This was the worst experience I ever have had of staying at a motel. It took the front desk personal half an hour to check us in, they did not know what they were doing. The rooms were fitly, the tub was full of dirt and sand. Then at 2am some drunk tried to break down our door on two separate times. Things were broke in the room the lampshade, the locks on the doors. It really needs to be torn down or major updates to the place are needed. Its a disgrace to Howard Johnson

Hotel room was much better than the previous one. Hotel undergoing renovations to the elevators. Carpeting in the hallways in much need of replacement. Hotel missed my 4am wakeup call. Fortunately we was already awake! In general, hotel is not in good condition.

Many problems with recent stay. Blood stains on the wall, showerheads and sink knobs missing, garbage/beer bottles in the stairways. Moldy/missing ceiling tile, run down pool area that smelled unsanitary. Do not stay.

The room was so gross that I didn't want to touch anything! The wallpaper and paint were peeling. The bathroom had broken tiles and mildew stains everywhere. This non smoking room had an ashtray in the room. The people at the front desk never smiled and were less than friendly. They were in street clothing with no name tags so it was difficult to even recognize them as employees. The last thing I would like to mention is that the motel is located next to a strip joint! I'm very surprised and disappointed at this Howard Johnsons.

This hotel probably should have been shut down during rehab. Getting in and out of the room was a challenge. Somewhere there should be a warning that a guest is staying in a property that is be rehabilitated.

Stay away from this disgusting hotel. This hotel was booked for me and I was thoroughly disgusted with this place from check-in to check-out. The front doors are hard to open and don't close by themselves, lobby is dirty and outdated. Upon arrival to our floor it stunk of cigarette smoke and you could hear lots of noise from people in their rooms. The room was filthy, there was garbage on the floors, smudges on the mirror, the window was filthy, the floors were stained, the blankets had burn marks in them, the phone was dirty, the view out the window (see above, was filthy) was of a truck yard and the parking lot (which had garbage all over). I don't think this hotel was located in a rough part of the city, but you sure feel like it is when you are standing outside. I believe the hotel has a restaurant but I refused to eat there given the state of the rest of the place. Save yourself the hassle, do not stay here, absolutely disgusting place.

I thought this would be safe because it was a Ho Jo...NOT. The first room we were given didn't have any A/C...and the knobs were all broken off. We got another room, but like the first one it hadn't been cleaned...those Clorox wipes came in handy! The entire hotel was dirty, smelly and nothing seemed to work. All the ice makers were broken, the pool area was beyond filthy. The staff was nice and actually helpful...but that was not worth it.

Biggest benefit: large pool Biggest drawback: shabby general conditions

Do not under ANYcircumstances every stay at this hotel. I have reported it to government officials and to Howard Johnson. Howard Johnson doesn't care. Other western Canadian HoJos are, I understand from friends equally awful...electrical not working, fight in lobby, uncaring staff, stinky, dirty floors, sheets (used), towels, smoke burns, smoke alarm not working, filthy pool, elevator unsafe and filthy - never cleaned or dusted - I have pictures..need I say more? HoJO and Winnipeg should be embarrassed and close it down!

Everything about the Howard Johnson was horrible! The workers were disrespectful, the room was discusting and the appliances didn't work(including over half of the lighting) NEVER say at the HO JO believe me and if you do dont flush the toilet it will explode and it will BE YOUR FAULT! Also don't eat the breakfast if you still want to have your teeth!

I cannot believe that this hotel carries the Howard Johnson name. The hotel was filthy and the lobby was frequented by large groups of drunks. DO NOT stay here if you have a family. I attempted to obtain a refund after seeing the condition of the room but was told that since I booked online a refund was not possible.
