I attended a conference at the Salt Palace 4 blocks away. A TRAX train took 3 blocks off the daily walks. The breakfast room was pleasant, my room was clean, the staff was friendly and responsive. Disappointed that the outdoor pool was under reconstruction. Why now? June!!!! Should have done in April.

The staff was very helpful with directions. Was a nice enough place to stay, quiet but yet easy to get back to the interstate.

While not a luxury hotel, it is clean, relatively quiet, and has friently helpful staff. The free breakfast is adequate. There is a computer with printer in the lobby so that boarding passes can be printed out before heading to the airport, which is only about 15-20 minutes away. Hotel is a short walk to the convention center.

Perhaps the most significant detail of the stay is that I cannot recall any reason to complain. When everything works, the staff are helpful, and most needs met, it is not the hotel one remembers, but the other events of the trip. I would stay here again.

Have stayed twice now while attending MC events at Miller Motorsports Park. The HoJo is a low-cost, clean, simple place, with a breakfast, ideally located close to downtown restaurants after a day at the track. Granted, it's 30 minutes from the track, but if you stay out there, there's not much of anything to do. Better to drive out and back for the day, and then be within walking distance for evening activities. It's basic, but gets the job done, and for a good price point.

The coffee maker worked. The hotel was in poor repair, theWiFi connection would work and the staff was not friendly. I would not stay here again. Came back to the hotel after a day of meetings and had to park two blocks away because they had allowed people attending the Jazz game to park in the hotel lot.

Based on other reviews I had read, I was prepared for the worst, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Howard Johnson provided friendly service with comfortable rooms. It is by no means a five star place, but you get what you pay for. It's not fancy, but functional and provided 3 good nights of rest. The bathroom was a little small and had no place to hang towels, but other than that it was clean and had a decent breakfast each morning (which I enjoyed). I would recommend this to others if they're looking for something simple, reasonablly priced, with good service.

Went on my annual vacation & also, to attend the National Golden Gloves Tournament. I enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly & professional as well as courteous. Any questions I had, They assisted. I have no complaints.

It was close to downtown Salt Lake and affordable. For the money this was a good hotel and convenent to Temple Square and other tourist sites in Salt Lake City.

We were disappointed in the hotel and ended up not staying after taking a look at the hotel. The pool was not open for the season. It is right downtown with pool next to parking lot/street. The security door was not secure. The room had an unpleasant odor. Thus we did not stay.

Used this hotel for an overnight stay. Very courteous and helpful shuttle driver/hotel staff. Room very well equipped and v. clean and price included breakfast - really amazing value for money; would definitely stay there again.

Newer carpet pillows were very good. The bathroom door was broken so it wouldn't close. Our room was by the boiler and the supply room.

I recently stayed here and I was very happy with my choice. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful especially Jeff and Ron. They provide a free shuttle to and from the airport which is a plus. Also, the hotel is just one block from the Trax (train system), the Delta center, and the Gateway Mall. The room was clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again. For the price, I think it is a really good value.

Close to downtown. Rooms smelled moldy. Clean rooms, good location but rooms smelled old or moldy was my only complaint.

Stayed for a quick ski trip, if you want to be downtown location is good, close to Gateway and the Arena. Relatively clean, but nothing was exceptional. Could use an updating, but if you are looking for value, this is not a bad option. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. Pool closed in winter, no hot tub. Some good food nearby, strongly recommend trying the Red Iguana.

Simply put, the hotel was completely satisfactory. The room was fine, comfortable, just what you'd expect. The location was not as pedestrian friendly as I was hoping, but a lot of downtown tourist sites are walking distance. Access to the interstate is easy.
