WITHOUT A DOUBT THE WORST RESORT I EVER STAYED IN.I TRAVEL A GREAT DEAL,AND NEVER BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF LIKE THIS PLACE.RUDE RECEPTION,DISGUSTING FOOD,TINY POOL AREA. MAKE SURE YOU BRING PLENTY OF MEXICAN CURRENCY.ON THIS TRIP I STAYED AT THREE DIFFERENT RESORTS.THEIR EXCHANGE RATE WAS 3 PESOS LESS THAN THE OTHERS.IF YOU WANT A SAFE KEY YOU MUST GIVE THEM A $50.00 DEPOSIT WHEN YOU CHECK OUT THEY WILL ONLY GIVE YOU PESOS IN RETURN,AT THEIR LOW EXCHANGE RATE.THEY GIVE YOU 2 SMALL BOTTLES OF DRINKING WATER WHEN YOU CHECK IN AND YOU MUST BRING THE BOTTLES TO A BAR FOR REFILS.I WOULD SLEEP ON THE BEACH RATHER TAN STAY AT THIS DIVE. THIS PLACE WOULD TURN ANY DISCERNING TRAVELER AGAINST CANCUN.

First night we were disappointed with our room; it smelled musty and didn't have an ocean view. The next day, we spoke to [...] and he was able to move us into the room we expected.....es muy bueno. [...] really was the best!! We needed help twice (check in & check out) and both times he went the extra mile to help us. Our Jamaica trip last year was hosted by staff members who didn't seem to care about anything other than partying. I should also note that the lobby of each tower had purified water dispensers which made refilling our portable bottles very easy.The activity coordinators were fantastic and we had fun participating in both water & beach volleyball, musical trivia, archery, and even bingo. They had an amazing way of involving everyone and making them smile.I was disappointed the hotel didn't offer more Mexican food to eat or any Dr Pepper to drink!!! The buffet had a nightly theme but of the 7 days we stayed, only one was Mexican. The other onsite restaurants were Italian and Mediteranean but they're open on select days so plan carefully.Location was great for us. The hotel is on the beach, semi-private, and away from the clubs. You'll have to ride a bus or cab if you want to shop or party somewhere. Buses are right out front and seem to run every couple minutes so we rode them everytime we went out for anything.

Everyone at the hotel was excellent, very friendly. Helpful and the food were great. There was nothing I did not like about this hotel. This hotel was great my kids also loved it. The thing I liked about this hotel is the location, it's located at the far end of the hotel zone and it is very quiet. You can take the bus into town if you like it is not that far. The pool staff is wonderful, funny and very entertaining. The pictures you see are exactly what you get, the rooms the views everything. I would stay at this hotel again on my future visits to Cancun. This hotel is no 5star but for the price you can't beat it. The food was great. They had entertainment in the lobby every night, and offered free transportation to a different club every night. I have been to many hotels but this one was by far the best.

i booked this hotel because the price was right and the reviews were good. a few months later, a few days before we were leaving for our vacation, i read the reviews and they were not very good. i was worried that our vacation would be ruined, i was expecting a dump. i was pleasantly surprised!! i found the hotel to be clean, the staff very helpful and kind, with a good sense of humor! the rooms were basic but clean. the air conditioning worked but could have been a little cooler.the food was ok. my teenage kids loved the daily pool volleyball and beach volleyball games. the beach was great!! i recommend the eco tour excursion that had the repelling, zip-line, kayaking, swimming in the cave and a visit to the coba ruins....it was awesome! the speedboat and snorkling excursion was not very good. using the bus system to go down the strip was easy, safe and very cheap (7.50 pecos each, which is like .50 cents) but i recommend giving the bus driver exact pecos. every time i used a larger bill, he would keep an extra 10-20 pecos. after the second day, i wised up and let him know what he still owed me and he would hand it over. overall, a good time!

The greatest strength of the Beach Paradise was its staff; all were very friendly & helpful. The food and drinks were OK, but not great. The location is at the far south end of the Hotel Zone; nothing of interest is close.The biggest weakness was the room. It was very sparsely furnished with cheap, old furniture. It was in dire need of an update. This is the only hotel that I can recall staying at that has hollow-core doors; we could hear every sound from the hallway and from the nearby rooms.Although Beach Paradise is economically priced, I think that several other hotels in Cancun are better overall values. My wife and I do not plan to stay here again.

The hotel was a nice place to stay however the maid staff stole a safe key out of a coin purse that was in a purse that was in a suitcase, then took $500 USD out of the safe thank god they left our passports, then all the head of security could do was give us back our safety box deposit which was 50 dollars i think then said he would email me, never did but he did say he found out which maid it was then basically called me a liar and i was dumb for keeping my key inside the room, HOW ABOUT SHE SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH MY THINGS!!!!!!oh and i had put the do not disturb sign up and she cleaned it anyway!!!!! BLACKLIST THIS HOTEL! i was telling other trvelers about this and 6 people said the same thing happened to them

Nothing. Check in staff was unaccommodating. Pool closed at 5:00. I would never recommend this hotel. I had my two older children along and had to pay $66 each for them to eat and drink. After paying for a junior suite, we were given a 2 bed room on the first floor overlooking the driveway. (After first being given a tiny one bed room and asking for another) We were told no suites were available, but were given no compensation for the lack thereof. It had a leaky dehumidifier. The pool closed at 5:00 along with any outside activities. To play pool you had to pay. Of the three restaurants available, one was not included in the all-inclusive, another was closed, so everyone had to use the buffet. The hotel itself is not close to anything. Close to the airport? The only redeeming thing was the bartender in the sports bar. Choose another hotel.

Wonderful place to stay for the money. Clean and comfortable; great food; accessible to public transportation; on site travel/tour booking agent. Staff was very accomodating, no one ever stood around, always working/cleaning or making sure the customer is smiling. Only thing I personally would avoid, it the "suggested" tour at a partner hotel. This does turn into a time share sell, about 3 hrs long. But on the other hand, we did get to see another hotel and their ammenities, as well as discounts on the tours we were planning on doing anyway. Would stay again!

The rooms are terrible, the food mediocre, and the staff is only somewhat helpful. My sliding door to the balcony whistles in the wind all night because there is no weather stripping. If you open the slider to stop the whistling, the door rattles (apparently there are no rooms they can move me to). The pipe fittings to the toilet leak so I have to put a towel down behind the toilet to absorb the water. The air conditioner kind of works, but never really removes the humidity nor cools the room to something comfortable. The cleaning service doesn't clean. Used plastic glasses are not removed and spoons that were dropped on the floor (and left so the staff knows they are dirty) are placed back on the counter after maid service. If you awake at 6am there is no coffee available ANYWHERE. No coffee maker in your room and the restaurant doesn't open until 7am. BUT, you can get snacks from Midnight to 3:30am at the bar. Only one computer with internet service in the entire hotel and they charge you to use it. This is an all inclusive hotel, so the drinks are watered down and the food is buffet style. If you don't show up for food right when the restaurants open, the food sits in steamers and just wastes away until you arrive. The beach is almost un-swimable and the man in charge of entertainment for the day doesn't seem to realize how microphones work because he yells every word into it. And don't even get me started on the all day construction in neighboring rooms. BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID. RUN! RUN!! RUN!!!

The service was absolutely great. Can't say that enough. The only problem I had with the hotel is that the room AC did not work that well. It did not cool so the room was warm and sticky. The food was ok eveything taste the same but it is good if your not a picky eater. Overall I loved the hotel except for the AC problem.

The people who wrote bad things about the hotel probably forgot to take their happy pills or something. It was great !!! The staff was great, so friendly. it is the most beautiful beach in the neighborhood ! The food was great and the place where you need a reservation - well better service and smaller portions thats all . Also, the bar serves the best alcohol - strong ! if you are looking for something simple, not complicated, nice people, nice weather, good food, good drinks - chose this hotel. Right price and you can make it as fun as you want. It was great for us !

My wife and i had a great time. For a three star resort the food was better than average. The staff was very friendly and helpful we didn't have to wait very long for anything. The room we had was very nice mostly new and very clean. Great place.

The good: I paid $1200 for 2 r/t tix and 5 nights at the Hoteteur -- great price, in my opinion. The food was very good and available, the wait staff was friendly and always available. The location was fine in my opinion. There are plenty of beach activities right in front of the hotel (wave runners, parasailing). Nice selection of Margaritas -- not very potent, but that can be either good or bad. The bad: The room smelled a bit musty and/or smokey, hopefully it wasn't mold. There are 2 pools -- 1 very clean, the other had a nasty green film around the perimiter. The fitness room is a joke -- 4 stationary bikes and 2 steppers, no air conditioning. There is no ATM on the grounds -- not a huge problem since the hotel is all-inclusive, but something to be aware of. Other comments: With a little work, this could be a much nicer hotel. It was pretty much what I expected. If I book another trip, I would consider staying there again, but I would probably spend a bit more for a nicer place. Watch out for the sharks selling Time Shares/Vacations Plans. The 1.5 hours turned into about 3, and we felt like we both just had root canals performed. They did honor their promise of giving us a couple of nice excursions for a great price, but I think I'd rather pay full price next time than sit through the interrogation.

This place is so misrepresented. Told it was a 4-star resort. Its a 2.5 at best. Small pool area and limited seating. Filthy bathrooms and front desk staff not willing to help you and they will actually tell you that.. Go somewhere else in Cancun -- trust us!

We had a great time. The hotel is a 10 minute drive from downtown Cancun. The hotel is nice/average (you get what you paid for), the views are great and the price was even better. Swim up bar was the best part. Drinks are good and the food was ok. Staff was friendly and accomodating.

if you're expecting for a 5 star hotel, don't stay here. we got what we paid for - clean room, nice beach, decent food (nothing special) and wonderful staff! will definitely stay here again.

The room was not complete when we arrived!!! There was no T.V. or alarm clock in the room; never fixed the problem, gave us a broken T.V. The bathroom leaked, we had to spend way too much time in the room waiting for things to be fixed. The only thing that was good was the service from (the pool bartender and waiter at the Medditeraneo)! The entertainment directors were good too. The only person who tried to be helpful was X at the front desk. The night crew was useless!!! Wouldn't go back and would definitely not recommend it!

The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The room had the most beautiful view I have ever seen from a hotel. My only problems with the hotel was the food. It was definately edible, and I bever went starving...but the slection and the taste left alot to be desired. The "nicer" restaraunts such as Little Italy and The Mediteranean weren't any better. My other complaint is my hotel room never really got cold. We brought a small fan from home, and it helped alot. While I would never say the room was warm, it just never really could get any cooler than say 73 or 74 degrees... which after a long day in the sun and 90 degree weather, you really would have liked it cooler. I heard alot of similar complaints from other guests. The staff was friendly and very outgoing, and the entertainment staff tried hard and does a great job with what they have to work with. All in all, I can't imagine finding a better deal for the money, but please don't go expecting a classy, first class resort. I would definately go back.

We just resently celebrated our 25 anniversary and we had a fabulous time. Our experience was great. We had never went to Cancun, so we did not know what to expect. The staff and resort was awesome. The only downfall was that the spa was not hot. To our surprise, we had a beautiful ocean view. The food was great and the restuarants were nicely decorated. The weather was perfect. Our excursions to Chichenitza, catamaran tour to Isla mujeres, and Xcaret were incredible and without complaints. We made all the reservations for our excursions at the resort. We can't wait for the next time we come. We heard from other people who stayed at the more expensive resorts and they said that they had bad experiences.
