I wish I could be there when a hotel makes a contract for bathroom upgrades. Apparently finding a good tile installer and plumbers in Redding is a tough task. The little cotton balls, I mean bed pillows (2), flattened out to about a 1/2 inch. The bed under sheets/blanket was stained with bleach (at least it was cleaned at some point). Considering that this room was $40, I'd say, you get what you pay for. This hotel needs a complete tear down to the studs, and new insulation/sheetrock/bath completed. I would stay again, just bring some pillows.

Noisy. Thin walls with people making noise outside. Clean rooms with normal service. Worth the money.

The room was clean, but the beds were hard and the towels were threadbare. The staff was friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was good. I would not recommend this to any who plan on staying more than just one night on a trip. For a spot to sleep off the road wearyness it was ok for the price.

The staff was very friendly and kind. The room had a broken light, electrical plate, bathroom door, air conditioner, window screen, etc. and it wa quite dirty. The breakfast was adequate. but, it was not expensive, In fact, I found it even cheaper booking directly through howardjohnsons.com.

Was conveniently located to everything our trip to Redding involved. Vehicles blocking entrance/exit for very extended periods of time. Was a nice stay, although rooms sould have extra pillows as well more towels in bathroom. The other is food should be allowed to be taken back to the room in the mornings. More convenient and comfortable to be able to do so.

our over all stay was fine. It was conveniently located from freeway

When we arrived, we were asked $20 more for an nonsmoking room although the room was prepaid on the internet. I refused to pay and they put us on a room just next to the highway (very noise) and smelled like there were 10 people just smoked there. The building is very old and dirty. I

Front desk employee was condesending and obnoxious. I will not book another room with this hotel.

My husband called to tell me this was a terrible hotel, and asked if I had booked it through Orbitz. (I had) He said he wanted to go to another hotel but that they would not refund the money. We paid a little less than 60.00 and there was a sign outside the hotel that advertised rooms for 39.00. We use Orbitz a lot for flights, but I will never book a hotel through them again.

The room was dingy and well used. The bedspread and blankets had mystery spots on them that looked like something that would have definately come out had they washed them. The heater took almost 10 minutes to start blowing warm air (it did eventually get hot) but was VERY loud. Sink water pressure was way too high - water kept getting all over everthing. I refused to sit in the chairs that were at the table because they were so stained and dirty. I was very happy we only stayed there 1 night.

I've got this hotel because it was cheap, but not the cheapest. 1st day of hotel stay gave me a severe back pain due to uncomfortable mattress, smells of cigarette with old carpet. Most of all, I was very disappointed with Ants were all around the sink coming through electric outlet, I didn't change room when staff offered me because it would be same any rooms if you have ants problem in one room, but staff told me they never had ants problem before and gave me an ant killer spray.

Over-billed, smoke-filled room, stained carpet, stained bedspread, sloping bed, dirty footprints in bathroom, hard-to-control sink, loud a/c, no iron/iron-board, breakfast was horrible (almost non-exsistant), service - I was referred to as a liar by staff.

The Howard Johnson was very lax with their housekeeping staff. Twice went to front desk to get towels or washclothes or both. Sink, tub and toilet were not cleaned every day. However the bed was made, not clean sheets but that was OK. The staff who checked us in and out were exceptionally nice and accomodating! They were re-surfacing their parking lot but were very considerate re: parking needs. The location was very good for us--on block from the interstate.

Was tipical for area of motel. It was older and had its years of use. Very small pool. Room was also tipical for the years of use. It fits into a $50.00 a night motel. You can hear people moving around on the upper room. I believe this was normal walking too. Would not use this motel in future trips through Redding.

"WiFi internet was non-existent from our room, despite a call to the support group. Bathroom door didn't lock, bed mattress was deformed, tub non-slip surface was dirty. Everything looked dated and used."

The room was clean and it was a very quiet stay and was even able to sleep in. Never made it for the breakfast.

"Don't make your reservation with Howard Johnson at Redding CA. The room was very dirty and stinky, and the solution they provided was to spray ""air freshener"" in the room. The room was not made for my second night stay. The bathroom, floor, bed sheet were all very dirty."

This was great for a quick in and out. They were very accomidating. We arrived late and left early so did not have time to check out the amenities.

After having a very relaxing stay at Howard Johnson's in Leucadia, Ca. we looked in advance and decided to stay at another Howard Johnson's on our trip to Washington. This was a very disappointing experience. The room was very old and rundown. The a/c unit was old and noisy. The carpet was worn and the bed was hard. I'll have to reconsider my next stay at Howard Johnson's if this is what they allow.
