Description:
The Hotel Scandinavia Venice is located in the heart of the city of Venice, and is just steps from many popular local attractions. The Piazza San Marco, St. Mark’s Square, and Rialto Bridge are just minutes away on foot. The Church of Santa Maria Formosa, Basilica di San Marco, and the Grand Canal can all be found within 500 meters.

The water bus stops are just a short distance away from the Hotel Scandinavia Venice. Venice Marco Polo Airport is 8 kilometers away.

The 33 guestrooms of the Hotel Scandinavia Venice are decorated in a sumptuous style reminiscent of 18th-century Venice. All rooms open onto balconies, and include amenities such as mini-bars, hairdryers, direct-dial phones, and satellite television.

The hotel’s building dates back to the year 1000. The hotel was renovated in the 16th century by the Trevisan family, and turned into a hotel in the 50s by the Tinacci family. The Hotel Scandinavia Venice is said to reflect the spirit of an aristocratic Venetian residence, and provides visitors with an excellent view. I HAD NEVER BEEN TO VENICE BEFORE AND HOPEFULLY WONT BE AGAIN I FELT EVERYTHING WAS OVER PRICED THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN. THE BREAKFAST WAS BASIC BUT TASTY. THE ROOMS WERE VERY DARK AND DREARY. BEDS WERE REALLY BAD BATHROOM WAS LIKE A CLOSET.THE ONLY VIEW WAS THE ROOF ON THE NEXT BUILDING. NO LIFT AND WE WERE ON THE 4TH FLOOR .STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL. THERE WAS A BOAT RACE ON THE CANAL THE DAY WE LEFT SO WE HAD TO WALK BACK TO THE TRAIN STATION AFTER WE PAID FOR THE 24 HOUR PASS ON THE WATER TAXI.BUT THE DIRECTIONS GIVEN US BUY THE DESK PERSON WERE GREAT .

Scandanavia Hotel in Venice was a refurbished old victorian home. Very warm and friendly staff. Right on the square and very easy access to all the sites. I would stay again.

Wonderful location and staff. Hotel is quiet and the rooms very comfortable. This was my third stay at the Scandinavia and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

The closest internet cafe was 3 blocks away and was only open from 10-1 and 3-7. we were on the 4th floor and there was no elevator. it was cheap but pretty inconvenient.

The location was exactly as we wanted, i.e. close to everywhere. 5 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco, 5 minutes to the Rialto Bridge. Location-wise you couldn't ask for more. Hotel was clean and well furnished, rooms were cleaned every morning. The concierges in particular were wonderful and always ready to offer assistance. It was a very nice, 3 star hotel, in the heart of Venice.

We ended up on the very top floor. A long way up with bags. Room was quite but outdated. Had a balcony but overlooked roofs. Was off of a very nice piazza in a nice area so the location was good. Tight squeeze in the breakfast room. Overall, good clean accomodations.

Nella schermata di prenotazione è indicata semplicemente la tipologia della stanza: singola, doppia o tripla non specificando eventuale stanza matrimoniale o se è inclusa la colazione. Ho dovuto rettificare la prenotazione telefonando all'hotel.

The room was very big. However, we did not have a good view and the breakfast was not good at all.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpfull. Bedroom was a good size as was the bathroom. Breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice. Hotel is well situated to get to all the main attractions and not to far from the water bus stop at Rialto Bridge. Would use the Hotel Scandinavia Venice again.

We stayed in a very nice triple. The accomodations were quite nice and the staff was extremely helpful in suggesting options for our days and in assisting us. Quiet location but close to the main points of interest. My only suggestion would be for the hotel to provide very specific directions from the vaporetti stops -- we wandered a bit through Venice the evening we arrived before finding the hotel (after asking a number of people for directions to the piazza.)

Elsewhere stories of scaffolds and power cuts but no evidence Feb 08. Breakfast basic but sufficient. Rooms clean and quiet but no kettle. Excellent location approx 5min from Rialto or 10 from San Marco. For a Venice location quite easy to find. For less touristy food area head off via NW corner of square for 5min.

When we arrived our room was not ready (although we got there earlier than the check-in time). We then wandered around Venice for a few hours; when we came back, the room was not yet ready. When we did see the room, we were not happy with it and asked for a different one. Another was provided which was better. Pro's: Close to main areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean. Con's: Thin walls (could hear other couple ...doing things.. ahem). A little more room in the room would have been be preferable; we needed to put out suitcases on the chairs. Bathrooms needed a shower curtain! We had asked for a single room, double occupancy.

Both myself & my girlfriend adoured Venice & that was only made possible by the splendid accommodation. Even if there were renovations being carried out at the time we enjoyed the Hotel greatly.
