Hotel Skandia

Hotel Skandia has 22 rooms all of which with bath- TV and wireless Internet. The hotel has a limited number of parking lots in its yard and it is advisable that you book a parking lot together with your room reservation. 2 minutes on foot to the railway station and the ferry terminal. Naturally it is no coincidence that the same family has stayed in the Hotel Skandia three times a year for more than 15 years. Like so many others they have fallen for the little cosy family-run hotel in Bramstraede which is situated in the middle of old Elsinore and almost 10 minutes walk from the Kronborg Castle.
The old Elsinore virtually exudes history and culture and the reason is that the town has been spared the large fires which regularly ravaged in Denmarks towns in the Middle Ages. In the centre of the town there are many several hundred year-old houses but first and foremost the two large churches of the town have been preserved. The oldest building is the cathedral Skt. Olai of which the construction was commenced way back in the 1200s but its present buildings are from 1559. The nearest neighbour is the church Skt. Mariae Kirke and the monastery Vor Frue Kloster the monastery is the best preserved in the whole of the North.
From Hotel Skandia it is easy to go on an outing in North Zealand no matter whether you wish to go to the well-known beaches along the north coast or visit the famous North Zealand castles. It is also not far from the international art museum Louisiana. The ferry to Helsingborg in Sweden only takes 20 minutes.
The two lounges of Hotel Skandia are a breakfast restaurant. As far as the other meals are concerned you have a free choice between the many cafes- restaurants- pizzerias and bars in Elsinore. Of course the reception of the hotel gladly helps you choose between the many possibilities.
