Nice clean hotel with very large room. Felt as though we were staying in a place that should have been more expensive for what got. Very nice bathroom too.

My boyfriend and I have traveled around the world and have off the chart hotel experience and we were so impressed with Hotel Dupont. I've heard about it from a friend who is an antique collector and well traveled investments manager, who stayed there with her boyfriend for the weekend and rated the hotel as top in every way. She was not exaggerating. I loved the hotel, the room, the bed and the restaurant. I was so impressed with the quality of the food and ambiance. There are many wonderful cultural activities nearby int he Wilmington/Philly area, but if you want to spend a rainy weekend without having to go to far, this is also the hotel. It has a wonderful theater in the premise, in addition to the river walk 2 block away and the restaurant and bars area within walking distance. The only thing you may find not wonderful is the tv set, but most super hotels in Europe don't have them and we were not there to watch TV. In sum, it is a hidden gem. I give it a 10+

The Hotel Dupont is a lovely historic hotel that has all of the amenities you could wish for. The room was huge with a sitting area and a sleeping area. The TV was in a cabinet that swiveled so you could view it from the sitting area or the bed. The bed linens were lovely and there were spa robes and slippers. The bathroom was huge, which is not always the case in historic hotels. It had both a soaking tub AND a glass enclosed shower; as well as ample space around the sink. Right outside of the bathroom was a dressing table with a magnifying mirror for applying makeup. The common areas, lobby and restaurant, were breathtaking and beautifully restored. Staff was gracious and accommodating. It will always be our first choice when staying in Wilmington.

My boyfriend and I went to Philadelphia and Wilmington over the new years holidays. I was hesitant to book the Dupont hotel as the rate was quite low....$ dollars....i added an additional $ dollars per night to get a bigger room and then decided to include the breakfast so a grand total of $ per night....the room was huge, actually it was a suite and we were on the top floor. I have never stayed in such a large room....bed was comfortable and there was a nice generous tub and shower. We were able to park our car on the street so we did not have to pay for parking. Our breakfast was in the wonderful green room....probably the most glamorous room I have been in and I have traveled extensively. The sweet potato pancakes were to die for....we had them twice. I think our breakfast cost at least 50 dollars for two of us, but it was included in the room rate, so a fantastic deal. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays and there is a side room full of paintings by NC Wyeth and Andrew Wyeth which are incredible...you have to see them. All in all , the Dupont hotel was extraordinary and what a reasonable price....highly recommended and glad to see such splendor still exists in hotels in the US. Also , the staff were very very helpful and friendly.

The Hotel DuPont was gorgeous. It reminded us of other famous older, but renovated, hotels. The turndown feature was an added treat. The value for the money was excellent. We would have expected to pay much more for this class of hotel. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but that was wonderful, too.
