this hotel is helpful and seems to care about their guests. they try to provide all the help one could need. our room was up graded and when we mentioned it was our ann, they even gave us a bottle of sparkling cider. we were pleased with the room and the fact that it was really clean. our bed was made for the second day. this is not always done.

Room had no hot water for showers both days we stayed, romm was never cleaned while we were there, did give 30% off room. Pool is located about 20 feet off main hiway very noisy. choose other hotels!

Although this was an okay place to stay, we kept eyeing the Quality Inn next door, which had been a similar price, and wishing we'd stayed there instead. Although I had read that the Howard Johnson had a heated pool, I didn't realize it was seasonal--if you aren't traveling in the summer, you won't be able to use it. In contrast, the Quality Inn has an indoor pool. Also, although our room was clean, it was very dark inside, even with all of the lights turned on. Since all of the rooms face the same side, I'm assuming this is a problem for every room. There is very little natural light, and no overhead ceiling lights, just lamps, so it was not pleasant in the room. Breakfast was fairly good for a complimentary meal.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Large comfortable room with comfy bed and gas fireplace. Nice warm pool for the kids. Close to all Leavenworth attractions.
