This hotel was part of a large restaurant complex with many spots to dine, inside and out, of varying formality. The hotel seemed to take a back seat to the dining and pub facilities and service. The interiors of two or three adjacent townhouses appeared to have been converted to the hotel/restaurant. The room I received as a single person was tiny, but the bed was large and comfortable. Bedding was good. The hallways to the room were outdated and dark. On the third floor, I felt I would be at risk if fire broke out. The bathroom was small, but clean and functional. English was spoken by the desk clerks, and personnel were pleasant. There seemed to be a high turnover of hotel guests in the highly touristic town, Brugge. The location was quiet in the evenings. It was on one corner of a huge public paved square, T Z'and. An under utilized cultural center and information center were across the street from the hotel. This square served as the main local and tourist bus depot too. From the train station, it was a very pleasant ten minute walk through a gorgeous park to reach the hotel. The sights I wished to see started more than seven blocks away. I'd recommend just factoring in the cost of cabs and staying closer to the historic sights next time.

In our seven weeks of recent overseas travel, both my husband and I would rate this hotel as being one of the best for quality standards in general. Hotel staff were excellent, and our questions and requests were always answered with enthusiasm and care. We were delighted with the restaurant which we were able to enjoy on several occasions.

We had a "luxury" room: very smart, beautiful bathroom, opened onto roof terrace. But it was small & the terrace was spoilt by the kitchen smells as it overlooked the ventilation from there, such a pity! Reasonable breakfast.Very convenient location & ideal for a night or two.

I only had an overnight stay. Room quite small but nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. It was in a new separate building, across an alleyway running behind the hotel. My ground floor window opened directly onto the alleyway and had no ventilation setting, it was either open or shut, so I had to sleep with it shut for security reasons. I staying again I would request an upper floor room. Breakfast was standard continental buffet, with cheese, cold meats, boiled eggs as well as cereals, rolls and jams etc. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Position great, ten minutes walk from the Market Square. Drawback, no free parking nearby.
