I've stayed here a few times. The hotel is in a great location near Union Square as well as Chinatown. The staff is courteous and efficient. The room was a little small, but it was clean and the price was right.

Very interesting and unique. Small room. A very quaint and delightful place.

triton is a kimpton hotel and is, like all the kimpton hotles, not bland and dull; this hotel has character and charm and the free wine int he evening's not bad either.

The alley south of this hotel has about 20 dumpsters and almost constant trash collection noise that kept us awake between 11:30 pm and 5:00 am with no less than three half-hour long truck pickups plus extra banging around and dumping of glass recycling. It's simply unbelieveable they even rent the rooms facing this alley. Completely unacceptable.

I picked this hotel becuase it was green and I also thought it looked very trendy and wanted to check it out. The room was very cut, but I got a whining dog ALL NIGHT LONG and a room facing the alley. Little did I know that at 3:30 a.m. the garbage collectors would come to empty the 11 plus dumpsters right below my window. After about 40 minutes or so of garbage truck...I was fully awake. Needless to say I did not sleep all night and was not very happy when I had to attend a business meeting bright and early the next morning. Make sure you don't stay in room 224.

Hotel Triton was a great boutique hotel right next to china town. The rooms were smaller, but if you are staying in your room the whole trip in SF, you are missing out. The rooms were very comfortable, and perfect for a couple. Would definitely stay there again.

Loved the decor and the bedding. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The hallways look old and tired. I realize this is an old building and the hallways reflect that age, but not in a good, charming way. Overall this hotel was great. The beds were completely comfortable and the bedding tied the room together. It was a great place in a great location. Hallways could be improved.

Triton is the most unique and fun hotel I've ever been in! The decor and furnishings are very unconventional and even though the rooms are not the biggest, we didn't feel cramped at all. The bed was super comfortable and the nice sized flat screen tv was a plesant suprise. Our windows faced the inner courtyard so the room was very quiet. We could only hear other guests slamming their doors. The staff was very friendly and offered us wine even though we missed the wine tasting in the lobby by an hour. The fresh baked cookies on the front desk were heavenly! The hotel is located in a very nice area where it's easy and safe to walk around day and night. After experiencing Triton, all the other hotels are going to feel plain and boring.

Room was barely large enough to walk around the bed, but it's San Francisco. The staff were exceptionally helpful every time they were asked. The location was perfect. The room was cleaned and readied better than most hotel rooms. Be sure to request a room on the Bush Street side of the hotel for a quiet stay.

The Hotel was very comfortable its a nice boutique Hotel with stylish rooms. The location was very good shopping and many reataurants are very close. But for all first San Francisco travellers you have to calculate if you are comming by car for parking garage 30 to 40 $. So if you like a trendy and fashion Hotel you gonna like. I will be back.

My wife and I stayed for an extended weekend at the Hotel Triton. Everything, from the room to the complementary goldfish in a bowl, was exactly as described. Not being surprised during travel is a big deal to me. The hotel staff was attentive and incredibly helpful, bending over backwards to help us not only do the touristy stuff we wanted to do, but were on spot in assisting us in finding great restaurants and activities that were off the beated path. They were even willing to accomodate my bizarre request to take pictures of the "Kathy Griffin" suite (which was unoccupied) to make one of my co-workers happy. The hotel is an older building, so the rooms might not be everyone's cup of tea, and they tend to the smaller side. But they were cozy and romantic and provided a perfect home base for the weekend.

As a native of San Francisco, I used to walk by this hotel practically every day and wondered if it was as nice inside as out. First of all, the hotel is situated in the best of locations, in my opinion. It is literally two blocks from Union Square, steps away from the entrance to Chinatown and within the hub of public transportation to take you to practically anywhere in the City. The lobby decor is very whimsical and exciting. Check-in was very quick. The rooms are clean and updated, the bathrooms are huge by hotel standards and room service was great. Thanks a lot Hotel Triton!

Me and my good friends took a getaway to San Francisco, our trip was based around shopping and going out! So this location totally met our standards!! It was right across from china town which was sweet, cause good sushi and cheap buys. Also it came in handy when I needed incense due to the horrible mildew smell in the room.. I know it is an old building and I usually dont complain about that stuff but it was bad.. Rooms were pretty small and not enough space for all our stuff, let alone the no counter space for our toliteries! But all round staff was awesome, excpet for one moody chick and the cafe next door was great! Once ur there too the pictures are'nt the same.. its kinda cheezy but cool/different!

We were very happy with our first of hopefully many stays at Hotel Triton. Hotels location was very central to us. On Chinatowns doorstep and a Short walk to Pier 39. Plently of eateries and shopping in the area. Hotel was very clean. Hotel has free wine tasting in the evening and coffee and tea in the morning in the lobby.

Fairly convenient to city attractions and quite clean. Small room, no coffee maker in room and some snippy staff. Over-priced.

I booked the Haagen Dasz suite for the Friday after Valentine's Day as a surprise gift for my boyfriend. Although I had confirmed well in advance, when I arrived, the front desk clerk told me that they had given the suite away. I was quite disappointed, to say the least, as, since I am a local, I had selected the room for its novelty - otherwise, I could sleep at home in my SF apartment. They tried to convince me that the Kathy Griffin suite was an equally romantic substitute, but that was a hard sell! After an hour of gentle insistence, they finally installed me in the room I had initially reserved - just in time to get ready for the evening. The gimmick of the room, all you can eat ice cream, was delightful, but I thought it was pretty overpriced, totaling over 470 after taxes. I joined fellow guests in the lobby for the wine social, which was very nice. Finally, I surprised my boyfriend with the suite and he thought it was adorable. Overall, I think the hotel has the right idea - it's hip, stylish and fun - however, it is very overpriced and the rooms lack luxury.I would not return.

Hotel was located in a very convenient spot for hitting a lot of the San Francisco tourist destinations. It was accessible to the BART if you are taking mass transit from San Francisco Internation Airport into the city. Many local buses will take you to places like Fishermans Wharf very quickly. The tour buses have a stop right in front of the hotel as well since it is located at the gate of Chinatown. The hotel was a very short walk from Chinatown and all the shopping and dining venues at Union Square. The room was a little smaller than expected but hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the lobby is very colorful yet classy. Even the room service cleaners were helpful in giving local tips on places to go.

The decor and the fun atmosphere. The view was not so well. I thought it was a great place to stay and would do so again. The lobby was fun and festive. I loved the design and color of the rooms, lobby and hallways. Great wine bar right next door andgreat places to eat nearby.
