Bathroom caulking and bathroom door need to replaced. Very old hotel. Grounds not well maintained. Hotel rooms need to be completely refurbished. Bathroom caulking and bathroom door need to replaced. Would not go back to this hotel until completely refurbished.
